jQuery Validate - Require at least one from group, plus additional items.

I'm attempting to use 'jQuery Validate' on a form that requires an email address plus either all items of a shipping address completed or none at all. Using the sample provided by the solution to this question: jQuery Validate - “Either skip these fields, or fill at least X of them”, I have been able to successfully solve the validation of the address group. The problem, however, is that the logic for validating the email address field does not work. From debugging the Validate scripts, the "re-entrant" validation code triggered by calling 'fields.data('being_validated', true).valid();' in the linked example results in a reset of all previously validated errors (i.e. the email validation error is cleared). I have modified some existing samples, the first in which removes the offending line and the second with it included. I have a client who wants his custom-written CRM to be able to access his sales people's emails so that, effectively, a history of email conversations between customer and salesperson is stored inside the CRM's database. The CRM is written in VB 2008 and the database is SQL Server 2008. The only email these people use, in the shop and on the road, is GMAIL. Each sales person has their own GMAIL address. Thats how they operate. If they're on the road and respond to a customer's email inquiry about a product, they would like that email conversation to be stored in a table in the database. I think thats the part I cant wrap my head around. How to get access to the email data (knowing the user id and password) and doing so from VB 2008

Google App Engine - Dealing with concurrency issues of storing an object

My User object that I want to create and store in the datastore has an email, and a username. How do I make sure when creating my User object that another User object doesn't also have either the same email or the same username? If I just do a query to see if any other users have already used the username or the email, then there could be a race condition. UPDATE: The solution I'm currently considering is to use the MemCache to implement a locking mechanism. I would acquire 2 locks before trying to store the User object in the datastore. First a lock that locks based on email, then another that locks based on username. Since creating new User objects only happens at user registration time, and it's even rarer that two people try to use either the same username or the same email, I think it's okay to take the performance hit of locking. I'm thinking of using the MemCache locking code that is here: http://appengine-cookbook.appspot.com/recipe/mutex-using-memcache-api/ What do you guys think?

I have Class Email, there is parameter "bcc" in her construktor. Its actually list of emails for copies. There is no fixed number of these emails and later i have to have possibility to extend this list. //construktor prototype Email::Email(vector<string> bcc) So i want to use type vector or list for that and function push_back(). How can i make a new instance with bcc emails? I need actually declaration with definition for my list. I've found this definition with iterator for integer type: int myints[] = {16,2,77,29}; Email myEmail(vector<int> (myints, myints + sizeof(myints) / sizeof(int) )); , but its not very user friend and i need it with strings. Laravel: validation for unique username issue

I have a noodle scratcher that I can't seem to figure out. I am validating for unique usernames and emails addresses. I have the following rules: protected $rules = array( 'username' => 'required|min:4|unique:users,username', 'email' => 'email|unique:users,email', 'password' => 'min:6', ); If I update a form that has the username (which is the same as it currently is), I get a The username has already been taken. error. If I do the same with the email, I get no error at all. I know about adding the last param to the unique validation: 'unique:users,username,{{$id}}' or 'unique:users,username,'.$id This doesn't work on the username. I get the same issue. I can't figure out why this works for the email, but not the username. Anyone had a similar issue or know where I am going wrong? Many thanks,

When I try to use iptables command on one of my Rackspace cloud server, I'm getting the following error. TB3.0.10: Messages being sent back to me

Hello, I don't know if this will make any sense to you; but here goes. When I send an email and I get a response, more often than not, in the 'to:' is my email address. However, my email address also ends up in the 'from' column.The 'reply-from' address is nowhere to be found;so I don't have any address with which I can send my reply, as both of them have just my email address. What am I doing wrong here? Is there some set-up in my TOOLOPTIONS set-up incorrectly? The set-up in OPTIONS is pretty difficult to understand and it doesn't offer any 'to' or 'reply-from' choices. This is critical because I just cannot answer my emails because there is no one I can send a reply to. Please, please try to help me. iPhone App : Storing / Saving personal preferences once per App

Hi, I want to store / save personal preference settings like Email, Phone number for an App. I have few forms which send info by Email to my ID. I want to know the Email & Phone number of user so I can contact this person if need be. I don't want users to keep entering their Email ID & Phone No. everytime in each form. It's wise to take these inputs (Email & Phone) just once per device / per App installed on the device. I am trying to use .plist for this purpose. I have no success. How do I do it? to simplify, I got a database of registered users, I want to count how many emails there are for each email domain name (note I do not know all domain names) for example, Users table- id | email ------------------ 1 | [email protected] 2 | [email protected]<--unknown to me 3 | [email protected]<--unknown to me 4 | [email protected] 5 | [email protected]<--unknown to me 6 | [email protected] 7 | [email protected] 8 | [email protected] ( note: I want to count each email without specifying which email exactly ) so the result I want is suffix | count hotmail.com | 3 somesite.aaa | 2 unknownsite.aaa| 1 yahoo.com | 2 again, I stress this, I do not know unknownsite.aaa nor can i mention it in a statement because it is unknown to me, i hope I am clear. So essentially I want to make a statistic of what my website users use as an email host website. but like I said and I will repeat the third time, I do not know every mailhost that exists. I am going to investigate this more, I have a feeling this is something mysql cannot handle.

Are there any resources for motion-planning puzzle design?

Some background: I'm poking at a set of puzzles along the lines of Rush Hour/Sokoban/etc; for want of a better description, call them 'motion planning' puzzles - the player has to figure out the correct sequence of moves to achieve a particular configuration. (It's the sort of puzzle that's generically PSPACE-complete if that actually helps anyone's mental image). While I have a few straightforward 'building blocks' that I can use for puzzle crafting and I have a few basic examples put together, I'm trying to figure out how to avoid too much sameness over a large swath of these kinds of puzzles, and I'm also trying to figure out how to make puzzles that have more of a feel of logical solution than trial-and-error. Does anyone know of good resources out there for designing instances of this sort of puzzle once the core puzzle rules are in place? Most of what I've found on puzzle design only covers creating the puzzle rules, not building interesting puzzles out of a set of rules.

Design Pattern for Data Validation

What would be the best design pattern for this problem: I have an Object A. Object A can either be registered or deleted from the database depending on the user request. Data validation is performed before registration or deletion of the object. There are a set of rules to be checked before the object can be registered and another set of rules for deletion. Some of these rules are common for both operations. So far, I think the Chain of Responsibility design pattern fits the most but I'm having trouble implementing it.

what im trying to achieve is that when an admin views a list of members, they can click a link to resend the instructions on how to confirm that members accounts. this is the code im using to try and achieve this = link_to 'Resend Confirmation', confirmation_path(:user => {:email => user.email}), :remote => :true im hoping that this would allow me to pass the users email through to the link have it then sent to that user though the issue im getting is Could not find a valid mapping for {:user=>{:email=>"[email protected]"}}

Automator / AppleScript to process incoming emails in Mac Mail

Hello all, I'm designing an app that allows users to email me crash reports if my app ever crashes. I'd like to leave Mac Mail running on a computer and when an email comes through, an automator script / AppleScript runs to process the contents of the body of the email. I've got the entire parsing/processing done in a python script, except I have to manually copy the contents of the email into a file and then run my parser on that file. What's the best way to set this up so I can the contents of the email be pushed into my parsing script? Many thanks!

Rails: How to have dynamic association

I'll use an example to explain what behaviour I would like to achieve. If you had a project management app and you added a task, but not all the contributors are users of the app. So when you adding contributors to the task you can enter a user name or email address. Here is the part that I'm finding a little tricky. The task model has many contributors which are linked through the user model, but from this point on I want to achieve 2 things. Store the non members email(this would obviously be quite simple) If that email address was to create an account it would then link that user to the task and remove the temporally saved email. This way, when that user creates an account all the related tasks will already be associated with their email. Is this something that i could achieve with a polymorphic association? or is there something else I should be looking at?
