• How to use YT thumb in plugin

  I'm using two plugins on my wordpress site: Auto post youtube Pulls a youtube video then drafts it for me. I use this on my index page beside the post code and the thumbnail appears great: <?php tern_wp_youtube_image(); ?> Top Ten Which I use to display the most viewed posts on a page. Not looking great at the moment, but will fix styling later. This is the code to display popular posts: <?php if(function_exists('tptn_show_pop_posts')) tptn_show_pop_posts(); ?> Is it possible for me to use the youtube image in the popular post function? Or is it because they are seperate they cannot work together without a lot of code? Thanks in advance! • MySQL: Order by time (MM:SS)?

  I'm currently storing various metadata about videos and one of those bits of data is the length of a video. So if a video is 10 minutes 35 seconds long, it's saved as "10:35" in the database. But what I'd like to do is retrieve a listing of videos by length (longest first, shortest last). The problem I'm having is that if a video is "2:56", it's coming up as longest because the number 2 is more than the number 1 in. So, how can I order data based on that length field so that "10:35" is recognized as being longer than "2:56" (as per my example)?

• how do you remove the navigation bar on Android?

  When I listen to a YouTube video fullscreen in landscape on my Galaxy Nexus, the navigation bar on the right disapear after a few seconds (the bar which contains the "back", "home" and "recent apps" buttons ). I want to do the same thing when a user watch a video in my app. What is the code to hide the navigation bar? [UPDATE] Here is the bar I want to hide. Not the title bar, nor the action bar. The navigation bar. (the bar which contains the "back", "home" and "recent apps" buttons ). I also don't want to "dim" the buttons. I'm looking into removing the bar entirely (like the YouTube app does when you plan a video fullscreen in landscape mode)

• Checking for duplicates with nested forms

  I'm making a rails 3.2.9 app that allows users to create pages and they can embed youtube videos through a nested form. I'm trying to figure out how to make it so that I can prevent duplicate video records from being stored in my db. So I have a Video model that takes the youtube url and just parses out the video id and stores that instead of the full user submitted youtube url, which may have extraneous url query parameters. So here's the situation that I'm trying to figure out: There's page1 with video1 - url: 123 and video2 - url: abc Then another user creates page2 and submits video3 - url: def and video4 - url: 123 Currently each page has_many videos. But I think I should change it to a many-to-many relationship. But how would I make it so that the url submitted as video4 in the nested form points to video1? Also I how would I make a nested form that creates objects that are connected through a join table?

• Can JQuery/JavaScript be used to write a substantial client side application?

  I have an unusual situation - I have an embedded video streaming device with a complicated UI, and I need to use an embedded web server to reproduce that UI through a web browser. I'm thinking of using JavaScript/JQuery on a C++ backend (I am NOT coding all this myself, I need to hire people for the grunt work). The embedded web server is much less powerful than a PC, so I want to write an application that runs the entire UI in the browser, and only communicates with the server to pass new program settings back and forth, get status updates from the device, and control video playback. In other words, the client gets one big page or a small number of big pages (effectively downloading the application), the application maintains significant local memory storage, and once the pages are first loaded the server never sends anything layout-related. The application has two rows of tabs to navigate ~40 menu pages, drag-and-select controls to pick cells in a grid, sorted lists, lots of standard data entry options, and it should be able to control up to 16 embedded video players at once (preferably VLC). Is this possible in JavaScript/JQuery with a C++ backend?

• FLV Player Skin Custom URL

  I have a flash banner ad (AS3) which uses a FLV Player component for a remove video. The Skin exports it's own SWF file for user with the video controls as I'm sure anyone familiar with Flash knows. Is there anyway to specify where this file is remotely? I have to provide 1 file to my advertiser, and do not want to have to create custom video controls for this. Is it possible to upload this swf file to a remote location and tell Flash to pull it from there? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Get ffmpeg information in friendly way

  Every time I try to get some information about my video files with ffmpeg, it pukes a lot of useless information mixed with good things. I'm using ffmpeg -i name_of_the_video.mpg. There are any possibilities to get that in a friendly way? I mean JSON would be great (and even ugly XML is fine). By now, I made my application parse the data with regex but there are lots of nasty corners that appear on some specific video files. I fixed all that I encountered, but there may be more. I wanted something like: { "Stream 0": { "type": "Video", "codec": "h264", "resolution": "720x480" }, "Stream 1": { "type": "Audio", "bitrate": "128 kbps", "channels": 2 } }

• jQuery.remove() - Is there a way to get the object back after you remove it?

  I basically have the same problem in this questions: Flash Video still playing in hidden div I've used the .remove jquery call and this works. However, I have previous/next buttons when a user scrolls through hidden/non-hidden divs. What I need to know is, once I remove the flash object, is there a way to get it back other than refreshing the page? Basically, can this be handled client side or am I going to need to implement some server side handling. detach() won't work because the flash video continues to play. I can't just hide it because the video continues to play as well.

  I have been subscribed to the Pluralsight website and of course since ASP.NET is my favorite development technology, I passed throughout few series of videos related to ASP.NET. You have list of ASP.NET galleries from Fundamentals to Advanced topics including the latest features of ASP.NET 4.0, ASP.NET Ajax, ASP.NET MVC etc. Most of the speakers are either Microsoft MVPs or known technology experts! I was really curious to see the way they have organized the entire course materials, and trust me, I was quite amazed. • SiriProxy Harnesses Siri’s Voice Processing to Control Thermostats and More

  iOS: This clever hack taps into the Siri voice agent in iPhone 4S units and allows a proxy service to execute commands outside the normal range of Siri’s behavior–like adjusting the thermostat. It’s a highly experimental hack but it showcases the great potential for Siri-based interaction with a wide range of services and network devices. In the above video Apple enthusiast Plamoni demonstrates how, using SiriProxy, he can check and control his home thermostat.
