• PPTP VPN Server issue : server = centOS & client = windows 7

  I have a CentOS server configured as a PPTP VPN Server. The client is a Windows 7 with "Use default gateway on remote network" in advanced TCP/IPv4 properties enable. He can connect to CentOS without any problem and can access to: The Box of his ISP (http://192.168.1.254/) The CentOS server The website which is hosted by the server (through http://) But he canNOT access any other web service (google.com or 74.125.230.224) I am a beginner with web servers so I do not know what can cause this problem. Note 0 : The Windows 7 user must be able to access the whole internet through the CentOS PPTP proxy. Note 1 : With "Use default gateway on remote network" in advanced TCP/IPv4 UNCHECKED it is the same problem Note 2 : With "Use default gateway on remote network" in advanced TCP/IPv4 UNCHECKED AND "disable class based route addition" CHECKED the Win 7 can access google but with the ISP IP (no use of the VPN...) • Write a recursive function in C that converts a number into a string

  I'm studying software engineering, and came across this exercise: it asks to write a recursive function in C language that receives a positive integer and an empty string, and "translates" the number into a string. Meaning that after calling the function, the string we sent would contain the number but as a string of its digits. I wrote this function, but when I tried printing the string, it did print the number I sent, but in reverse. This is the function: void strnum(int n, char *str) { if(n) { strnum(n/10, str+1); *str = n%10 + '0'; } } For example, I sent the number 123 on function call, and the output was 321 instead of 123. I also tried exchanging the two lines within the if statement, and it still does the same. I can't figure out what I did wrong. Can someone help please? NOTE: Use of while and for loop statements is not allowed for the exercise.

  Hi, i am new to servlets. I made a simple hello world programme that prints those famous 2 words to the screen when i access the page via a browser using http://localhost:8080/mypath/path... My question is now, how do i provide a servlet with information? Specifically considering the fact that my c# programme calculates a lookup value for a global system, then the "java" servlet processes that and returns a set of results. I have done the reverse thanks to help on here, regarding calling a returned string from the java servlet in c#. However i am not sure how i go about providing the servlet information. Do i pass it via the url? Thank you

• Looking for a few good C# interview problems.

  I do not want to ask candidates questions, but rather give them several problems to resolve. The reason for this is that I've seen people be excellent with theory, but when confronted by a real world c# issue, just couldn't hack it. These c# problems should be simple enough that it won't take more than 5-20 minutes to resolve, yet complicated enough that I'd be able to weed out candidates that can't code. Right now, I typically ask the applications to reverse a string and remove duplicates from a List. This alone weeds out a large number of people. Any other examples I could use?

  Hi, I'm using JQuery to select some elements on a page and then move them around in the DOM. The problem I'm having is I need to select all the elements in the reverse order that JQuery naturally wants to select them. For example: <ul> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> <li>Item 3</li> <li>Item 4</li> <li>Item 5</li> </ul> I want to select all the li items and use the .each() command on them but I want to start with Item 5, then Item 4 etc. Is this possible?   I'm thinking about encrypting MP3s in a database, so that when user is downloading them with his software desktop player, only the software can decrypt them. This part is not a problem. The problem is I don't want a user to upload an mp3 to the database, then check which changes have been made to the file so he can reverse-engineer the file or at least see which algorithm is used to encrypt the files. So, user uploads MP3-A, then it becomes MP3-B because it has been modified, and I encrypt it to MP3-C. And when decrypted, it sounds 99.99% like MP3-A. I know MP3 format is lossy, but I wonder if there's a way to convert audio with limited loss, or if I need to forget it right now.

  Hello Friends, I am writing one simple web page with bunch of textboxes and a button control. Now when user finished editing the values on this text boxes user has to click the button and this button invoke heavily process intensive algorithm on server side code based on the data received from client (Textboxes) And it could some time takes up to 30 to 45 minutes to complete the whole operation so the current thread is still inside the button click event handler function. That background task only provides one event, and the web page subscribes to it to get some text data after each stage of processing I was wandering if there is any way I can keep user up-to-date with what is the current progress on that background task. I have div element to print the current status information So I am looking for some sort of reverse mechanism then "get" and "post". I have read some articles on the Comet (programming) but I can't find any easy or definitive answer Thanks in advance

  I have a C# WebService and a (Java) Android Application. Is there a SIMPLE hash function that produces the same result between these two languages? The simplest C# hash is a String.GetHashCode(), but I can't replicate it in Java. The simplest Java hash is not simple at all. And I don't know if I can replicate it exactly in C#. In case it's relevant, I'm hashing passwords before sending it across the internet. I'm currently using Encode64, but that's obviously not secure since we can reverse it.

Wrapper is the container for the inner div's, and the rest are content oriented. So i've already implemented this with styles and all sorts, but the thing is I want to add: <div class="watermark"></div> underneath/behind both the content and video div, sort of like a reverse watermark, I've tried z-indexing but i'm not an expert.   My problem is that I have too many files in single directory. I cannot "ls" the directory, cos is too large. I need to move all files in better directory structure. I'm using the last 3 digits from ID as folders in reverse way. For example ID 2018972 will gotta go in /2/7/9/img_2018972.jpg. I've created the directories, but now I need help with bash script. I know the IDs, there are in range 1,300,000 - 2,000,000. But I can't handle regular expressions. I wan't to move all files like this: /images/folder/img_2018972.jpg -> /images/2/7/9/img_2018972.jpg I will appreciate any help on this subject. Thanks!

• How do I change the background image of my app?

  Hello I have looked around and found some code which so called chooses an image from an array of image objects, but cant find an explanation. I would like to make my app have a background image and the user can select next and previous buttons to scroll through some full screen images, setting them as the background image as they scroll. I know how to do this in java, but cant seem to do it for this app. How or what code is linked to a next button to grab the next image in the array and reverse for the back button? Then that needs to be displayed obviously. I have used a layered architecture with a MVC style approach but cant seem to put it together with Objective-C. Would the buttons call the appropriate methods of the so called delegates, which the delegates handle fetching and returning the Images? Would the buttons use the returned images and actually handle the redrawing? I would really appreciate the help. Regards Jarryd

• Perl - Choose interface to connect through

  I have 2 interfaces on my server, eth0 and eth0:0. Those are 2 different external ips and obviously 2 different reverse domains. When i open a IO::Socket::INET Perl uses the eth0 interface by default. I would like to use the second interface (eth0:0) because this has a different ip and i dont want to use my main ip/domain. I have absolutely no idea how to select which interface to connect through. • ssh tunnel through an intermediate host

  I have configured an SSH tunnel to forward my web traffic from hostA to hostC using this command on hostA: ssh -D 2222 user@hostC after configuring my browser to use a proxy on port 2222. This works great. However, I now want to forward the same traffic through an intermediate SSH connection on hostB in order to get to hostC. I tried this on hostA: ssh user@hostB -L 2222:hostB:22 but I get "channel x: open failed" errors. Does anyone know the correct way of doing this?

  I used to be visual basic 6 programmer, i was pleased with visual basic : it is high level language that do stuff fast,easy to learn, easy to do stuff in,you can drag and drop stuff to the form and write your code,it is simply amazing.however microsoft buried VB6 and pointed us to VB.NET which is so different that it is not the old VB anymore.I didn't like what microsoft did and would like to look somewhere AWAY from microsoft and from any other proprietary language . I would like to look into a similar language that is easy,cross platform (windows / Linux), object oriented, visual design, non proprietary and compile (for some guarding against reverse engineering). i am freelancer so the choice is entirely mine,i don't care about performance of programs, the time taken to develop a given programs is much more important. desktop / database / GUI /networking programming is what i am looking for. so any such language offered by our open source community ? thank you so much

  A C program source code can be parsed according to the C grammar(described in CFG) and eventually turned into many ASTs. I am considering if such tool exists: it can do the reverse thing by firstly randomly generating many ASTs, which include tokens that don't have the concrete string values, just the types of the tokens, according to the CFG, then generating the concrete tokens according to the tokens' definitions in the regular expression. I can imagine the first step looks like an iterative non-terminals replacement, which is randomly and can be limited by certain number of iteration times. The second step is just generating randomly strings according to regular expressions. Is there any tool that can do this?

  I have a newb question I'd like to ask. We have an dedicated server and we got an ipv6 /64 block. We want to use squid to make proxy and use those IP. And my question now is: Is it possible to use only one IP out of range? for example: let's say I have a range of IPs ffff:ffff::/64, and want to use only one address from it: ffff:ffff::1/128 or ffff:ffff::2/128 but whenever I set squid like this I always get from 'what is my ip' services whole subnet which is again ffff:ffff::. What I want to achieve is to get from those 'what is my ip' services to send me back IP ffff:ffff::1 (or 2 for that matter) Am I doing something wrong?

• mysql ORDER BY date_time field not sorting as expected

  I have a field in my database that stores the datetime that an item was added to the database. If I want to sort the items in reverse chronological order I would expect that doing ORDER by date_added DESC would do the trick. But this seems not to work. I also tried ORDER by UNIX_TIMESTAMP(date_added) but this still did not sort the results as I would expect. I also have an auto-increment field that I can use to sort items so I will use this, but I am curious as to why ORDER by datetime was not behaving as expected. any ideas?

  Hi, I have the following hash function, and I'm trying to get my way to reverse it, so that I can find the key from a hashed value. uint Hash(string s) { uint result = 0; for (int i = 0; i < s.Length; i++) { result = ((result << 5) + result) + s[i]; } return result; } The code is in C# but I assume it is clear. I am aware that for one hashed value, there can be more than one key, but my intent is not to find them all, just one that satisfies the hash function suffices. Any ideas? Thank you.
