• Error while reading from spreadsheet in Ruby

  I am getting following error while reading from a spreadsheet file. I have searched alot on Google. I have seen posts with similar problems but no reply to the problems. Does anyone know how to resolve this error? • Android: How to copy a SQLite database from one application to another

  I have a lite version of an application that uses a SQLite database. I want to copy that database over to the full version of the application when the user installs the full version. I have written some code to perform the file copy, but the lite database file always comes up as unreadable. The file is there and I can point to it, but I can't read it to perform the copy. In the Android documentation, we read: You can save files directly on the device's internal storage. By default, files saved to the internal storage are private to your application and other applications cannot access them (nor can the user). Note the words, "by default". Is there a way that I can override that default and make the SQLite file readable by my other application? Thank you.

• WPF MediaPlayer doesn't play M4A?

  I am trying to use a MediaPlayer instance to play M4A files. For those of you that aren't familiar, MediaPlayer is the non-XAML version of a MediaElement. There are pretty much the same, but I don't want any XAML, so I use a MediaPlayer instead. Anyways, it plays some M4A files just fine. The NaturalDuration of other M4A files is 0, but it still plays. The remaining files don't play at all and the exception thrown is "Media file download failed." Playing all these songs using Windows Media Player works perfectly. Isn't the MediaPlayer and MediaElement classes built upon the same framework as WMP? I'm confused as to why it isn't working. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nick

To be more specific, the XML file is the RSS source for the nuPack project. Any ideas would be very appreaciated on how to be able to read this document properly.

• Why is the user.dir system property working in Java?

  Almost every article I read told me that you can't have chdir in Java. The accepted answer to this question says you can't do it in Java. • problems mounting an external IDE drive via USB in ubuntu

  I am having a problem connecting a specific IDE drive to my linux box. It's an old drive which I just want to get about 3 GB of files off of. INFO I am trying to connect a 200GB IDE Maxtor Drive, internally and externally... externally: I am using an self powered USB IDE external drive enclosure which I have used to connect various drives, under ubuntu and windows, in the past. The other posts stated it coudl be a problem I think i may have formatted the /dev/sdc partition instead of /dev/sdc1 partition when i originally formatted the drive. internally: I only have one machine left that has an internal IDE interface, and it's got XP on it. I plugged this drive internally into this machine with windows XP and used the ext2/ext3 drivers to mount this drive, but some files have question marks (?) in the file names which is messing up my copy process in windows. I can't delete the files under windows. Ubuntu Linux will not install on my only remaining machine that has IDE controller.   I am creating a simple email client program. I am using MS SqlCe as a storage of emails. The database schema for storing the message is as follows: StorageId int IDENTITY NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, FolderName nvarchar(255) NOT NULL, MessageId nvarchar(3999) NOT NULL, MessageDate datetime NOT NULL, StorageData ntext NULL In the StorageData field I am going to store the MIME message as byte array. But the problem arises when I am going to implement search on the stored messages. I have no idea how I am going to index the messages on top of this schema. Can anyone please help me in suggesting a good but simple schema, so that it will be effective in terms of storage space and search friendliness as well? Regards, Anindya Chatterjee

  I'm developing a CMS (with Django, but that doesn't matter) and have chosen GIT. Installations will vary in: Configs Database contents Media Templates First 3 are not a problem with git: we simply don't need these :) While developing, I have 1 default template with related media. Later, each customer will receive his own design based on default templates (some slight customization). I'm not going to support each of the custom templates as I introduce new features. Modularity helps with this but is not a 100% solution. Do you have any experience to share?

• How to prevent HTTP 304 in Django test server

  I have a couple of projects in Django and alternate between one and another every now and then. All of them have a /media/ path, which is served by django.views.static.serve, and they all have a /media/css/base.css file. The problem is, whenever I run one project, the requests to base.css return an HTTP 304 (not modified), probably because the timestamp hasn't changed. But when I run the other project, the same 304 is returned, making the browser use the file cached by the previous project (and therefore, using the wrong stylesheet). Just for the record, here are the middleware classes: MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES = ( 'django.middleware.common.CommonMiddleware', 'django.contrib.sessions.middleware.SessionMiddleware', 'django.contrib.auth.middleware.AuthenticationMiddleware', 'django.middleware.transaction.TransactionMiddleware', ) I always use the default address http://localhost:8000. Is there another solution (other than using different ports - 8001, 8002, etc.)?

  I'm looking for the best way to store per-Build configuration information for an iPhone app. In my iPhone app there are several url's and storage location settings that are specific to a particular build (DEBUG RELEASE etc) Currently i have three recipients for my app, QA/Test, myself and the customer, each has specific settings for the url's and storage locations mentioned above. whats the best way to do this? NOTE: they don't necessarily have to be defined in the build but what im looking for is advice on the best way to store alternate configuration settings. • Can I get Raid disk status by using PS?

  I have a HP server with Raid 5. Port 0 and 1 are used for data & OS mirroring. The software come with the Raid 5 is Intel Matrix Storage Manager and there is manager console as windows based api to view all the ports, including their status. Now they are all in Normal status. I am not sure if the OS/Windows has some APIs or .Net classes to access raid ports and get their status? If so, how can I use PS to get the information? Do I have to reference to the dlls provided by the Intel Matrix Storage Manager if not? Basically, I would like to write a PS script to get read status. In case any of port disk is not normal, a message will be sent out by growl protocol.

• problems mounting an external IDE drive via USB in ubuntu

  I am having a problem connecting a specific IDE drive to my linux box. It's an old drive which I just want to get about 3 GB of files off of. INFO I am trying to connect a 200GB IDE Maxtor Drive, internally and externally... externally: I am using an self powered USB IDE external drive enclosure which I have used to connect various drives, under ubuntu and windows, in the past. The other posts stated it coudl be a problem I think i may have formatted the /dev/sdc partition instead of /dev/sdc1 partition when i originally formatted the drive. internally: I only have one machine left that has an internal IDE interface, and it's got XP on it. I plugged this drive internally into this machine with windows XP and used the ext2/ext3 drivers to mount this drive, but some files have question marks (?) in the file names which is messing up my copy process in windows. I can't delete the files under windows. Ubuntu Linux will not install on my only remaining machine that has IDE controller.
