• Does Exchange Cache Mode affect email markers refresh time in other Outlook clients?

  We have users who share a single email account by using the Additional Email option under their accounts. Now, they want to assign emails to one another using the markers alongside the emails. We noticed that when changing the color of a marker, one Outlook client updated immediately, but another Outlook client did not. It looked like they were both set to "Cached Mode". Is it likely that caching effected the refresh of the client? Would it be better to turn off cached mode if we are using Outlook this way?

• How can I configure Windows Server 2008/IIS 7 to send email via an asp.net web application?

  I recently moved a long-functioning web app from a Windows 2003 server to a windows 2008 server. Everything works fine, save for the email service (send password and the like). The code works on my local machine and the original web server. The system throws no errors, but the message stays endlessly in the Queue. I have granted full access to all relevant users (Network Service, IISUsers, etc). Is there something I'm missing, or does IIS7 just not send email via web applications?

  It's already the second time, I have an E-Mail in the outbox of the Mail-app of Windows 8 which is stuck. I don't see the exact reason why this happens (I have no big files attached to the mails and the recipient is valid). The first time I have had this problem, I have not found a simple way to remove the stucked email. I solved the Problem by removing the accounts from the mail app and then adding the same accounts newly to the app. However I'm wondering if there is a more simple way of doing this? Does someone know how to remove an email which is stuck in the outbox?

  [This is a very narrow question, and I don't think it is covered in similar sounding questions] I want to configure my server's DNS so that when someone sends email to [email protected] it is actually deliver it to [email protected] Note: My question is whether this is possible to do ONLY with DNS not with myserver.com's own sendmail. I think the answer is "NO" it is not possible, because when I add an MX record to DNS the email that was delivered to gmail's SMPT server would be TO: [email protected] and it would not know that account. (But I hasten to add that I am just vaguely starting to grok how this all works.)

  Recently, an in-house Microsoft Small Business Server 2011 was installed where I work. Unfortunately, our buildings have a bad electrical power supply and we suffer frequent outages. We have a large percentage of staff working off-site. Now when the power goes off here, everyone everywhere loses email functionality. I have been assigned to research the possibility of routing our email to Google Apps while maintaining LAN functions on the SBS. I haven't worked with Microsoft products for several years now, so do not know how SBS is structured. Can anyone here tell me if this is possible, or point me to good resources that explain our options?

  I need to monitor a remote system where the only access I have is that I can subscribe to email alerts of completed/failed jobs. I would like a system that can monitor these emails and provide an SMS or other alert when: An email indicates failure. A process that was expected to complete by a given time has not. A process that was expected to complete N minutes after completion of another process has not completed. Are there any existing tools that allow this? • Grails g:paginate tag and custom URL

  Hello, I am trying to use g:paginate in a shared template where depending on the controller, url changes e.g. For my homepage url should be : mydomain[DOT]com/news/recent/(1..n) For search Page: www[DOT]mydomain[DOT]com/search/query/"ipad apps"/filter/this month and my g:paginate looks like this: g:paginate controller=${customeController} action=${customAction} total:${total} For the first case, I was able to provide controller as 'news' and action as 'recent' and mapped url /news/recent/$offset to my controller. But for the search page, I am not able to achieve what I want to do. I have a URL mapping defined as /search/$filter**(controller:"search",action:"fetch") $filter can be /query/"ipad apps"/filter/thismonth/filter/something/filter/somethingelse. I want to be able to show the url as above rather than ?query="ipad apps"&filter=thismonth&filter=something&filter=somethingelse. I believe I can pass all the parameters in params attribute of g:paginate but that will not give me pretty URL. What would be the best way to achieve this? Please feel free to ask questions If i missed anything.Thanks in advance.

• Use ISAPI filter to trace and time a WCF call?

  I'm building a web application using WCF that will be consumed by other applications as a service. Our app will be installed on a farm of web services and load balanced for scalability purposes. Occasionally we run into problems specific to one web server and we'd like to be able to determine from the response which web server the request was processed by and possibly timing information as well. For example, this request was processed by WebServer01 and the request took 200ms to finish. The first solution that came to mind was to build an ISAPI filter to add an HTTP header that stores this information in the response. This strikes me as the kind of thing somebody must have done before. Is there a better way to do this or an off-the-shelf ISAPI filter that I can use for this? Thanks in advance

  Well, I'm trying to create a newsletter, that will send emails to users in a database. The newsletter itself would draw "events" and other activities from a database. Whats the best way to take that list, and put them in an email? I was thinking about putting them into an html page, then sending an html email, but not all emails support html(like school email). What would your guys recommend? Could you point me to some good resources? Also, this is for a school project, so I cant use any open source type stuff, unfortunately :(

• Django date filter: how come the format used is different from the one in datetime library ???

For formatting a date using date filter you must use the following format : {{ my_date|date:"Y-m-d" }} If you use strftime from the standard datetime, you have to use the following : my_date.strftime("%Y-%m-%d") So my question is ... isn't it ugly (I guess it is because of the % that is used also for tags, and therefore is escaped or something) ? But that's not the main question ... I would like to use the same DATE_FORMAT parametrized in settings.py all over the project, but it therefore seems that I cannot ! Is there a work around (for example a filter that removes the % after the date has been formatted like {{ my_date|date|dream_filter }}, because if I just use DATE_FORMAT = "%Y-%m-%d" I got something like %2001-%6-%12)?

• How to filter Backbone.js Collection and Rerender App View?

  Is is a total Backbone.js noob question. I am working off of the ToDo Backbone.js example trying to build out a fairly simple single app interface. While the todo project is more about user input, this app is more about filtering the data based on the user options (click events). I am completely new to Backbone.js and Mongoose and have been unable to find a good example of what I am trying to do. I have been able to get my api to pull the data from the MongoDB collection and drop it into the Backbone.js collection which renders it in the app. What I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do is filter that data and re-render the app view. I am trying to filter by the "type" field in the document.   Hi, I'm building a C# client app that allows a user to communicate with one or more existing users in a system via an email-like metaphor. I'd like to present the user with a text entry box that auto-completes on known email addresses, and allows multiple delimiter-separated addresses to be entered. Ideally, I'd also like the email addresses to turn into structured controls once they've been entered and recognized. Basically, I'm modeling the UI interaction for adding users after Facebook's model. Are there any Windows Forms controls out there with the ability to do something like this? I need to compare the value of a column (LASTNAME) with a system variable (:VARIABLE), but the variable is an email address, so I need to trim off the "@email.com" and "firstname." Some things I've tried: select * from TABLENAME where LASTNAME LIKE :VARIABLE select * from TABLENAME where LASTNAME IN :VARIABLE I've been able to trim off the @email.com, can't figure out how to trim off FIRSTNAME. at the same time.   Wait, wait, this is a programming question! I want to build an extension if none exists. Imagine this: you come across a webpage that says "Just send a message to [email protected]" but to actually send the email, you need to highlight the address and then cut and paste it into the recipient field of a new compose window of your email client of choice. Obviously life would be easier if it were simply a mailto: link, so you could click on it and have a new message created automatically. (Or if the page designer had used a form, perhaps ...) I was originally going to ask if there was an extension to enable similar functionality for unlinked twitter @username mentions but I thought this email address problem would be a simpler situation. If you think it would be useless, perhaps I should look at the twitter username problem instead. Thanks for your feedback.

• Rails: getting logic to run at end of request, regardless of filter chain aborts?

  Is there a reliable mechanism discussed in rails documentation for calling a function at the end of the request, regardless of filter chain aborts? It's not after filters, because after filters don't get called if any prior filter redirected or rendered. For context, I'm trying to put some structured profiling/reporting information into the app log at the end of every request. This information is collected throughought the request lifetime via instance variables wrapped in custom controller accessors, and dumped at the end in a JSON blob for use by a post-processing script. My end goal is to generate reports about my application's logical query distribution (things that depend on controller logic, not just request URIs and parameters), performance profile (time spent in specific DB queries or blocked on webservices), failure rates (including invalid incoming requests that get rejected by before_filter validation rules), and a slew of other things that cannot really be parsed from the basic information in the application and apache logs. At a higher level, is there a different "rails way" that solves my app profiling goal?

  I'm looking in to Magento's filtering options (Ecommerce System and PHP Framekwork with an expansive ORM system). Specifically the addFieldToFilter method. In this method, you specify a SQLish filter by passing in a single element array, with the key indicating the type of filter. For example, array('eq'=>'bar') //eq means equal array('neq'=>'bar') //neq means not equal would each give you a where clause that looks like where field = 'bar'; where field != 'bar'; So, deep in the bowels of the source, I found a comparison type named 'moreq' that maps to a = comparison operator array('moreq'=>'27') where field >= 27 The weird thing is, there's already a 'gteq' comparision type array('gteq'=>'27') where field >= 27 So, my question is, what does moreq stand for? Is is some special SQL concept that's supported in other databases that the Magento guys wants to map to MySQL, or is it just "more required" and an example what happens when you're doing rapid agile and trying to maintain backwards compatibility.

• Is there any injection vunerability in the body of an email?

  Hey guys..... AFAIK there is only a vulnerability within the HEADERS of an email when using user data correct? I am using the below function to sanitize my data, however I have some textarea fields on the page & hence these may contain linebreaks.. so was wondering if that user data is only going to be put in the body of the email, can it not bother with being sanitized - apart from stripping html of course?
