• How to place a Rounded Rect UIBUTTON on UITableViewCell programmatically

  I was trying to place two uibuttons on uitableviewcell programmatically.. but unable to achieve that. somehow i managed to get the buttons through some sample project in which u can draw a nib for cell.. but i was unable to set a selector function for buttons.. in other example i can place a uiinfodark type button but when i change the type to rounded rect the button gets disappeared and i am unable to figure out why? I might be doing some silly mistake but I am really kinda stuck with it right now so I'll be very much thankful to all of you for helping in this regard.

• How to handle uncaught Exceptions in javascript without a try/catch-block?

  What i try to accomplish is to register a global handler to catch all uncaught exceptions. Searching the web i only managed to find people pointing out window.onerror but this doesn't do the trick for me. Apparently window.onerror only gets called upon errors and not upon exceptions. Assume the following code: function windowError(message, url, line) { alert(message, url, line); } window.onerror=windowError; throw("uncaught"); The obviously uncaught exception won't trigger the windowError handler. (Using Firefox 3.6.3) Any suggestions?

  I am trying to have a title bar appear when the user clicks on a box. It works perfectly in I.E. 8.0 but not at all in firefox 3.6.3. • How can I determine new & previous cell value on SheetChange event in Excel?

  I have some special cells in my Excel workbooks which are managed by my Excel Add-in. I want to prevent users from changing content of those cells, but I also want to know, what value users wanted to enter to those cells. On the SheetChange event I can check what users entered to my special cells, but how do I determine the PREVIOUS value in those cells and REVERT user changes? It is not a solution for me. If I lock cell in Excel, it becomes read-only - user can not even try to enter anything to this cell - Excel popups warning dialog in this case. My problem is that I want to catch what user entered to my cell, do something with this value, and then revert cell content to original value.

  I've managed to style my QLineEdit to something like this: void Utilities::setFormErrorStyle(QLineEdit *lineEdit) { lineEdit->setStyleSheet( "background-color: #FF8A8A;" "background-image: url(:/resources/warning.png);" "background-position: right center;" "background-repeat: no-repeat;" ""); } I called the function using Utilities *util = new Utilities; util->setFormErrorStyle(lineNoStaf); The flow should be something like this: User open form User fill data User submit data Got error Use setFormErrorStyle() User edit the text in the QLineEdit and the style disappear This function should be reusable over and over again, but how can I connect QLineEdit signal such as textChanged() to a function in other class that will reset the Style Sheet and then disconnect the signal so that it won't be running continuously every time the text changed ?

Here comes the question : How to copy the "native/" directory (and its sub-directories) in first module to WEB-INF/native directory in the second module ? • C#, Manage concurrency in database access

  Hi there, I have written a while ago an application used by multiple users to handle trades creation. I haven't done development for some time now and can't remember how I managed the concurrency between the users and so would have liked your advices in term of design. The application was as follow: - One heavy client per user - A single database - Access to the database for each user to insert/update/delete trades - A grid in the application reflecting the trades table. That grid being updated each time someone changes a deal. My questions: 1- Do you confirm I shouldn't care about the connection to the database for each application. Considering that there is a singleton in each, I would expect on connexion per client with no issue. 2- How preventing the concurrency of the accesses? I guess I should lock when modifying the data, however don't remember how to. 3- How to have the grid automatically updated whenever the database is (by another user for example)?   This is in regards to applications that run in the taskbar but should be applicable to standard apps, Winforms, WPF, etc. Question: I am after some method (preferably via managed code) to be notified when a user either has their screen "locked" while my app is running and/or know when they log back in. GMail Notifier does this sort of thing for example, if my PC is locked for a while when I log in again it shows a list of emails that arrived since locking the PC. I'm looking to replicate that kind of functionality. Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?

  Hi, having a raw email as input (i.e. the text between "DATA" and "." sent by a smtp client) I need to extract the mail content (which I know is always text only) as plain text. This means decoding transfer encoding (if any: could be base64 or quoted-printable), merging mutiparts (if any), and stripping headers. I tried various tools that would do that: mewdecode, uudecode, uudeview... I only managed to get this last one to work, but it won't output anything if the mail is not MIME encoded and it stores its output in an unpredictable (nor forceable) filename, so it's hard to use it in a not-interactive shell script. Since this is a pretty common job (every mail client have to do that), it's weird it's so complicated. Do you have some hints? (Actually, forcing uudeview to output in a certain file would be good enough). Thank you!

  I want to understand Struts 2 value stack vs request scope. I want the struts2 value stack to work same as request scope. for e.g. i have invoked action1 in struts 2, the action performs some db task and gets back. it performs some operation on a object called cases (type Cases, where Cases is bean class with getters and setters). cases object is declared at class level. action1 led a view to be rendered say jsp1. jsp1 again has some action called as action2. action2 leads to the same java file as of action1 but has different method. Now, i want to access the object which was used in action1. during action1 cases was pushed to Value Stack and was accessed on jsp1. I simply tried accessing its getter methods, but it returns a null value....!! any solution on how to do ??? or is it possible ?? i know if its possible then what is the difference between vs and request scope...

So, question is, is there a kind of counter on the server? UPDATE #1: I'm using the v2.2.1. UPDATE #2: On the server interface (Administration - System - System Information), there are some statistics including how many builds the server performed. But, this number is reinitialized when the server goes down.

• Removing a text block from a file : sed ?

  Hi, Following an attack, I need to remove 4 lines of text added to .htaccess files in my site, and was thinking SED would be the way to go, but cannot see how in spire of many attempts. The added lines are RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http:// RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !%{HTTP_HOST} RewriteRule . http://targeturlhere.net/%{REMOTE_ADDR} I managed to create the script to remove added htaccess files containing those lines only, but for existing htaccess files in which that was appended I have to edit the file and cannot delete it. I cannot just remove line by line nor use "RewriteEngine On" as the start marker, as this instruction "RewriteEngine On" is sometimes legitimate elsewhere in the file. In most cases those lines are the last, but I guess in other files they could be in the middle, so I was trying to remove exactly that block - and have a script I could reuse in a similar case. (Edit: my 4 lines are below one another, no blank line in between but the editor here seems to either show no breakline, or one adding a blank line) Any hint or tip ? Thanks.

  Hi all I have 3 divs with rollover images inside them stacked vertically inside my main content div. IE7 is chopping off about three quarters of the bottom div and I can't figure out why. It displays perfectly in all other browsers (even IE6) but IE7 just won't display properly. This is my first website so I still have a lot to learn. • Javascript for removing menu and scroll bars

  Hi - I have this script on my html page: parent.resizeTo(550,510); I'd like to add to it so it positions the window in the middle of the screen. Also, I want to remove the address and tool bars (I've managed to hide the scrollbars by using body{overflow:hidden;}). I know how to do this using JS upon opening a new window from the browser but this needs to work from clicking a link on a PDF. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Silverlight 3 WCF RIA Services Bing Maps Silverlight Control * Managed Extensibility Framework (optional) MVVM Light Toolkit (optional) log4net (optional) * If you are new to Bing Maps or have not signed up for a Developer Account, you will need to visit www.bingmapsportal.com to request a Bing Maps key for your application. Getting Started We start out by creating a new Silverlight Application called EarthquakeLocator and specify that we want to automatically create the Web Application Project with RIA Services enabled. I cleaned up the web app by removing the Default.aspx and EarthquakeLocatorTestPage.html. Then I renamed the EarthquakeLocatorTestPage.aspx to Default.aspx and set it as my start page. I also set the development server to use a specific port, as shown below. RIA Services Next, I created a Services folder in the EarthquakeLocator.Web project and added a new Domain Service Class called EarthquakeService.cs. This is the RIA Services Domain Service that will provide earthquake data for our client application. I am not using LINQ to SQL or Entity Framework, so I will use the <empty domain service class> option. We will be pulling data from an external Atom feed, but this example could just as easily pull data from a database or another web service. This is an important distinction to point out because each scenario I just mentioned could potentially use a different Domain Service base class (i.e. LinqToSqlDomainService<TDataContext>). Model I have also created a Model folder and added a new class, Earthquake.cs. The Earthquake object will hold the various properties returned from the Atom feed. Here is a sample of the code for that class. Notice the [Key] attribute on the Id property, which is required by RIA Services to uniquely identify the entity. using System; • Dell Vostro 3560 bluetooth doesn't work

  I installed the wireless driver using this instruction How do I install BCM43142 wireless drivers for Dell Vostro 3460/3560 and I have WiFi working. No problems here. But unfortunately the bluetooth doesn't work. The ubuntu bar shows the bluetooth sign and I can turn the bluetooth on/off but I can't discover any devices. And I can't find my laptop when I turn visibility On. So, obviously bluetooth doesn't work. I couldn't find the reports that blutooth can actually work with this adapter in Ubuntu. So, my question is: Is there anyone with BCM43142 adapter that have bluetooth working? Thank You in advance. PS. Ubuntu 12.10 x64 Update: After some fiddling around with different drivers from different sources I managed to get bluetooth working. Not flawlessly but at least I can pair a device. Bluetooth started working after installation of this package bt-bcm43142-onereic_0.0+20111116somerville2_amd64.deb Originally I found this package on the disk with Ubuntu which came with the Laptop. What this package does, it installs a firmware loader and a firmware itself. This firmware needs to get bluetooth working. Still bluetooth sometimes doesn't work even with this package. But manual loading the firmware helps. brcm_patchram_plus_usb --patchram /lib/firmware/BCM43142A0_001.001.011.0028.0036.hcd hci0 Also I found it strange that this package writes all different ids into /sys/bus/usb/drivers/btusb/new_id because only one from the list matches my device ID bcm43142.conf: install btusb /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install btusb && echo '0a5c 21d3' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/btusb/new_id && echo '0a5c 21d7' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/btusb/new_id && echo '0a5c 21e1' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/btusb/new_id && echo '0a5c 21e3' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/btusb/new_id && hciconfig hci0 up && /usr/bin/brcm_patchram_plus_usb --patchram /lib/firmware/BCM43142A0_001.001.011.0028.0036.hcd hci0 & My lsusb: ... Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0a5c:21d7 Broadcom Corp. In conclusion: bluetooth works not nearly as good as in windows :( once I even got a complete crash of the system because of the btusb module. It's gone beyond just a buzzword now, and I think it is going to change the landscape of retail, financial services, healthcare....everything. Let me spend a moment to talk about what i'm going to talk about. Massive amounts of data are being collected every second, more than ever imaginable, and the size of this data is more than can be practically managed by today’s current strategies and technologies. There is a revolution at hand centering on this groundswell of data and it will change how we execute our businesses through greater efficiencies, new revenue discovery and even enable innovation. It is the revolution of Big Data. This is more than just a new buzzword is being tossed around technology circles.This blog series for Big Data will explain this new wave of technology and provide a roadmap for businesses to take advantage of this growing trend. Cases for Big Data There is a growing list of use cases for big data. We naturally think of Marketing as the low hanging fruit. Many projects look to analyze twitter feeds to find new ways to do marketing. I think of a great example from a TED speech that I recently saw on data visualization from Facebook from my masters studies at University of Virginia. We can see when the most likely time for breaks-ups occurs by looking at status changes and updates on users Walls. This is the intersection of Big Data, Analytics and traditional structured data. Ted Video Marketers can use this to sell more stuff. I really like the following piece on looking at twitter feeds to measure mood. The following company was bought by a hedge fund.
