• Prevent history deletion on Google Chrome

  One of the guys I'm in charge of hasn't been pulling his weight. His productivity and quality of workmanship are way down and his computer's been getting malware infections lately. You can see where this is going. I'm generally an easy going guy (and I don't want any trouble but I still have to address this issue). Is there a way to disable browser history deletion on Chrome? I'm hoping this alone will be enough of a deterrent to put things right.

  HI, I have a website which I am setting up. However, I want the first page (Home) not to have any sub menu. When I change the value of true to false all the other pages where I want the drop down to appear also disappear. I want other pages to have sub menu but not the home page. I have tried to change the xml path etc, but nothing seems to work. Can somebody please advise on this. I am new to xml and finding this very challenging. I have uploaded the config.xml and the layout xml's.   I have an Entry model which can belong to a Category.I am providing a CategoryChoicesForm sothat the user can choose from various Categorys (from a dropdown list)when an Entry is created or edited. I am having trouble with the CategoryChoicesForm while editing the Entry.It throws a TypeError.. • Server's network capabilities are going into some sort of sleep mode?

  I'm having trouble with a server (Windows Server 2008 R2) on my network. It is going down for short periods at a time, but not very often. The interesting thing: If I ping the server from my computer (we'll call this client-x) using the -t switch, I will continuously get no reply. However the second I ping client-x from the server, I can see the previous ping pick up a reply? It's almost as if pinging client-x from the server, wakes up the networking capabilities? Has anybody got any idea what is going on here?

• Can I capture input text with the P?roblem Steps Recorder on Windows 7?

  I have recently been introduced to the Problem Steps Recorder on Windows 7. It's great. Trouble is, it does not recorder keyboard input. When I look at the output of a recording all I see it User keyboard input in "Untitled - Notepad" [... Backspace Backspace Backspace Backspace Backspace ...] So I know the user typed SOMETHING and then deleted five characters. Is there a way to get the PSR to record what was inputted? Or is that a security issue? This isn't a big deal for notepad, but for custom apps it would be nice to know exactly what a user typed into a text box.

  I have a UITexetField with "Secure" option enabled in InterfaceBuilder (used to enter a password). Then I try to read, what the user entered. (void)textFieldDidEndEditing:(UITextField *)textField{ NSString *txt = textField.text; int a = 0; } It works fine with iOS 5 but since I use it in iOS6, this method no longer works - neither in simulator, nor at the real device. It was called, but textField.text returns always an empty string. With other UITextFields, without "Secure" option, it works fine. Could somebody help me ?

• replay in django + apcahce + mod_wsgi ??

  I have a simple django page that has a counter on it. I use Apache2 and mod_wsgi to serve it. First, when I enter this page, the counter shows 0, as it should. The second time when I enter the page the counter shows 1 - again, it is the right behavior. The problem begins now, cause when I enter this page the third time, I get 0 again. When I refresh it goes between 0, and 1, clearly using some cache or so. If I wait for some time and then try again, it will show 2, and 3, but will be stuck with those values, till this cache or whatever it is will be flushed, and then the counter continues. Does somebody knows how I can get it work right (the real scenario deals with getting data from the DB, but the problems with this strange cache are the same). BTW, I don't have any caching engine set in my django settings.

  Hi, I've little problem : I'm solving problem with calling function by pointer and passing to it parameters in continuous memory block. My goal is to have function named e.g CallFunc(void * func,void *params, unsigned int param_length); that I'll send function pointer, pointer to function's parameters and eventually parameters length and this calling function will call passed function with it's parameters. I will like write this in C/C++, but if somebody has idea, how this resolve in other language, that supports DLL generation and exportet functions, it will be fine too.   Possible Duplicate: trouble with opening a port to make a connection I have watched a video on how to open my ports in Windows 7. I followed the example by going to my "firewall" in "advanced settings" and I made new rules in "inbound rules" and in "outbound rules". I chose to allow connections to all ports, but if I try it with canyouseeme, then it says I can't find the configured port. Maybe it is because the site is wrong, but I don't really believe so. Could someone tell me how I open my ports so that I can connect to them and others to connect to them via the internet (if they have my ip-adress of course)?

• ipv6 ssh tunnel service for testing?

  I need to do some testing on a service that I run to make sure that it can handle ipv6 addresses. Basically, I need to connect to it from an ipv6 address. I've created a tunnel via tunnelbroker.net, but I'm finding the steps required to get a tunnel configured on my machine and router to be a lot of trouble. Given that I'm not a networking specialist and that I haven't had to dig into routing configuration in years, I'd like to know if there's an existing service that I can just ssh into and use it as my ipv6 endpoint. Simply being able to curl or wget from such an endpoint to my service would be more than enough to test what I need. Thanks!

• New 2.5" hard drive for laptop - What to compare?

  I'm having trouble finding a new (bigger) hard drive for my laptop. I came across some criteria that I never thought about before, while I was checking a price comparison site. Of course, that made me more confused. First of all, I will probably go with something above 250 GB, and at least 16 MB cache. Now the confusing part: Most new drives are 7200 RPM, as opposed to good old 5400 RPM. 7200 RPM used to mean extra heat, but suddenly it's almost impossible to find a 5400 RPM in 2.5". What did I miss? Second question: Internal data transfer rate. My old drive has a rate of around 60 MB, but new drives have values like 100 MB or more (e.g. 150 MB). How important is this "internal data transfer rate"?

Somebody in my lab is doing a content analysis (e.g. reading an article or transcript line by line and identifying relevant themes) of the web presences of various privatized neuroimaging centers (e.g. http://www.canmagnetic.com/). She's been c/ping entire site maps by hand, and I know I could slap something together with Python to follow links and dump full text (with line numbers) for her, but I've never actually done anything quite like this.   As an experienced user, I sometimes notice that things are not going well with my computer. For example, my backup drive recently started cycling up and down, so I guessed it was probably dying, and replaced it. I detected this with my ears. Windows did not seem to notice or care. There ought to be software that monitors overall system health by keeping track of things like this, so that unusual events or increasing error rates will not be shrugged off. Among other things: disk errors that are recovered, corrupt network packets (at above the baseline expected rate) and crashes of trusted programs are early warnings. Is there any software that tries to use this kind of monitoring to warn of impending trouble?

• How To Securly Store Data In MySQL Using AES_ENCRYPT

  We are storing sensitive data in MySQL, and I want to use AES_ENCRYPT(data, 'my-secret-key-here') which works great. My biggest question is how do I secure the key? Previously I just wast storing the key in a web PHP file, so something like: define("ENCRYPTION_KEY", 'my-secret-key-here'); This really doesn't work though, as our MySQL server and web server are the same physical machine, so if somebody gains access to the server, they can get both the encrypted data stored in MySQL and the key. Any ideas? I am thinking I need to move the key to a separate server, and read it in remotely. Or, what about generating the encryption key dynamically for each piece of data. For example taking the customer_id and running md5 on it, and then using that as the key.

I then have another network on the 10.NET that needs to have access to the domain on the 192.NET. I am using cisco/linksys routers. • Connections to Cotendo CDN servers are unreliable

  I've been having a lot of trouble viewing certain websites - Gawker Media, DeviantArt, etc. - and through further investigation they all appear to be using a CDN called Cotendo. On my machine, and only this one, connections reset themselves midway through the download most of the time. This is not browser-specific; even wget (Cygwin) is unable to download anything without retrying a few times. This happens inside virtual machines as well. Unfortunately, I'm pretty stumped on why this is happening. My hosts file is empty (except for a couple LAN-specific things) and I've checked a few different DNS servers, but I can't really think of anything else to try. Anyone have any ideas?

  I am really new to this and am having trouble with how I can store information from a website. I am going to be making a site similar to dropbox for my company and there is gonna be around 40 TB of space that we need to be able to access on the go, for instance pull the file up on the phone or off our laptop using the internet. Obviously using an Amazon S3 server is not the most cost effective way of doing this so how can I make my own server to hold all of the info and communicate to it from a website? • Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1). error CS0030: Cannot convert type 'Type[]' to 'Type'?

  I get this error after I created a class from my xsd file using the xsd.exe tool. So I searched the net and found a solution. Here is the link: http://satov.blogspot.com/2006/12/xsdexe-generated-classes-causing.html Problem is that this makes the code run, but somehow the deserialized data seems corrupt. I did what the site suggests and in the end the 2nd array dimension is always empty (see the comments of the site, somebody also had this problem). Question is, how do I solve this issue now? Is there another tool to create the xsd file? I tried Xsd2Code, without success. Thanks :-)

  I have a classifieds website, and on the page where ads are showed, I am creating a "Send a tip to a friend" form... So anybody who wants can send a tip of the ad to some friends email-adress.
