  • MySQL database Int overflow and can’t login in.

    I have a MySQL database on my server and I"m pretty sure it's an int over flow on one table with an auto_increment field that's crashing it. I can delete the table, it's not very important, but I can't get into the server. Is there anyway to delete that database from the file system or without logging into MySQL? HELP!   • GUI tool to extract iso file contents on Linux (KDE)

    I have an ISO CD image file and want to extract it's contents to a folder. I know there are ways to mount the image and stuff, but it's complicated. I'm looking for a GUI tool to open up the contets and extract needed files. On windows I would use WinRar to do this. K3B only allows me to burn the stuff, Arch does not work with ISO files :( Is there a similar tool on Linux, preferably from KDE world?

I'm just writing my own file analyzer for general purpose, which can dump JPEG, PNG, EXE, ELF, ASN.1 DER encoded files, etc. in tree style. There are so many file formats in the world that I can't handle them all. So I'm wondering if there's some software already there, with pluggable architecture and a large established file format repository?

    When subversion attempts to connect to an https URL, the underlying protocol library (openssl) attempts to start the secure protocol negotiation at the most basic level, plain SSL. Unfortunately, I have to connect to a server that requires SSL3 or TLS1, and refuses to respond to SSL or SSL2. I’ve done some troubleshooting using s_client and confirmed that if I let s_client start with the default protocol the server never responds to the CLIENT HELLO: $ openssl s_client -connect server.domain.com:443 CONNECTED(00000003) write:errno=104 --- no peer certificate available --- No client certificate CA names sent --- SSL handshake has read 0 bytes and written 320 bytes --- New, (NONE), Cipher is (NONE) Secure Renegotiation IS NOT supported Compression: NONE Expansion: NONE --- Watching this in Wireshark I see: Client Server -------syn----------> <------ack----------- ---CLIENT HELLO-----> <------ack----------- [60 second pause] <------rst----------- If I tell s_client to use ssl2 the server immediately closes the connection. Only ssl3 and tls1 work. Is there any way to configure openssl to skip SSL and SSL2, and start the negotiation with TLS or SSL3? I've found the OpenSSL config file, but that seems to control only certificate generation.

    I'm trying to automatize some configurations I have with bash script, I've never done this before so I tried with something easy like a Hello World! and everything works just fine, but then I tried something like this: #!/bin/bash sudo su apt-get purge postfix and it doesn't do anything, I check and postfix is still installed, and at any time it asks for any entry of mine, I just tried with apt-get but I'll do things like ssh-keygen or even write files I guess with cat or something, how could I do the script working and also seeing what's going on?

    I'm trying out nginx and porting my existing apache configuration to nginx. I have managed to reroute the codeigniter url's successfully, but I'm having a problem with one particular controller whose name coincides with a directory in site root. I managed to make my codeigniter url's work as it did in Apache except that, I have a particular url say http://localhost/hello which coincides with a hello directory in site root. Apache had no problem with this. But nginx routes to this directory instead of the controller. My reroute structure is as follows http://host_name/incoming_url => http://host_name/index.php/incoming_url All the codeigniter files are in site root.   • How do I disable animations in Preview in Lion?

    For example, open up a pdf and set view to two pages and hit arrow key up/down. Is there a way to get rid of the animation? Preview feels really snappy and fast, and to have animations like that just spoils all the fun. Might seem like a proper first world problem, especially if you're just a casual user of pdfs. But I frequently have 10+ pdfs open for referencing purposes (that is, a lot of flicking back and fourth), and the animation just drives me nuts.

  • Sound has stopped working after upgrading to Windows 8

    I upgraded my (fairly new, about 2 months old) computer to Windows 8 last night, and now the sound has stopped working across the entire machine. I have checked using multiple programs (iTunes, YouTube, World of Warcraft, etc) and multiple output devices (speakers and headset), checked the soundcard drivers (Asus Xonar DG 5.1), checked the volume mixer to ensure I wasn't just having a brainfart and had the sound muted, but nothing's working. Does anyone have any advice on what could be causing this? Thanks Max

The next largest competitor, OverSi, can barely handle a tenth of that. Where do you get your information that PeerApp "doesn't suit scale"?

I had a look around my local PC World today and only the more expensive drives explicitly state on the packaging that they were Mac compatible. Is this just because these products have been through Apple's hardware approval/testing programme, or do Mac's have some special requirement?
