  • Deleting an option in a <select> list

    - by Tyzak
    hello, i have following function: function delete_auswahl() { var anzahl =document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").length ; for (var i =0; i<=anzahl; i++) { if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].selected==true) { if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].id == "Margherita" ) gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag - 4; if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].id=="Salami" ) gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag - 4.50; if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].id=="Hawaii" ) gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag - 5.50; document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i]=null; i--;// auf der gleichen stelle bleiben, da dass nächste feld nachrückt } } document.getElementById('gesamtbetrag').innerHTML=gesamtbetrag ; } before i added values with function hinzu (pizza) { NeuerEintrag = new Option(pizza, pizza, false, false); document.getElementById("warenkorbfeld").options[document.getElementById("warenkorbfeld").length] = NeuerEintrag ; if (pizza=="Margherita") { gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag + 4; } if (pizza=="Salami") { gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag + 4.50; } if (pizza=="Hawaii") { gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag + 5.50; } document.getElementById('gesamtbetrag').innerHTML=gesamtbetrag ; } now, in the delete function doesn't substract the price. despite this, all works. what's wrong with this term? if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].id == "Margherita" ) gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag - 4; thanks in advance

  • Absolute positioning error in IE6 with dropdown list

    - by Brisbe42
    I have a div, that I'm using JavaScript to position, so that when someone hovers over an image, it displays a tooltip message that follows along with the pointer. (Using tooltip-0.2.js ) The problem is that when a user goes to the page in IE6, a disabled dropdown box on the page is showing through this absolutely positioned tooltip when it tries to hover over it. How can I get this dropdownlist to know its proper place? ;)

  • Optimizing a "set in a string list" to a "set as a matrix" operation

    - by Eric Fournier
    I have a set of strings which contain space-separated elements. I want to build a matrix which will tell me which elements were part of which strings. For example: "" "A B C" "D" "B D" Should give something like: A B C D 1 2 1 1 1 3 1 4 1 1 Now I've got a solution, but it runs slow as molasse, and I've run out of ideas on how to make it faster: reverseIn <- function(vector, value) { return(value %in% vector) } buildCategoryMatrix <- function(valueVector) { allClasses <- c() for(classVec in unique(valueVector)) { allClasses <- unique(c(allClasses, strsplit(classVec, " ", fixed=TRUE)[[1]])) } resMatrix <- matrix(ncol=0, nrow=length(valueVector)) splitValues <- strsplit(valueVector, " ", fixed=TRUE) for(cat in allClasses) { if(cat=="") { catIsPart <- (valueVector == "") } else { catIsPart <- sapply(splitValues, reverseIn, cat) } resMatrix <- cbind(resMatrix, catIsPart) } colnames(resMatrix) <- allClasses return(resMatrix) } Profiling the function gives me this: $by.self self.time self.pct total.time total.pct "match" 31.20 34.74 31.24 34.79 "FUN" 30.26 33.70 74.30 82.74 "lapply" 13.56 15.10 87.86 97.84 "%in%" 12.92 14.39 44.10 49.11 So my actual questions would be: - Where are the 33% spent in "FUN" coming from? - Would there be any way to speed up the %in% call? I tried turning the strings into factors prior to going into the loop so that I'd be matching numbers instead of strings, but that actually makes R crash. I've also tried going for partial matrix assignment (IE, resMatrix[i,x] <- 1) where i is the number of the string and x is the vector of factors. No dice there either, as it seems to keep on running infinitely.

  • JavaScript: List global variables in IE

    - by Quandary
    I'm trying to get the instance name of my class. The way I do this is I loop through all global objects and compare it with the this pointer. It works in Chrome and FF, but in IE, it doesn't. The problem seems to be the global variables don't seem to be in window. How can I loop through the global variables in IE ? PS: I know it only works as long as there is only one instance, and I don't want to pass the instance's name as a parameter. function myClass() { this.myName = function () { // search through the global object for a name that resolves to this object for (var name in this.global) { if (this.global[name] == this) return name } } } function myClass_chrome() { this.myName = function () { // search through the global object for a name that resolves to this object for (var name in window) { if (window[name] == this) return name ; } } ; } // store the global object, which can be referred to as this at the top level, in a // property on our prototype, so we can refer to it in our object's methods myClass.prototype.global = this //myClass_IE.prototype.global = this // create a global variable referring to an object // var myVar = new myClass() var myVar = new myClass_chrome() //var myVar = new myClass_IE() alert(myVar.myName() );// returns "myVar"

  • concatenate arbitrary long list of matches in SQL subquery

    - by lordvlad
    imagine 2 tables (rather stupid example, but for the sake of simplicity, here you go) words word_id letters letter word_id how can i select all words while selecting all letters that belong to a word and concatenating them to said word? it is important that the letters are returned in the order they appear in the table, as the letter may be mixed into other words, but the order is correct. |word_id| |word_id|letter| +-------+ +-------+------+ | 1| | 1| H| | 2| | 2| B| | 2| Y| | 1| I| | 2| E| should return |word_id|word| +-------+----+ | 1| HI| | 2| BYE| any way to accomplish this in pure SQL?

  • Given the Following List (UL), how can it be serialized and sent to the Database

    - by nobosh
    I have the follow structure which is created with a nested sortable: <UL id="container"> <LI id="main1"> <input type="checkbox" /> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur <UL> <LI id="child2"> <input type="checkbox" /> In hac habitasse platea dictumst. <UL></UL> </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI id="main3"> <input type="checkbox" /> In hac habitasse platea dictumst. <UL></UL> </LI> <LI id="main4"> <input type="checkbox" /> In hac habitasse platea dictumst. <UL></UL> </LI> <LI id="main5"> <input type="checkbox" /> In hac habitasse platea dictumst. <UL></UL> </LI> </UL> Where I'm stuck is how to send this back to the database. I"m guessing that it needs to be serialized, does that sound right to? so that is looks something like: item[]=main1&item[]=221&item_221[]=21&item_221[]=2&item_221[]=211&item[]=22 I'm a little lost at this point and appreciate any tips to move me in the right direction. Thanks, B

  • Modify passed, nested dict/list

    - by Gerenuk
    I was thinking of writing a function to normalize some data. A simple approach is def normalize(l, aggregate=sum, norm_by=operator.truediv): aggregated=aggregate(l) for i in range(len(l)): l[i]=norm_by(l[i], aggregated) l=[1,2,3,4] normalize(l) l -> [0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4] However for nested lists and dicts where I want to normalize over an inner index this doesnt work. I mean I'd like to get l=[[1,100],[2,100],[3,100],[4,100]] normalize(l, ?? ) l -> [[0.1,100],[0.2,100],[0.3,100],[0.4,100]] Any ideas how I could implement such a normalize function? Maybe it would be crazy cool to write normalize(l[...][0]) Is it possible to make this work?? Or any other ideas? Also not only lists but also dict could be nested. Hmm... EDIT: I just found out that numpy offers such a syntax (for lists however). Anyone know how I would implement the ellipsis trick myself?

  • Select list value undefined in $(document).ready

    - by C. Ross
    I have the following code, which I want to load values on a selection change, and also do the selection load initially (since FF 'saves' the last value of the drop down under certain circumstances). The select part of the function works correctly, but for some reason when calling load2 directly the value of $('#select1').value is undefined, even though when I check the DOM in Firebug right after load select1.value has a value. How can I run the load2 function when select1.value is ready? $(document).ready(function() { //Setup change hook $('#select1').change(function(event) { //Remove the old options right away $('#select2').find('option').remove(); //Load the new options load2(this.value); }); //Do load for current value load2($('#select1').value); });

  • Rails: textfield list to array of strings

    - by poseid
    I want to take input from a textfield and turn it into an array of strings. After having submitted the "post", I want to display again the textfield, but with the array showed below. I have a view that would look like: <% form_tag "/list2array" do -%> <%= text_area_tag "mylist" %> <div><%= submit_tag 'save' %></div> <% end -%> <% @myArray.each do |item| %> <%= item %> <% end %> And as a start for the controller: class List2ArrayController < ApplicationController def index end def save @myArray = params[:mylist].split("\r\n") end end However, after the post, I only get an empty textfield without values in the array from the previous POST. Do I need to use the model layer for my experiment? How? Or do I need to modify my controller?

  • Python - List and Loop in one def

    - by Dunwitch
    I'm trying to get the def wfsc_pod1 and wfsc_ip into the same def. I'm not quite sure how to approach the problem. I want wfsc_pod1 to display all the information for name, subnet and gateway. Then wfsc_ip shows the ip addresses below it. I also get a None value when I run it as it. Not sure why. Anything more pythonic is more appreciated. class OutageAddress: subnet = ["255.255.255.0", "255.255.255.1"] # Gateway order is matched with names gateway = ["192.168.1.1", "192.168.1.2", "192.168.1.3", "192.168.1.4", "192.168.1.5", "192.168.1.6", "192.168.1.7", "192.168.1.8", "192.168.1.9"] name = ["LOC1", "LOC2", "LOC3", "LOC4", "LOC5", "LOC6", "LOC7", "LOC8", "LOC9"] def wfsc_pod1(self): wfsc_1 = "%s\t %s\t %s\t" % (network.name[0],network.subnet[0],network.gateway[0]) return wfsc_1 def wfsc_ip(self): for ip in range(100,110): ip = "192.168.1."+str(ip) print ip network = OutageAddress() print network.wfsc_pod1() print network.wfsc_ip()

  • Constructor initializer list: code from the C++ Primer, chapter 16

    - by Alexandros Gezerlis
    Toward the end of Chapter 16 of the "C++ Primer" I encountered the following code (I've removed a bunch of lines): class Sales_item { public: // default constructor: unbound handle Sales_item(): h() { } private: Handle<Item_base> h; // use-counted handle }; My problem is with the Sales_item(): h() { } line. For the sake of completeness, let me also quote the parts of the Handle class template that I think are relevant to my question (I think I don't need to show the Item_base class): template <class T> class Handle { public: // unbound handle Handle(T *p = 0): ptr(p), use(new size_t(1)) { } private: T* ptr; // shared object size_t *use; // count of how many Handles point to *ptr }; I would have expected something like either: a) Sales_item(): h(0) { } which is a convention the authors have used repeatedly in earlier chapters, or b) Handle<Item_base>() if the intention was to invoke the default constructor of the Handle class. Instead, what the book has is Sales_item(): h() { }. My gut reaction is that this is a typo, since h() looks suspiciously similar to a function declaration. On the other hand, I just tried compiling under g++ and running the example code that uses this class and it seems to be working correctly. Any thoughts?

  • Translating this query in LINQ ? (list of like)

    - by Erick
    I would like to translate this query in LINQ ... it is very easy to construct if we do it in pure SQL but in dynamically created LINQ query (building a search query based on user input) it's a whole new story. SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE 1=1 AND Column2 IN (1,2,3) AND ( Column1 LIKE '%a%' OR Column1 LIKE '%b%' ) Now to try to construct this we tried it this way : if(myOjb.Column2Collection != null) query = query.where(f => f.Column2.Contains(myOjb.Column2Collection)); if(myObj.Column1Collection != null) { // tough part here ? //query = query.Where(); ... } So what would be the best aproach to this normally ? Note that I am aware of the SqlMethod.Like, tho I can't figure a way to implement it here ...

  • Smarty dynamic error list

    - by Brainscrewer
    Im new to Smarty in combination with PHP and I really like it. Unfortunatly im running into a problem while validating fields after a $_POST has been done. I've made an array called $errors and use that to save error messages in, for example: $errors[] .= "Wrong email";. My problem is in sending the $errors array over to the template so I can use it to display the error messages. My question: How do you 'transfer' the $errors variable over to the template file so you can use it there with, for example {foreach}. I was planning on doing something like {if $hasErrors} {foreach from=errors item=error} <li>{$error}</li> {/foreach} {/if} Thanks in advance

  • Modifiers in Makefile rule's dependency list

    - by gnu_maker
    The problem is fairly simple. I am trying to write a rule, that given the name of the required file will be able to tailor its dependencies. Let's say I have two programs: calc_foo and calc_bar and they generate a file with output dependent on the parameter. My target would have a name 'target_*_*'; for example, 'target_foo_1' would be generated by running './calc_foo 1'. The question is, how to write a makefile that would generate outputs of the two programs for a range of parameters?
