• Differences between a retail and wholesale website, and how difficult would it be to integrate them? [closed]

  I was told to come here for some guidance, I know that my questions can be quite broad, but I just really want some kind of direction to go towards (links, articles, etc). So here it goes: For the past month I have been planning and started implementing a wholesale website, but plans got changed on me and I need to allow both retail and wholesale orders which will also depend on whether the account is a regular customer or also has a seller account. There are various types of products and it has been decided that I would use subcategories as tables to organize them and allow various specific item fields. So here are some of my specific questions: How different is the database structure for each item to be available for both wholesale and retail? Will it just be adding a quantity column and have two different pricing, or much more complicated? I am unaware if there's any price tables but would that be more difficult? They use Quickbooks POS software, how difficult/inefficient will it be to update inventory quantities if they have like 2000-4000 products? And what would be the best ways to extract the information and update the system? I know it export an excel spreadsheet so maybe a suggested php plugin for it? How difficult is this project in your professional opinion, and how big should a team usually be? (At the moment it is just me.) Projected time for planning, implementation, and quality assurance in accordance to team size? I am an entry level developer and I know that I do not have enough knowledge to direct myself on this website...What kind of web developer skills will I need to find to help me? (My company is willing to hire people to get this website done as fast as possible.) Also, what would be some great questionnaires to ask the product stakeholder about what he wants from the website? (He has made it clear he is neither computer or internet savvy...) Sorry for the amount of questions, I'm an entry level web developer and do not have a senior to look up to for guidance. I have knowledge in HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin. I have never used any frameworks like Zend, Magento, etc, and is doing this all from scratch.   I have an SAP BI Portal system and an SAP BW system. In the Visual Administrator of the BI Portal, section 'JCo RFC Provider' I have created some RFC listeners. In the SAP BW system (in transaction SM59), I have created, tested and activated the relevant RFC connections. When I start a JCo RFC Provider in the BI Portal the BW system that it communicates with produces these errors (displayed from SAP transaction SM21): Operating system call recv failed (error no. 104 ) Module nam Line Error text Caller.... Reason/cal nixxi.cp 5087 recv104 NiIRead recv Documentation for system log message Q0 I : The specified operating system call was returned with an error. For communication calls (receive, send, etc) often the cause of errors are network problems. It could also be a configuration problem at operating system level. (file cannot be opened, no space in the file system etc.).   Hi, My W2K3 server was running TFS 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Development edition. I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard. I installed it while leaving SQL Server 2005 alone. Upgrading was not possible due to the differences in editions of the SQL Servers. Now TFS is broken. On a client computer, if I go Team - Connect to Team Foundation Server, I get this error: Team Foundation services are not available from server myserver. • SQL Server: How to shrink FileStream files?

  For a project, I'm using a SQL Server 2008 R2. One table has a filestream column. I've made some load tests, and now the database has ~20GB used. I've empty tables, except several(configuration tables). But my database was still using a lot of space. So I used the Task -> Shrink -> Database / Files But my database is still using something like 16GB. I found that it's the filestream file is still using a lot of space. The problem is that I need to backup this database to export it on the final production server, and event if I indicate to compress the backup I got a file more than 3.5Go. Not convenient to store and upload. And I'm planning much bigger test, so I want to know how to shrink that empty space. When I'm trying: I get this exception: The properties SIZE, MAXSIZE, or FILEGROWTH cannot be specified for the FILESTREAM data file 'FileStreamFile'. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 5509) So what should I do? I found several topics with this error but they was about removing the filestream column.

• SQL Server Management Studio not scripting all objects

  i've been attempting to script a database using SQL Server 2005 Management Studio. i cannot get it to script some objects. It scripts others, but skips some. i can provide detailed screen shots the options being selected including all tables the folder where the script files will go the folder being empty before scripting the scripting process saying Sucess when scripting a table the destination folder no longer empty, with a hundred or so script files the script of some tables not being in the folder. And earlier SSMS would not script some views. Is this a known thing that the the Generate Scripts task does not generate scripts? Update Known issue on Microsoft Connect, but Microsoft couldn't repro the steps, so they closed closed the ticket. Fails on SQL Server 2005, also fails on SQL Server 2008. SQL Server Enterprise Manager can script the objects fine. Update Three They fail no matter what version of SQL Server you script against. • Problem while Installing mysql cluster

  I downloaded latest mysql cluster file 64 bit (mysql-cluster-gpl-7.1.9-linux-x86_64-glibc23) from mysql site. Ran following command to install mysql server. /home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc/scripts/mysql_install_db --no-defaults --basedir=/home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc --datadir=/home/mysql_cluster/my_cluster/mysqld_data It's giving following issues. /home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc/scripts/mysql_install_db: line 245: /home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc/bin/my_print_defaults: No such file or directory Neither host 'db' nor 'localhost' could be looked up with /home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc/bin/resolveip Please configure the 'hostname' command to return a correct hostname. If you want to solve this at a later stage, restart this script with the --force option My host is pinging and hostname command gives correct hostname. I tried also with --force option force but still not working giving following issues: /home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc/scripts/mysql_install_db: line 245: /home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc/bin/my_print_defaults: No such file or directory Installing MySQL system tables... /home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc/scripts/mysql_install_db: line 393: /home/mysql_cluster/mysqlc/bin/mysqld: No such file or directory Installation of system tables failed! Examine the logs in /home/mysql_cluster/my_cluster/mysqld_data for more information. It says above files doesn't exist but this files are present checked with ls command. We are using XEN VM with 64 bit debian lenny os. How this issue can be resolved ?
