  • Passing parameters from android to .Net Web Service

    I have an Android application that uses kSoap in connecting to my web services. This particular one is passing in a string value as a parameter, then my web service will use that parameter to query my database via a stored procedure. Problem is, I know how to pass the parameter from android, but I don't know how to retrieve it in my .Net(vb) web service and use it. Anyone have any code examples or a link to a tutorial to help me out? Thanks!

Here are the steps: Create jar file from the source files jar -cf lib.jar *.java Copy jar file to libs folder Right click, Build Path-Add to Build path Now, compiler gives unresolved symbols if I try to use a class from the jar file? Can someone please let me know correct method to create and use an external jar file for the Android project under eclipse.

  • How to get bluetooth RSSI on android after discovery

    I'm trying to write a program that can read the signal strength of a bluetooth device linked to my android 2.0 handset. Doesnt seem like android exposes anyway to get the RSSI unless it is during discovery. Is there any other way to get the signal strength of the device after the device has been detected? I read of a way to do it using NDK to access the underlying BlueZ API, but I dont know how to use that. Any help would be appreciated.

One of the most popular question, I often receive is very similar to following: “How do I reset the password for SA username?” “I have forgotten the SA password, what should I do?” “Our DBA just left the job and now noone knows how to reset the SA password. Please help.” Solution Honestly, it is pretty simple to reset the password for SA username. You just have to login to the system where your SQL Server is installed. Open SQL Server Management Studio and login with the help of Windows Authentication. As local system is the admin of the SQL Server, you will get access with administration privileges. Now, open the database, expand Security >> Login folder and right click over SA username. Now, it will bring up the screen where you can change the password for SA.   • Android - Attempt to write in a readonly database when I open it readonly

    i don't understand this at all. I try to open a db located in my SD card this way: db = SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase(myPath, null, SQLiteDatabase.NO_LOCALIZED_COLLATORS | SQLiteDatabase.OPEN_READONLY); But in that very line it throws this exception: android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: attempt to write a readonly database It doesen't happen in my other devices, just this one that has android 2.3.3

    Hi, In android 2.1, if we enable pattern lock, then the screen lock (slide to unlock) is not displayed and if pattern lock is disabled then screen lock is enabled again. Can someone point me out the java file in framework and the function where this happens. I mean when the screen is about to get locked, how does android decide that whether it will display pattern lock or screen lock and if pattern lock, how it prevents the screen lock from getting displayed.

  • Would it be possible to speed up Android Emulator by removing unnecessary apps\

    I am using Android SDK 1.6 and developing some simple apps. It seems everytime Android Emulator loads every default apps, like message music browser etc... I guess this cause the booting process slow (takes 1 minute overhead for me to test the code every time). Would it be possible to take these apps out and just have my apps on the emulator? My purpose is to have a faster boot up time on emulator. Thanks.

  • Seeking during mp3 streaming on Android

    I've got an android app that plays mp3s over HTTP. I give the Mediaplayer a URL using setDataSource, then call start in onPrepared, and all is well. Now, I'm trying to implement seeking. When i call seekTo, I don't see the Mediaplayer make a second request using the Range header to my webserver. From reading around, it seems like Android supports this. Do I need to do anything extra to get it to work? Thanks

    I have the following TextView in my XML layout file:- <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/autolink_test" android:autoLink="all" /> The string autolink_test contains a phone number, an email address, a website address and a physical geographical address. While the first three are showing up correctly as clickable autolinks, the address does not. Only the zipcode part shows up as an autolink... and that too as a phone number! (When I click it, the phone dialer starts up with that number). Any help would be appreciated.

    Here's a quote from Android's Dev Guide: A central feature of Android is that one application can make use of elements of other applications (provided those applications permit it). For example, if your application needs to display a scrolling list of images and another application has developed a suitable scroller and made it available to others, you can call upon that scroller to do the work, rather than develop your own. Isn't it a bad practice to make an app dependent on other apps?
