• problem with image urls in htmlhelp created by docbook xsl

  I have a Docbook XML document that has some images with special characters in their names (German umlauts). I'm using Saxon 6.5.5 and the Docbook xslt Stylesheets to create HTMLHelp files based on that document. Unfortunately the filenames are then url-encoded (% and hexadecimal code), which internet explorer can't deal with (with firefox it works). I looked for a parameter which could change this feature, but couldn't find any. I also tried to save my image files using the encoded names, but this didn't work either. Does anyone know a good way around this, or will I have to simply forbid special characters in my image names?

  I am looking to reproduce the following with Formtastic: <% form_tag '/search', :method => 'get' do %> <%= text_field_tag :q, params[:q] %> <% end %> So far I have: <% semantic_form_for :search, :html => { :method => :get } do |form| %> <% form.inputs do %> <%= form.input :q %> <% end %> <% end %> However, this requires access to the parameter hash using: params[:search][:q] Instead of my required: params[:q] I'd like to use Formtastic for all forms in the application I am working on, and so far I have only had problems with this one. Any ideas?

  Hello All, I am very new to ASP.NET MVC and currently, I am involved in developing a new application in ASP.NET MVC 2. I am having problem in managing a long querystring parameters that comes from dBase. For example, in any non-mvc app the following URL works well: http ://example.com/test.aspx?first_name=fname&last_name=lname&email_id=email&address1=add1&address2=add2&city=city&state=state&zip_code=zip and so on. The QueryString parameter can be determined on the fly (i.e. at run-time). Now for dynamic QueryString how routing will be done? Also for a simple URL, the URL will be as follows (in ASP.NET MVC): http ://example.com/test/id/category But for above mentioned dynamic & long QueryString how the URL will look like? • Virtual functions and polymorphism

  Suppose I have this: class A { public: virtual int hello(A a); }; class B : public A { public: int hello(B b){ bla bla }; }; So, A it's an abstract class. 1)In the class B, I'm defining a method that its suppose overrides the A class. But the parameter it's slightly different. I'm not sure about this, is this correct? Maybe because of polymorphism, this is ok but its rather confusing. 2) If I do: A a = new B;, and then a.hello(lol); if "lol" it's not of type B, then it would give compile error?, and if it's of type A from another class C (class C : public A), what would happend? I'm confused about the overriding and virtual thing.. all examples I found work with methods without parameters. Any answer, link, or whatever it's appreciated. thanks pd: sorry for my english

  I'm writing custom SignalR client and I need to implement hub invokation. As I understood from .NET client code, I need to send post request to the following url (after establishing connection with server): http://serverurl/signalr/send?transport=serverSentEvents&connectionId=<my_connection_id> . In request body I need to send json string containing basic information about the invoked method. My question is how should this json look like? I'm trying to send smth like this (again, judging by .NET client code): {"data" : {"Hub" : "hubname", "Method" : "methodname", "Args" : {"message" : "msg"} } } But I get the following error: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: s. What am I doing wrong? What are required parameters of sending json and how should it be formatted?

Now I have developed a xtrareport, where I have to display the data of which the user enters in that textbox which I mentioned earlier. Everything works fine , only I need to just pass the value of the texbox(form1) to the report (form2). How do I tell StructureMap to construct TenantContext(tenantID); where tenantID is derived from my RouteData or some base controller property? Base Controller Given the following route: {tenant}/{controller}/{action}/{id} My base controller retrieves and stores the correct Tenant based on the {tenant} URL parameter. Using Tenant, a repository with an ITenantContext can be constructed to retrieve only data that is relevant to that tenant. Based on the other DI questions, could AbstractFactory be a solution?

• Problem with pre-beta sdk - even after reinstalling SDK 3.2

  I'm trying to upload the binary for a new app, but always get this errormessage: "The binary you uploaded was invalid. A pre-release beta version of the SDK was used to build the application." I know several people have asked a similar question, but I've tried all suggestions from the answers there without success. I used the XCode 4.0 beta 3 during development, and I've tried using it to compile for earlier releases (3.0, 3.1.3, 3.2 etc...) I've also tried downgrading to SDK 3.2, as well as removing 4.0 beta 3 and then installing SDK 3.2 as a fresh install. It seems to me that there might be some parameter in the "Edit Project Settings" that is sticking from the use of 4.0 beta 3, but I've tried to identify them without success. My last option seem to be a complete reinstall of both OS and SDK. Is there something else I might try first?

  I've noticed a discrepancy in the way that python parameters are called. In every other language I've dealt with, you either have foo() meaning either no parameters, or as many parameters as you like, or foo(arg1, arg2,...,argn) where you pass in the same number of parameters to define the function and call it. In python however, I've noticed that the function definitions, and when the function is called, can have two different parameters sets, this usually consists of: class foo(object): def bar(self, arg1, arg2): pass However, when I want to call the function, all I have to do is: zoo = foo() zoo.bar(arg1, arg2) Where did the self parameter go? • [C#] How to convert string encoded in windows-1250 to unicode ?

  Hi! I am receiving from some dll (which is wrapper for some external data source) strings in Windows-1250 codepage and I would like to insert them correctly (as unicode) to table in SQL Server Database. Since particular row in database which should hold that data is of NVarchar type, I only needed to convert it in my C# code to unicode and pass it as parameter. Everything is well and nice, but I stumbled on conversion step. I tried the following but that doesn't work: private static String getUnicodeValue(string string2Encode) // { Encoding srcEncoding = Encoding.GetEncoding("Windows-1250"); UnicodeEncoding dstEncoding = new UnicodeEncoding(); byte[] srcBytes = srcEncoding.GetBytes(string2Encode); byte[] dstBytes = dstEncoding.GetBytes(string2Encode); return dstEncoding.GetString(dstBytes); } When I insert this returned string to table, I don't get correct letters like Ð, d, C, c, C or c. However, sometimes, the bridge connection fails and I see thatin the URL, facebook attach the fb_noscript=1 parameter there. e.g. apps.facebook.com/myapp/?fb_noscript=1 when I remove it, and reload the apps, it is all good. I just don't know what I get the fb_noscript thing. and how to get rid of it.

• UDF call in entity framework is cached

  I am doing a test after reading an article http://blogs.msdn.com/alexj/archive/2009/08/07/tip-30-how-to-use-a-custom-store-function.aspx about udf function called. When I use a function with objectContext.Entities.Where( t= udf(para1, para2) == 1), here the Entities is not ObjectQuery, but an ObjectSet, the first time I call the method, it runs correctly, if I reuse the objectContext,and run it again but with different para1, para2, then the previous parameter values still cached, and the result is same as previous one, which is wrong. The sql profiler shows that both query hit the database, but the t-sql is the same. Am I missing something? And the ObjectSet does not support .where(esql_string). How to get udf working with ObjectSet? Thanks Fred

• Passing to service custom class instance in WCF

  Hi, I have my custom class Customer with its properties. I added DataContract mark above the class and DataMember to properties and it was working fine, but I'm calling a service class's function, passing customer instance as parameter and some of my properties get 0 values. While debugging I can see my properties values and after it gets to the function, some properties' values are 0. Why it can be so? There's no code between this two actions. DataContract mark workes fine, everything's ok. Any suggestions on this issue? I tried to change ByRef to ByVal, but it doesn't change anything. Why it would pass other values right and some of integer types just 0? Maybe the answer is simple, but I can't figure it out. • CodeIgniter - Disallowed Key Characters via $_GET

  I am getting echoed "Disallowed Key Characters." in my CodeIgniter when I have a http_cookie sent via GET from a SSL relay site (a payment gateway) to my application. My question is if there's any way that I can get this http_cookie through this "_clean_input_keys" method that cause this Disallowed-message and exits? The parameter contains a getenv("HTTP_COOKIE") set into a hidden input and needs to be used to keep the session alive even though it will be sent to the relay site and back again. However I am building a localised web site. How can I localized the error string? • iPhone: Changing CGImageAlphaInfo of CGImage

  I have a PNG image that has an unsupported bitmap graphics context pixel format. Whenever I attempt to resize the image, CGBitmapContextCreate() chokes on the unsupported format (Error formatted for easy reading): CGBitmapContextCreate: unsupported parameter combination: 8 integer bits/component; 32 bits/pixel; 3-component colorspace; kCGImageAlphaLast; 1344 bytes/row. The list of supported pixel formats definitely does not support this combination. It appears I need to redraw the image and move the alpha channel information to kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedFirst or kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast. I have no idea how to go about doing this. There is nothing unusual about the PNG file and it isn't corrupted. It works in all other context just fine. I encountered this error just by chance but obviously my users might have similarly formatted files so I will have to check my app's imported images and correct for this problem.

• Send parameters in order in HTTPService

  I am trying to work with a simple HTTPService. The problem is that my webservice is conscious of the order of arguments it gets. I will tell the problem with an example: var service:HTTPService = new HTTPService(); var params:Object = new Object(); params.rows = 0; params.facet = "true"; service.send(params); Note that in the above code I have mentioned the parameter rows before facet, but the url I recieve is facet=true&rows=0. So I recieve the argument rows before facet and hence my webservice does not work. I figured out that the contents of array is always sent in alphabetical order, which I dont want. Is there any way I can achieve explict ordering of parameters sent? Note that I am not in power of changing the logic of webservice(its basically a RPC service supporting both desktop and web client). Thanks.

  I am using jQuery to make an AJAX call to a ruby method in my controller. The javascript looks something like this: var latLongJSON = { "address": [ {"lat" : 50, "long" : 50} ] }; var returnedAddresses; $.ajax({ type: "GET", data: latLongJSON, url: "map/getaddresses", success: function(data) { returnedAddresses = JSON.parse(data); } }); Then in my 'getaddresses' method, my parameter coming through looks like: Parameters: {"address"=>"[object Object]"} I'm not sure what to do with this. I'm fairly new to Ruby, and I'm not sure if I need to convert this to something else, or what. Ideally I want to be able to pass in multiple sets of lat/long in the 'address' array, then be able to iterate over those in my Ruby code.

  I'm interested in using Functional MetaPost on Mac OS X: http://cryp.to/funcmp/ I'm looking for a tutorial like: http://haskell.org/haskellwiki/Haskell_in_5_steps but for a trivial FuncMP example, i.e. using GHC, I can compile something simple such as: import FMP myPicture = text "blah" main = generate "foo" 1 myPicture but I can't figure out how to view this foo.1.mp output. (It gives a runtime error about not finding 'virmp'; my MetaPost binary is 'mpost'; I can't figure out how to override this Parameter or what my .FunMP file is or should be doing...) I can run mpost on that but the output (foo.1.1) is what, PostScript? EPS? How do I use this? (I imagine I just need a simple LaTeX file with an EPS figure in it or something...) Preferably, I'd like to generate output (.ps or .pdf that I can view) so I an actually get somewhere with Functional MetaPost, learning it, playing with it, not banging my head against paths and binaries and shell commands.

I have this code try { //AN EXCEPTION IS GENERATED HERE!!! } catch { SqlService.RollbackTransaction(); throw; } Code above is called in this code try { //HERE IS CALLED THE METHOD THAT CONTAINS THE CODE ABOVE } catch (Exception ex) { HandleException(ex); } The exception passed as parameter to the method "HandleException" contains the line number of the "throw" line in the stack trace instead of the real line where the exception was generated. Anyone knows why this could be happening?
