    I'm trying to configure the cygwin to work with TWiki, I have to input this in the Cygwin bash shell: mount -b -s c:/... but it doesn't recognize the -s, I already fixed the problem with -b, it changed the syntax and now is mount -o binary for the mount -b part. But now it says unknown option with the "-s" anyone?? help?? or what does the -s mean, so I can look it up :S

Not sure what went wrong, I do have "C:/data/apache/modules/mod_wsgi.so" Thanks for any help.

    Hello, I've just installed ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop its all great but the screen resolution is a bit crap i have it set 1200:800 and when i do xrandr it indicates that the i can have a bigger screen resolution but i dont seem to to be able to increase it more 1200:800. another interesting thing is that xorg.conf does not exist on the /etc/X11/ is there a way to increase the screen resolution for Sony laptops? the graphics card is Intel Graphics Please help!

I'm after a rough estimate because my installation seems to be running quite slowly (previously, I've installed Win7 32bit on a laptop and it went much quicker but maybe there are differences between 32 and 64 bit editions).

  • System beeps continuously if both RAM sticks inserted

    I have two sticks of OCZ 2GB PC2 9600 RAM. When I attempt to boot with both sticks inserted, I am met with a continuous string of system beeps (and no bootup). The system boots fine when only one stick is inserted, but obviously that leaves me with less RAM than I'd like to have. What could the problem be?   • Adding autocomplete options to auctex C-c C-e?

    When I'm using auctex with emacs to write LaTeX documents, I would like to be able to add a couple more options to the list of environment types that auctex "recognises" and can autocomplete, namely Theorem, Lemma, Proof, itemize* and a couple of others. Which variable to I need to edit? I have played around in customize-apropos LaTeX and auctex, but I haven't found it. (lisp code snippet to add to my .emacs would be preferred, I don't quite understand the syntax yete)

Is there a utility program that allows for sending ASCII characters on the USB port that the RS232C device will understand? If possible, I'd rather avoid programming.     My text and programmers editor of choice, when working on a windows box is TSE (The Semware Editor). It is small, it is fast, it is configurabel, and since I've used it (and it's predecessor QEdit) for over twenty years, my fingers can do the editing on autopilot, while the brain is busy with syntax and design. Do you know of a similar editor preferably one that runs on Windows, Linux and OS X (and Solaris ..) I've tried to use VIM (I know how to use VI even longer thant TSE) but it doesn't feel right.

    I'm trying to set up my brother–who has a PPC Mac with 1 GHz processor and 256 MB RAM–with a Linux distro that would allow him to surf the web on the device. If anyone knows of this Mac, they also know that support has faded for the latest browsers, rendering the device essentially useless when it comes to the web.     I want to deploy IBM System x servers (like IBM System x 3550 M2) automatically and need to set a security password in the bios (actually it's uefi). I found this nice tool named ASU: http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/supportsite.wss/docdisplay?brandind=5000008&lndocid=MIGR-55021 Unfortunately I cannot see an option to set the password. Forum searches only show me people who want to reset the password using this tool. Does anybody know how to automatically deploy system passwords on IBM Intel-based servers?

When i use inxi -A i get the following result: Audio: Card-1: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Cayman/Antilles HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 6900 Series] driver: snd_hda_intel Card-2: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) driver: snd_hda_intel Sound: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture ver: 1.0.24 My feeling tells me my sound output is on the HDMI instead of my jackplug on my motherboard. How can i change this to my motherboard sound output?
