    If you wanted to re-create the DOM server-side and manipulate it in PHP, how would you choose to go about it? I'm looking for a fast, multi-user complete server-side web browser that can interface with PHP and run complete Javascript. Like Jaxer but something I can use with PHP... an extension would be fine, or even an Apache mod. Ideas?

  • PHP and Permissions

    Hi, I recently moved my website to a new host and now am experiencing some broken code.. I have an uploading script that is now returning this: move_uploaded_file() failed to open stream: Permission denied in *.. I've set the upload directory to 777 which worked fine, but my script is needed to have top level permissions.. (As the script itself sets permission to directories, does lots of copying etc) Is there a way in apache I can set the PHP script to the owner of all the folders on my server? Thanks

What are the downsides to a manual approach, e.g. something like: AddEncoding x-gzip .gz RewriteCond %{HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING} gzip RewriteRule ^/css/styles.css$ /css/styles.css.gz (Note: I'm aware that the specifics of that RewriteCond need to be tweaked slightly)

    my hostname is newton ...when I set "127.0.0.1 Newton" in /etc/hosts .. parallels stops working.. when I set "127.0.0.1 localhost" in /etc/hosts apache installed via ports stops working.. when I add both '"127.0.0.1 localhost", and "127.0.0.1 newton" to hosts file.. parallels network doesnt work

So that I can scale the application across a number of servers, what would be the best way to set up Apache to always serve the same subdomains from the same server?     I have a drupal site install at example.com/drupal but now that the site is built I want to forward all requests to that directory, without it ever showing "drupal" in url. I think this can be done with .htaccess, but I didn't know if that was a hack-y answer. I'm using mediatemple's GridServer so I don't have complete control over apache settings and stuff, although I do have SSH.
