• Popen is no able to process a command that runs in shell

  Hello everybody, I have already read the previous questions posted on the same argument but I really haven't figured it out yet. I am trying to run a command that works without issues from the command line : xyz@klm:~/python-remoteWorkspace/PyLogParser/src:18:43ush -o PPP -p PRD -n log 'pwd' 6:43PM PPP:prd:lgsprdppp:/ama/log/PRD/ppp but when I do the same in python I always get errors : stringa = Popen(["ush -o PPP -p PRD -n log 'pwd'"], stdout=PIPE, stdin=PIPE).communicate()[0] Here the error.   Hi I would like to make a list-detail view with richfaces. There will be a link for every record in the list that should open a new window containing record details. I tried to implement the link this way: <a4j:commandLink oncomplete="window.open('/pages/serviceDetail.jsf','popupWindow', 'dependent=yes, menubar=no, toolbar=no, height=500, width=400')" actionListener="#{monitoringBean.recordDetail}" value="details" /> I use <a4j:keepAlive beanName="monitoringBean" ajaxOnly="false" /> for both the list and the detail page. recordDetail method fills the data of the selected record to a variable of the bean that I would like to display on the detail page. The problem is that keepalive doesn't work, so I get new bean instance on the detail page every time. So the the previously selected record from the other bean is not accessible here. Is there a way to pass parameter (id) to the detail page to handle record selection. Or is there any way to make keepalive work? (I this this would be the easiest). Thanks

• How to send data from an opened window back to its opener in WPF.

  In WPF I have one window opening a second window that allows some data selections to occur on. Once the selections have been made I then want to submit/close the second/sub window and have the data pushed back to the opening/parent window. I can push data into the sub window from the parent via public properties, but have not worked out how to get it back the other way. Can anyone help please? If further selections are made on the email list, when the op clicks the done/submit/close button it pushes the new selection list back into the relevant TextBox on the first/parent window. Thanks

  I am trying to do a post to server before unloading a page and I followed this and it's working fine. My problem is the $.post on window.unload is triggered after it has unloaded. • jQuery Fancy - popup window doesn't fully expand

  I am using jQuery Fancybox to display a number of Flash videos on a site and I am having trouble with the window not opening fully on the first click in Firefox. It works fine in other browsers.   Greetings all, I have a question. I have created a WPF application. So, I naturally created an installer (Visual Studio Install project) for it. In the Commit section of the installer I want to launch a WPF window which is my configuration wizard. So I created a Installer class, overrode the Commit method and put the following in method: Application theApp = new Application; theApp.Run (new MyWPFWizardWindow()); I keep getting the error: The calling thread must be STA, because many UI components require this. No problems, this makes as it is a GUI application. But I can't, for the life of me, get the installer to fire up my window. I have tried putting [STAThread] on the method. I have tried firing up a thread and setting the ApartmentState to STA. I am guessing it's something really simple that I am over looking. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance.. cmb..

  I want to store a specific part of a matched result as a variable to be used for replacement later. I would like to keep this in a one liner instead of finding the variable I need before hand. when configuring apache, and use mod_rewrite, you can specificy specific parts of patterns to be used as variables,like this: RewriteRule ^www.example.com/page/(.*)$ http://www.example.com/page.php?page=$1 [R=301,L] the part of the pattern match that's contained inside the parenthesis is stored as $1 for use later. So if the url was www.example.com/page/home, it would be replaced with www.example.com/page.php?page=home. So the "home" part of the match was saved in $1 because it was the part of the pattern inside the parenthesis. I want something like this functionality with a sed command, I need to automatically replace many strings in a SQL dump file, to add drop table if exist commands before each create table, but I need to know the table name to do this, so if the dump file contains something like: ... CREATE TABLE `orders` ... I need to run something like: cat dump.sql | sed "s/CREATE TABLE `(.*)`/DROP TABLE IF EXISTS $1\N CREATE TABLE `$1`/g" to get the result of: ... DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `orders` CREATE TABLE `orders` ... I'm using the mod_rewrite syntax in the sed command as a logical example of what I'm trying to do. Any suggestions?

• Force screen size when testing embedded DOS app in Windows 7 command window

  I'm doing some embedded DOS development with OpenWatcom (great Windows-hosted compiler for targeting 16-bit DOS applications). The target hardware has a 24x16 character screen (that supposedly emulates CGA to some degree), and I'm trying to get the CMD.EXE window on my Windows 7 machine to stay at a fixed 24x16 without any scroll bars. I've used both the window properties and MODE CON: COLS=24 LINES=16 to get the screen size that I wanted, but as soon as my application uses an INT10 BIOS calls to clear the screen, the mode jumps back to 80x24. Here's what I'm using to clear the screen: void cls(void) { // Clear screen and reset cursor position to (0,0) union REGS regs; regs.w.cx = 0; // Upper left regs.w.dx = 0x1018; // Lower right (of 16x24) regs.h.bh = 7; // Blank lines attribute (white text on black) regs.w.ax = 0x0600; // 06 = scroll up, AL=00 to clear int86( 0x10, &regs, &regs ); } Any ideas? I can still do my testing at 80x24 (or 80x25), but it doesn't entirely behave like the 24x16 mode.

  I have page with products. When adding a product to the shopping cart a modal window is fired up for confirmation - this can take up to 2 seconds. I want to show another modal window just before the confirmation modal to show "loading..." my problem is that I don't know how to close the "loading..." modal. • Position footer to bottom of window or page, whichever is larger

  I am currently working on a site that requires a footer to be placed either at the bottom of the window, or the bottom of the page content, whichever is lower. I have tried using the height: 100% method, but this causes a problem. I also have a position: fixed header, and some padding on my content (defined in pixels). Also, the height of the content may change after the page has loaded (use of accordions, etc.), so I wonder if there's a pure CSS way to position the footer to either the bottom of the window, or the bottom of the document, while still allowing pixel padding and so forth. Here's an outlined structure of the HTML: <header></header> <div class="content"> <footer></footer> </div> I have also put together a Fiddle to demonstrate how the CSS works at the moment: http://jsfiddle.net/LY6Zs/. I am unfortunately unable to change the HTML structure (i.e. breaking out the footer element from .content.

• Unix [Homework]: Get a list of /home/user/ directories in /etc/passwd

  I'm very new to Unix, and currently taking a class learning the basics of the system and its commands. I'm looking for a single command line to list off all of the user home directories in alphabetical order from the /etc/passwd directory. This applies only to the home directories, and not the contents within them. There should be no duplicate entries. I've tried many permutations of commands such as the following: sort -d | find /etc/passwd /home/* -type -d | uniq | less I've tried using -path, -name, removing -type, using -prune, and changing the search pattern to things like /home/*/$, but haven't gotten good results once. At best I can get a list of my own directory (complete with every directory inside it, which is bad), and the directories of the other students on the server (without the contained directories, which is good). I just can't get it to display the /home/user directories and nothing else for my own account. Many thanks in advance.

  I find a lot of Perl one-liners online. Sometimes I want to convert these one-liners into a script, because otherwise I'll forget the syntax of the one-liner. For example, I'm using the following command (from nagios.com): tail -f /var/log/nagios/nagios.log | perl -pe 's/(\d+)/localtime($1)/e' I'd to replace it with something like this: tail -f /var/log/nagios/nagios.log | ~/bin/nagiostime.pl However, I can't figure out the best way to quickly throw this stuff into a script. Does anyone have a quick way to throw these one-liners into a Bash or Perl script?

I need to write one that copies a file to a new folder and renames it At the moment, my batch file consists of only this command: COPY ABC.PDF \\Documents As you can see, it only copies the file ABC.pdf to the network folder 'Documents'. However i need to change this so it renames the file ABCxxx.pdf, where xxx is a text variable that i would like to set somewhere in the batch file. For example, if xxx = "_Draft", then file would be renamed ABC_Draft.pdf after it is copied. Thanks

  Hi, I basically want to able to run an command line tool that already exists on the desired machine against the directory the files were run to.
