• How do I choose files from the local filesystem in Windows Phone 7

  I'm trying to choose some files to upload in Windows Phone 7 (in the emulator), and any attempt to ShowDialog of the OpenFileDialog leads to a Security Exception. The open file dialog is being called from an event on a button click but I get a SecurityException [FileDialog_ActiveScripting] Arguments: Debugging resource strings are unavailable. Often the key and arguments provide sufficient information to diagnose the problem.   Hi, I have a dll file, and i took an object from it and called the functions inside this dll by the object, like this way: Command testClass = (Command)assembly.CreateInstance(creatObject); testClass.Execute(); anyway, the i used reflection from some reason. so i need to use invoke function & set values for variables, then calling the basic function Execute.   Hi, I want to use JPA (eclipselink) to get data from my database. The database is changed by a number of other sources and I therefore want to go back to the database for every find I execute. I have read a number of posts on disabling the cache but this does not seem to be working. Any ideas? I am trying to execute the following code: EntityManagerFactory entityManagerFactory = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("default"); EntityManager em = entityManagerFactory.createEntityManager(); MyLocation one = em.createNamedQuery("MyLocation.findMyLoc").getResultList().get(0); MyLocation two = em.createNamedQuery("MyLocation.findMyLoc").getResultList().get(0); System.out.println(one==two); one==two is true while I want it to be false. • Java service wrapper and additional application command line parameters

  I'm currently using java service wrapper to wrap a java application that I've developed. I'm needing to ability to pass in additional command line parameters to my application through the java service wrapper. Pretend my app is called myapp and I've setup java service wrapper so that the script I run to start is called myapp. I'd like to be able to do something like this: ./myapp start Parameter1 parameter2 and have those additional parameters get passed into my application. Any ideas how to do this? I'm finding that googling and looking at the documentation is only pulling up how to use command line arguments to setup java service wrapper. I've had difficulty finding anything about passing command line arguments to your application except for having them hard coded in your wrapper.conf file. Right now I feel like my option is to take the additional command line parameters, set them to environment variables and have those hard coded in the wrapper.conf. I'd prefer not to go down that road though and am hoping I've overlooked something.

If the parameter is a value type, this works: var methodCall = (MethodCallExpression)method.Body; var parameterValue = ((ConstantExpression)methodCall.Arguments[0]).Value; However, when I pass in a reference type, methodCall.Arguments[0] is a MemberExpression, and I can't seem to figure out how to write code to get the value out of it.

  Hi, In my program, I'm grep-ing via NSTask. For some reason, sometimes I would get no results (even though the code was apparently the same as the command run from the CLI which worked just fine), so I checked through my code and found, in Apple's documentation, that when adding arguments to an NSTask object, "the NSTask object converts both path and the strings in arguments to appropriate C-style strings (using fileSystemRepresentation) before passing them to the task via argv[]" (snip). The problem is that I might grep terms like "Río Gallegos". Sadly (as I checked with fileSystemRepresentation), that undergoes the conversion and turns out to be "RiÃÅo Gallegos". BTW: please help me to make the question more obvious, because I couldn't find the best words to describe the problem.

• What can explain std::cout not to display anything ?

  For whatever reason, std::cout does not display anything with my application. The description of my development environment follows. I am working on a Qt application using Qt Creator. Since Qt Creator can't be launched from my station (XP64), i am currently developping it with Visual Studio 2008 and the Qt plugin (by importing the .pro project file). Everything seems fine and the application works. In some cases (depending on command line arguments), i don't want to launch the HIM, just to display a few sentences in the CLI (command line required arguments, for instance). I don't get any error, but nothing is displayed. The corresponding code, which i am sure is run is the (classical) following : std::cout << "is this going to be displayed ?" << std::endl; Do you have any idea why nothing is displayed ?

• db:migrate creates sequences but doesn't alter table?

  Hello, I have a migration that creates a postres sequence for auto incrementing a primary identifier, and then executes a statement for altering the column and specifying the default value: execute 'CREATE SEQUENCE "ServiceAvailability_ID_seq";' execute <<-SQL ALTER TABLE "ServiceAvailability" ALTER COLUMN "ID" set DEFAULT NEXTVAL('ServiceAvailability_ID_seq'); SQL If I run db:migrate everything seems to work, in that no errors are returned, however, if I run the rails application I get: Mnull value in column "ID" violates not-null constraint I have discovered by executing the sql statement in the migration manually, that this error is because the alter statement isn't working, or isn't being executed. If I manually execute the following statement: CREATE SEQUENCE "ServiceAvailability_ID_seq; I get: error : ERROR: relation "serviceavailability_id_seq" already exists Which means the migration successfully created the sequence! However, if I manually run: ALTER TABLE "ServiceProvider" ALTER COLUMN "ID" set DEFAULT NEXTVAL('ServiceProvider_ID_seq'); SQL It runs successfully and creates the default NEXTVAL. So the question is, why is the migration file creating the sequence with the first execute statement, but not altering the table in the second execute? • How to export scrubyt extractor?

  I've written a scrubyt extractor based on the 'learning' technique - that is, specifying the current text on the page and getting it to work out the XPath expressions itself. However, I now want to export the extractor so that it can be used even when the page has changed. The documentation for scrubyt seems to be all over the place now, but from what I can find I should be able to put the line extractor.export(__FILE__) and it should work. It doesn't - I just get an error saying that there is the wrong number of arguments for export, it should have 0. I've tried it without any arguments and it still fails. I would ask on the scrubyt forum, but it seems like no-one's been there for ages! Any ideas what to do here?

  I'd like to have a dynamic messaging system in my C++ project, one where there is a fixed list of existing events, events can be triggered anywhere during runtime, and where you can subscribe callback functions to certain events. There should be an option for arguments passed around in those events. For example, one event might not need any arguments (EVENT_EXIT), and some may need multiple ones (EVENT_PLAYER_CHAT: Player object pointer, String with message) The first option for making this possible is allowing to pass a void pointer as argument to the event manager when triggering an event, and receiving it in the callback function. Although: I was told that void pointers are unsafe and I shouldn't use them. How can I keep (semi) dynamic argument types and counts for my events whilst not using void pointers?

More types than the current int or string might have to be introduced at any time. The same goes for functions with more arguments than 4. The current number of identical functions is barely manageable. Add one more variant in either dimension and the combinatoric explosion will be so huge, it might blow away the application. In C++, I'd templatize g() and be done. I understand that .NET generics are different. <sigh> But I have been fighting them for two hours trying to come up with a solution that doesn't involve too much copy&paste of code. To no avail. Surely, C#/.NET/generics/whatever won't require me to type out identical code for a family of functions taking five arguments of either of three types? So what am I missing here?

  iam using the swt java library and iam having a problem. the gc draw arc method takes the following arguments GC.drawArc(int x, int y, int width, int height, int startAngle, int endAngle); but i want to be able to draw the arc using 3 arguments : the source ,destination and control points. is there any formula to convert between those parameters ? QuadCurve2D class do exactly what i want but it is not AWT not swt ...and i tried to use java2d under swt but it was very slow .... any solutions ?

LAME and the compiled code reside in the same directory when installed. Help!

• Can't use ProcessWindowStyle.Minimized to start Firefox instance minimized?

  I'm having trouble using Process.Start with Firefox. I want to start a new instance of Firefox in a minimized window. The following works fine with Internet Explorer, notepad, etc.: ProcessStartInfo p = new ProcessStartInfo(); p.FileName = "iexplore.exe"; p.Arguments = "http://www.google.com"; p.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Minimized; Process.Start(p); This opens IE in a new, minimized window. Good, just what I want. If I try the exact same thing but instead supply Firefox in the p.FileName, it opens Firefox in a "normal" window, rather than minimized. I've tried various changes to arguments, also have tried examining my local Firefox settings (under Tools/Options) with no luck. I'm sure I'm just missing something simple, but can't figure out what it is. If anyone can help me with getting Firefox opened in a minimized state it would be greatly appreciated!

  Hey all, I am trying to use the date command in Terminal on multiple Mac OS X machines that are synced via NTP to synchronize some code in a program. Essentially I am running a program... MyProgram with arguments[date] I can get date to give me the seconds since the Unix epoch with the %M specifier. When I try to use %N to get nanosecond resolution, date just returns N. Is there anyway to get date to give me finer then second resolution? I wouldn't even mind passing two arguments such as (date +%M):arg2 And then converting units in the program.   We are using Spring security in our application with support for username / password based authentication as well as Open id based authentication. The issue is that google gives a different open id for the return url specified and we have at least 2 different entry points in our application from where open id is configured into our system.
