  • Mapping to a JSON method with url-pattern

    I'm creating a Spring MVC application that will have a controller with 'RequestMapping'-annotated methods, including a JSON method. It currently has static content that resides in webapps/static, and the app itself resides in webapps/myapp. I assume that Catalina's default servlet is handling the static content, and my *.htm url-pattern in web.xml is returning the request for my JSP page, but I haven't been able to get the JSON method to be called. How do I write the url-pattern in the servlet mapping to do so? Using /* has not worked; it prevents the app from being accessed at all. Is there anything else to be aware of? EDIT: The url-pattern '/' appears to allow the JSON request through, because a 406 error is returned. What then would need to be modified to allow JSON to be returned?

  • How do I find the object with the oldest updated_at column in RJS?

    Hello, I'm trying to remove the object with the oldest updated_at value when the rjs is executed. page.insert_html :top, :messages, :partial => @message page[@message].visual_effect :grow page[:message_form].reset Message.old_messages.each do |m| page.remove(m.id) end page.delay(1) do page.select('.message').last.visual_effect :fade end I'm using .last in there right now, but I have a periodically_call_remote in the view that continually updates and runs the rjs above. The line: page.select('.message').last.visual_effect :fade seems to only execute the first time because after the message that is "last" fades away there's nothing recognized as "last" anymore so I figure instead of calling .last I could find the object that has the oldest updated_at time stamp and just remove that instead. I'm thinking that I probably cannot do this using page.select since it only calls on css elements. And therefore I probably don't have access to the updated_at values in the Message model. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to accomplish removing the oldest message with rjs? The messages are already automatically removed in the model as new messages are created. But I want them to fade automatically when the RJS refreshes the element.

  • UpdatePanel refreshes only once

    Hi, I have two updatepanels inside an accordion control, laid out like this: <accordion> <first pane content> <updatepanel UpdateMode="conditional"> <contenttemplate>...</contenttemplate> <triggers>...</triggers> </updatepanel> </first pane content> <second pane content> <updatepanel> <contenttemplate>...</contenttemplate> <triggers>...</triggers> </updatepanel> </second pane content> </accordion> The panel updates once, but after that, no updates take place. If I refresh the page, then I can see the updated information. This means that the database is being updated, but the updatepanel isn't refreshing (after refreshing the first time). Why is this happening? This has been bugging me for days, so any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    I am using Google maps API for proximity search. I have all this in an ascx client side. I have a button in the aspx code behind. The initial load of the map is fine. But on the button click, the map is not being loaded though all the other controls are loading properly. The controls are in an Update Panel and I am new to using these. Would appreciate in any suggestions made.

  • How to use visual_effect on DOM after loading the page?

    I would like to make one of the div's hidden while rendring. After page is loaded I would like it to appear on the page using virtual_effect. I know how to do it in JS / jQuery. Is that possible with pure Ruby code using Prototype? update_page_tag doesn't really solves the problem It work ok with :highligth, but I can't get it to work with :apper or :slide_down.

  • Firefox redirect response on xhr request

    Suppose we have the xhr 'POST' request that returns 'redirect' status code. In that case browser is sending additional xhr 'GET' by the given URL. I am not sure who is doing that call chain: browser itself or js library(using MooTools). The problem is that the second 'GET' request is not recognized as xhr by the server: It doesn't have "X-Requested-With" header contains "XMLHttpRequest" The problem appears only on Firefox, but not on Webkit. So, believe it is not related to js library bug. Does anyone have ideas how to fix it?

I've done some research on the process, and so far the closest thing that I have found is from HTML to Flash in a Floorplanning application.     Hi, I use a search button that creates a form dynamically at the server side and returns it with Jquery syntax. After I fill-up the form and click on submit button, there is another .submit() Jquery function that suppose to be called to validate input before data is sent to the server. But, for some reason, this function is never called, and the data is request is sent. In more details: This is the form that the serach button creates dynamically at the server side and "prints" to html page with Jquery: <form action=... name="stockbuyform" class="stockbuyform" method="post"> <input type=text value="Insert purchasing amount"> <input type="submit" value="Click to purchase"> </form> And here is the .submit() function : $(".stockbuyform").submit(function() { alert("Need to validate purchasing details"); } But whaen I click on purchase button, the .submit() function is never called. Does it mean that I can't use another Jquery call with the answer I got in the first call?

    Hi, I have a little problem with a Jquery dialog for an action that requires a role. In my example, the user can click on a delete button and must confirm the action. In my controller, the Delete action requires a role, if the user is in the required role, the object is deleted. The problem: How to alert the user if * the element was deleted (redirect to the Index view) * there was an error (alert with the message) * he doesn't have the rights to delete (alert with the message) Before using the authorize filter, the delete action returned a JSON with a Boolean that indicates if there was an error, an URL to redirect on success and a message to alert on error. As I can't return a JSON from my filter, I created an other method with the authorize filter that returns a partial view with the confirm content. If the user doesn't have the rights, the filter returns a partial view with an unauthorized exception content. The problem: How to distinct which partial view was returned. When I create the dialog, I need to know for the buttons function. Thanks!

I need to call this function reloadPage like this from js file reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); but it gives me an error Line: 341 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method Line 341 is reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID});. What can I do to run this function from outside the directory? I tried parent.reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); But that didnt work either.

However, I need the page to be able to update itself with fresh information every few seconds to redraw the graph.     I'm writing a service (say, service.com) that provides a REST API to external apps running inside of IFrames. (These apps are hosted from domains outside the service.com). I'm planning a javascript client library for the apps to make pure-javascript requests to the service.com REST API -- basically using postMessage and some ad-hoc encapsulation of my API calls to get messages back and forth across frames (from the outside-app.com IFrame -- service.com REST API, and back to the IFrame with a response). My question: is there any robust, general-purpose javascript library to accomplish the kind of cross-domain REST request proxying I need, or should I just hack it from scratch?
