In ff display_short will be called for evry 1 sec eventhough you dont release right click but in IE it will not call display_short if you dont release right click. But i expect in IE it should call display_short for every 1 sec if you dont release also. Is there any solution for this?

Passing a Variable into jQuery AJAX

I'm stuck in a rut. I hope some one can help. Basically, I am building an AJAX mobile web app with jQuery. I am able to parse a specific XML file just fine, but I want the option to parse other XML files based on the link they were clicked on and load them on the fly into the same DIV or UL. So: click on Link1, loads XML1 click on Link2, loads XML2 I would like to be able to do this all client side, so no PHP (or is that a bad idea?). In SVG is there a way to grab a shape anywhere when it has fill = "none"

I have a series of shapes that I want the user to be able click anywhere on the shape to pick up as part of a drag and drop feature. All of these shapes are bounded by a rectangle. For example: <g id="shape1" fill="none" stroke="black"> <rect x="0" y="0" width="100" height="100"/> <circle cx="50" cy="50" r="50"/> </g> <g id="shape2" fill="none" stroke="black"> <rect x="0" y="0" width="100" height="100"/> <line x1="0" y1="0" x2="50" y2="100"/> <line x1="100" y1="0" x2="50" y2="100"/> </g> I already have all of the drag and drop parts working, the problem is all of these shapes have to have fill="none" so you can see anything that may be underneath of them. This means that even though they are bounded by the rectangle, at the moment users have to physically click on one of the lines in order to pick it up instead of being able to click anywhere on the shape like I want. My original idea was to use fill="white" and then set opacity="0" or some really low value but this applies to the stroke as well so this didn't work out. Any ideas on how I can get this working?

C# Debug.Assert-s use the same error message. Should I promote it to a static variable?

I love Asserts but not code duplication, and in several places I use a Debug.Assert which checks for the same condition like so: Debug.Assert(kosherBaconList.SelectedIndex != -1, "An error message along the lines - you should not ever be able to click on edit button without selecting a kosher bacon first."); This is in response to an actual bug, although the actual list does not contain kosher bacon. Preloading Image Bug in IE6-8

If you click the thumbnail a second time, then it will load. Any help would be appreciated. It still works without the image preloading, so if all else fails I'll just wrap the preloading in an if !($.browser.msie){ } and call it a day.

Qt display image in a new window

Hi, I am naive to Qt and GUI programming. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1357960/qt-jpg-image-display/2605463#2605463 The procedure given for displaying an image is working fine and thank you for providing that. But I want to display an image when I click on radiobutton. I created a slot, and I connected the button click event to the slot (dispImage is my slot). My slot consists only the code which is working to display an image (First answer in this link). I am able to compile it and run it. But the o/p is not as we desire. On button click, image windoe flashes for a sec and disappears. One more point to share is, I tried the same with windowsflags example present in qt examples. In this example I want to display the image on the preview window created by us. Even this is also not worked for me. Please provide me the solution. Thanks in advance.

Problem prompting user for extended permissions using showPermissionDialog in FB page tab

I have an FBML app that will use the tab as a promo tab before the full app goes live. The purpose of the promo tab is to allow users to opt in to email notifications (using the FB API sendNotifications call), so I need to prompt them to allow the app and grant extended permissions on that promo tab. Once the user has allowed the app, and they click on the Step 2, nothing happens. If they click on it twice, THEN the extended permissions dialog box popups up, but it asks them to grant extended permissions TWICE. OR.... If the user clicks on Step 1, and allows the app, and then reloads the fan page tab, they only have to click on the Step 2 link once, and the permissions show up. Anyone have any ideas? I have been beating myself in the head over this for hours.

Loop elements with Jquery and call Omniture s.tl() function to track

Hi, i have a page with a list of items. Each item has a print now link (a.printMe) to print each item. At the end of the list, there's a print all link (a.printAll) to print all items. I want to track number of times an item was printed. If a.printAll link is clicked, then i will send all the item's tracking value to Omniture. I added tracking string into individual item's a.printMe href attribute and track with the following functions: $('a.printMe').click(function() { var value = $(this).attr('href'); track(value); }); $('a.printAll').click(function() { $('a.printMe').each(function() { this.click(); }); // works in IE only. I finally got the above to work in IE but not Firefox. Anyone encounter this before?

How not to lose binding source updates?

Suppose I have a modal dialog with a textbox and OK/Cancel buttons. And it is built on MVVM - i.e. it has a ViewModel object with a string property that the textbox is bound to. Say, I enter some text in the textbox and then grab my mouse and click "OK". Everything works fine: at the moment of click, the textbox loses focus, which causes the binding engine to update the ViewModel's property. I get my data, everybody's happy. Now suppose I don't use my mouse. Instead, I just hit Enter on the keyboard. This also causes the "OK" button to "click", since it is marked as IsDefault="True". But guess what? The textbox doesn not lose focus in this case, and therefore, the binding engine remains innocently ignorant, and I don't get my data. Dang! Another variation of the same scenario: suppose I have a data entry form right in the main window, enter some data into it, and then hit Ctrl+S for "Save". Guess what? My latest entry doesn't get saved! This may be somewhat remedied by using UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged, but that is not always possible. One obvious case would be the use of StringFormat with binding - the text keeps jumping back into "formatted" state as I'm trying to enter it. And another case, which I have encountered myself, is when I have some time-consuming processing in the viewmodel's property setter, and I only want to perform it when the user is "done" entering text. This seems like an eternal problem: I remember trying to solve it systematically from ages ago, ever since I've started working with interactive interfaces, but I've never quite succeeded. In the past, I always ended up using some sort of hacks - like, say, adding an "EnsureDataSaved" method to every "presenter" (as in "MVP") and calling it at "critical" points, or something like that... But with all the cool technologies, as well as empty hype, of WPF, I expected they'd come up with some good solution.

PHP, MySQL: Security concern; Page loads in a weird way

Hi all, I am testing the security of my website. I am using the following URL to load a PHP page in my website, on localhost: http://localhost/domain/user/index.php/apple.php When I do this, the page is not loading normally; Instead the images, icons used in the page simply vanish/disappear from the page. Only text appears. And also on any link I click on this page, it brings me to this same page again without navigating to the required page. So if I have hyperlinks to other pages, such as "SEARCH", which points to search.php, instead of navigating to the search.php page, it refreshes the index.php page and just appends the page name of the destination page to the end of the URL. For example, say I used the link above. It then loads the index.php page minus the images at it's will. When I click on the "Search" link to navigate to the search page, I see the following in the URL: http://localhost/domain/user/index.php/search.php I have a redirection configured to a 404 error page in my .htaccess file, but the page does not redirect to the 404 error page. Notice the search.php towards the end of the URL above. Any other link that I click, reloads the index.php page and just appends the destination page name to the end of the URL like I have shown above. I was expecting to see a 404 Error but that does not happen. The URL should not even be able to load the page because I do NOT have a "index.php" folder in my website. What can I do to solve this? CakePHP update multiple elements in one div

The idea is that I've 3 ajax links and each link is coupled to one single element (a form). The element will be loaded in one div. Each time when you click on a different link, the element that is requested before must be removed and the new one must come in there. So it has to update the DIV. The problem is, that it request the element, but it does not remove the other one. So when you click one the first link, it shows the first element, click on the second link and it puts the second element beneath them, and with the third one will happen exactly the same. If you clicked all the 3 links, it shows 3 forms right under each other. problem in case of window service

Hello friends, i made a windows service & add project installer.in which only contain this code. System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(@"C:\Windows\system32\notepad.exe"); inside the timer tick event & interval is 60 sec.i just wanted to try to run Windows service. 1st-serviceProcessInstaller1 i have been changed its account setting as local system. 2nd-serviceInstaller1 in this case i have been changed its start up type as Automatic. then i create a setup add another project then right click add project output then add primary output then press ok. then go to Right click on project-view-custom Action-right click on Install-Add custom Action-select Application folder & add primary output.the same thing done for all the remaining options like commit,rollback,uninstall. after that i build the setup it build succesfully then i install the setup it installed properly into program file n create one .exe file n one Instalfile. but problem is that when i search the service into "services.msc" the service is not there. means service is not showing there.i tried but not getting the ans.plz help me to solve this problem.

Updating a Database from DataBound Controls

Hi. I'm currently creating a WinForm in VB.NET bound to an access database. Basically what i have are two forms: one is a search form used to search the database, and the other is a details form. You run a search on the searchForm and it returns a list of Primary Keys and a few other identifying values. You then double click on the entry you want to view, and it loads the details form. The Details form has a collection of databound controls to display the data: mostly text boxes and checkboxs. The way i've set it up is i used the UI to build the form and then set the DataBindings Property of each control to "TblPropertiesBindingSource - " where value name is one of the values in the table (such as PropertyID or HasWoodFloor). Then, when you double click an entry in the searchform, I handle the event by parsing the Primary Key (PropertyID) out of the selected row and then storing this to the details form: Note: Detail is the details form that is opened to display the info Private Sub propView_CellDoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Handles propView.CellDoubleClick Dim detail As frmPropertiesDetail = New frmPropertiesDetail detail.id = propView.Rows(e.RowIndex).Cells(0).Value detail.Show() End Sub Then, upon loading the details form, it set's the filter on the BindSource as such: TblPropertiesBindingSource.Filter() = "PropertyID=" & id This works great so far. All the controls on the details form will display the correct info. The problem is updating changes. Scenario: If i have the user load the details for say, property 10001, it will show a description in a textBox named descriptionBox which is identical to the value of the description value of for that entry in the database. I want the user to then be able to change the text of the text box (which they can currently do) and click the save button (saveBut) and have the form update all the values in the controls to the database. Theorectically, it should do this as the controls are DataBound, thus i can avoid writing code that tells each entry in the database row to take the value of the aligned control. I've tried calleding PropertiesTableAdapter.Update(PropertiesBindingSource.DataSource), but that doesnt seem to do it.

Pure CSS3 show/hide full height div with transition

Dear Stackoverflow readers, I've been breaking my head over something I've seen at Tympanus, and I can't figure out how to properly do such a thing. In this link: http://tympanus.net/Tutorials/FullscreenBookBlock/ you can see that the menu is completely hidden, and only visible when you click on an icon. It has a lovely transition, and it basically roughly sums up what I'm trying to accomplish. The only difference with the above example is that I don't want to completely hide this full-height element, and I'd like to accomplish the above effect with a hover instead of having to click a button. So in an ideal world you'd see a vertical bar, and when you hover over that bar (or click on it with your finger if you're on a tablet), it "opens up" and shows you the full content inside the opened div. Now, I can make a decent bit in html5 and css3, but the above explained effect that I'm trying to accomplish has given me serious headaches, hehe. Does anyone happen to know a tutorial I might have missed that does this exact thing? p.s.: I have tried to take apart Tympanus' html/css, but with the page-fold effect that's also implemented in it I can't seem to figure it out, hence my hope for someone here to help me on my way :)

kQuery : Trying to find a specific instance of a class by number

I guess I have just hit a mental block with this one; maybe some fresh eyes will help. Basically I have a few instance of the class "menu-item" which when clicked call the click function via jQuery and bring up a video. Instead of giving each on an id as well as a class I am trying to find which instance of the class was clicked (1, 2, 3, etc). Hello, I'm very new in MVC 2, Let say, I have a page with 1 text box and 2 input typed submit, "back" and "next". I'm using client validation like this: "" type="text/javascript"/" " type="text/javascript"/ " type="text/javascript"/ . . . <% Html.EnableClientValidation(); % . . . . . . and validation rule used for that text box is [StringLength(100, ErrorMessage="This field should be no longer than 100")] My wish is that validation rules will be applied only when I click on Next button. And when I click on Back button, no validation error message will be displayed and form will be posted to server. Is it possible to do that? could you please tell me how? My problem now is that when I click Back, validation rules are applied and prevent me from posting back to server.

Slow Response in checkbox using JQuery

Hi to all. I'm trying to optimize a website. The flow is i tried to query a certain table and all of its data entry in a page(w/ toolbars), work fine. When i tried to edit the page the problem is when i click the checkbox button i have to wait 2-5sec just by clicking it. I limit the viewing of entry to 5 only but the response on checkbox doesn't change. Changing the href attribute on hover with jQuery

Ok, I have an html page that is loaded into another html page via PHP (ok so its a PHP page, whatever). The page that is loaded is a list of hyperlinks. I need to change the href attribute to make the hyperlinks relative to the location of the stored images they refer too. When i load the page containing the hyperlinks the links are relative to the web host server, not the server that the page is actually hosted from. Somthing like this: <div #screenshots) <p><a href="image1.htm">Image1</a></p> <p><a href="image2.htm">Image2</a></p> <p><a href="image3.htm">Image3</a></p> <p><a href="image4.htm">Image4</a></p> <p><a href="image5.htm">Image5</a></p> </div> When I mouse over the links, the status bar shows the reference as "http://webHostServer.com/image1.htm". If I click it I get a 404 error. I need the href to change to something like this when I mouse over it: "http://www.actualImageHostServerIPaddress/image1.htm" I looked at this for assitance and came out with the following jQuery code, but for some reason none of it works: $(document).ready(function(){ $("button").click(function() { $("#screenshots a").addClass('ss'); }); $(".ss").each(function() { $(this).data("oldHref", $(this).attr("href")); orig = $(this).attr("href"); over = "http://208.167.244.33/208.167.244.33/"; $(this).hover(function() { $(this).attr("href", $(this).attr("href").replace(orig, over+orig)); }, function() { $(this).attr("href", $(this).data("oldHref")); }); }); When I click the button it dosen't add the class to the anchor tags, so when I hover over them nothing changes. WP7: Why does a ListBox.ItemsPanel break my ElementName data binding?

I have a Windows Phone 7 ListBox that binds to a list of integers. I am using the default MVVM Light template, so there is a ViewModel class that contains data and a simple RelayCommand. Here is the ListBox: <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding MyData}"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Button Content="{Binding}"> <i:Interaction.Triggers> <i:EventTrigger EventName="Click"> <cmd:EventToCommand Command="{Binding ElementName=ContentGrid, Path=DataContext.TestCommand}" CommandParameter="{Binding}" /> </i:EventTrigger> </i:Interaction.Triggers> </Button> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> This displays a vertical list of integers inside buttons. If you click any of them, the following command code executes and shows a pop-up: new RelayCommand<int>(i => MessageBox.Show("Test" + i)); However, if I simply add the following XAML to change to a horizontal list, the databinding fails. Nothing happens when you click the button and no error messages are written to the Output window. <ListBox.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" HorizontalAlignment="Center" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ListBox.ItemsPanel> I have tried some other types of binding for the EventToCommand. For example, specifying my ViewModel as a static resource. It works, but is less ideal than the example above. Why does that ItemsPanel break the databinding?

How to hide an dom element after creating it on the fly with Jquery ?

I am trying to build a form where users can add a text field by clicking on a "add option" button. They can also remove added fields by a "remove option" link created on the fly by Jquery, along with the text field. My code looks like this : $(document).ready(function(){ $("#add_option").click(function(){ var form = $("form"); var input_field = '<input type="text" />'; var delete_link = '<a href="#">remove</a>'; form.append(input_field + delete_link); return false; }); $("a").click(function(){ alert('clicked'); return false; }); }); This code is not working : when I click on the "add_option" button, a new text field and the "delete_link" appear. But when clicking on the "delete_link" created by JQuery, the browser follows the link instead of launching a pop-up displaying "clicked". Any idea ? Thanks !
