• Drupal, Video: why the thumbnails image src links to a video instead of an image ?

  hi, I'm using Video module with CCK Video Upload field and I want to play videos in a lightbox when the user clicks on video thumbnails. • Permutation on Rails Routes

  I currently have an application that for a set of parameters (location, category, budget, ...) a user can enter a "pretty" URL like: /location/canada/ontario /category/primary /budget/small Resulting in the respective parameters: params[:country] == 'canada' and params[:region] == 'ontario' params[:category] == 'primary' params[:budget] == 'small' I want to allow users to perform searches on multiple parameters at once (with each parameter optional). For example: /location/canada/ontario/category/primary/budget/small I understand that this can be achieved using URL parameters, but for SEO reasons I prefer to add the "pretty" parameters. Is this at all possible without listing all possible combination of routes (I have a large number of search-able fields)? I understand that route "globbing" maybe play a roll, but I am not sure how. • Determining which video format to use

  I want to upload a video file and convert it to flash and 3gp/mp4. No problem, plenty of tuts for this out there using paperclip and ffmpeg. For some reason I thought there was a tut that showed if std browser play flv but if mobile then use 3gp/mp4 but can't seem to find it. Any one know if there is a tut like this out there? Else, Can I tell paperclip which is flv and 3gp/mp4. Then later call something in the view like video_url(:flv) or video_url(:mp4) or set this globally if mobile?

• Should I be worried about sending Apk to client before getting paid?

  I am working on an Android app for a client. The app is practically finished, and next week I'll have a meeting with the client to present it. He'll test everything, and upon approving it he will make the payment and I'll give him the source code and publish it on Google Play. Today he called me asking for the Apk so that he can start testing it. I am worried that if we don't close the deal (for one reason or another) he might get someone to reverse engineer the Apk and get my source code/app anyway, even if obfuscated with ProGuard (I never tried, but according to this SO thread it's not that difficult to reverse engineer an Apk). My question: Am I being paranoid here and should just send the client the Apk (cause perhaps the ProGuard obfuscation is enough to make the source code useless) , or are my worries reasonable and I should stick to getting paid before delivering anything?

• Openning an App on click of link in email in android?

  I have a strange requirement for my project.. Suppose I have an app say XYZ installed in an android phone and than I receive an email from the mail server which contains a link like http://XYZ.com/?params(i.e. X=1&Y=2&Z=3) now on click of this link I want to open the XYZ app if it is installed in the phone and in the Activity I would like to get these parameters X,Y and Z and if the app is not installed user should be redirected to play store for downloading XYZ app and after installation app takes charge and behaves as if it was already installed (Opening the first activity with those parameters). How can I achieve that ? I have no idea where to start so even the smallest pointer in right direction will be of great help.

• Need some advice on a language to use for a 'presentation display board'

  As part of the project i am working on I am looking to produce some software that works on a LCD display (think call center info boards) and displays various graphs (the bars grow etc in realtime, so incoming call stats etc etc) and flicks between various 'plug-ins'. The problem is deciding what language to use.. I am thinking about using the XNA framework, as this will allow me to do some nice 3d effects, add a nice glow effect, play videos etc. I can have for example the company logo defused spinning slowly behind the current data display. I know however, the XNA framework is a bit left field for this. Or is there a better alternative? Thanks..

• C# - .WAV Playback Randomly High Pitch

  For some reason, when a WAV file is played back using the snippet below, it randomly plays back screwy, like a high pitch noise. It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly. It seems to happen more often when it is played back more frequently. The WAV properties are below along with the code snippet I am using. WAV Properties: Bit Rate - 750kbps Audio Sample Size - 16 bit Channels - 1 (mono) Audio Sample Rate - 44kHz Audio Format - PCM Snippet: System.Media.SoundPlayer myPlayer = new System.Media.SoundPlayer(Captcha.Properties.Resources.sound1); myPlayer.Play(); Is this because of the way I am playing the file or the file itself? I'd like to assume I don't have the source code to any of them (actually I usually have the source code of one of them). I want to direct the standard output of one to the standard input of the other and vice versa, thus allowing communication (the goal is to allow two programs playing a certain game to play one against the other).   I'm looking for resources (preferably books, but websites are fine too) for using FFMPEG and/or SDL with C++. Stuff I'd like to be able to do (eventually): Decode and play videos in realtime to a QT widget (the QT part isn't a problem) Overlay text and images on the video (in realtime) Loop video Cross-fade from one video to another (in realtime) Some kind of DVD functionality LIVE sources? (i.e. webcam, stream, etc.) So far I've looked at (and consider helpful) the following resources: FFMPEG and SDL Tutorial by Dranger (extremely helpful) StackOverflow: ffmpeg C API documentation/tutorial (not a duplicate, btw) Sample code bundled with FFMPEG libraries (I'll try and update this list with anything helpful below) Thanks for any help... Also: Operating System is Windows (but maybe one day cross-platform) Also 2: Resources using alternatives are welcome too... i.e. DirectShow, VFW, etc.

I have kept some dummy image in the cell at image place and remaining space ion cell is with some labels and buttons. I need the image preview of the video with play symbol on it.   Okay, I am going to try to make this totally not a "plz send teh codez kthxbai" I am considering an app which takes sound (eventually an audio track) and applies an audio filter to it. So I can play sounds with AudioServicesPlaySystemSound via AudioToolbox framework just fine. What I need is a very simple example of how I might take a sound and apply (for instance) midrange boost etc. Actually the kind of alteration is irrelevant -- if I can get my head around how the alteration is done I can figure out the rest. I am just finding both docs and examples of altering audio in code to be very scarce. Thanks for any help!

  Context: I downloaded a file (Audirvana 0.7.1.zip) from code.google to my Macbook Pro (Mac OS X 10.6.6). (current url: http://code.google.com/p/audirvana/downloads/detail?name=Audirvana%200.7.1.zip&can=2&q= ) I wanted to verify the checksum, which for that particular file is posted as 862456662a11e2f386ff0b24fdabcb4f6c1c446a (SHA-1). git hash-object gave me a different hash, but openssl sha1 returned the expected 862456662a11e2f386ff0b24fdabcb4f6c1c446a. The following experiment seems to rule out any possible download corruption or newline differences and to indicate that there are actually two different algorithms at play: $ echo A > foo.txt $ cat foo.txt A $ git hash-object foo.txt f70f10e4db19068f79bc43844b49f3eece45c4e8 $ openssl sha1 foo.txt SHA1(foo.txt)= 7d157d7c000ae27db146575c08ce30df893d3a64 What's going on?

  I am trying to use a simple split to break up the following string: 00-00000 My expression is: ^([0-9][0-9])(-)([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9]) And my usage is: String s = "00-00000"; String pattern = "^([0-9][0-9])(-)([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])"; String[] parts = s.split(pattern); If I play around with the Pattern and Matcher classes I can see that my pattern does match and the matcher tells me my groupCount is 7 which is correct. But when I try and split them I have no luck.

• hg unshelve not working

  Our team is just getting started with Mercurial. One of the first things we've started to play with is hg shelve. Locally, I have no problem shelving changes. It all works perfectly from what I can tell. However, when I try to unshelve, I get the restoring backup files message, but when I run hg diff, there are no changes, and my changes are missing from the code. If i do hg unshelve -i I can see the diff, but again, trying to unshelve seems to have no effect. I've been trying to test it with some very simple changes that shouldn't be a problem in terms of conflicts, e.g. adding a test comment. I should note that I've tried hg unshelve -f after which it says unshelve completed but again, my changes are not restored. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? If it matters: Mercurial Distributed SCM (version 1.5.1+20100405)

  Hello, I would like to start developing mobile-friendly versions of websites for my clients, however, I am baffled with options and google search wasn't very helpful - there is so many options and opinions, I've been reading for few days now and still have no idea how to start. What's your opinion/experience about/with it? My main points: mobile devices supported (in order of relevance): iPhone 3G, iPhone 2G, Blackberry, Droid powered mobiles, other phone friendly numbers, phone friendly emails contact/register form working on each (or the most possible) devices listed jQTouch seems superb (simple, quick, working), I'm not sure about it on blackberry/droid and I don't want to create 6 web versions for each mobile device - Makes even less sense if you consider, that I'm starting with small web (6-10 pages, 1 contact form, 3 register forms) to play with.   Hi I have java application which plays midi messages from sequence. I'm doing this using jfugue library. the problem is when I'm tryingto stop playback with stop button (which call sequencer.stop() and sequencer.close()) the last played note is sound all of rest time, and I can't stop it. So I'm asking about solution about stopping all audio and MIDI too! sound playback from java application. Notice: If you want propose just mute volume, you need to know that I want end-use will be able to press play button again and hear the sound again, so muting volumr will be not a solution, or explain please.   Been looking around the net and can't find any articles about how value types are actually implemented. For instance, an Int32 is a struct and it's direct parent is System.ValueType and that's ultimate parent is System.Object. Object is a class - I imagine ValueType is a class? What's the class hierarchy? What part does the CLR have to play? At what stage and how does the CLR know to allocate value types to the stack? (FYI, I am aware that value types are stored where they are declared).

• WPF: Creating instances of resources?

  I'm brand spanking new to WPF and am trying to play around with projects to better understand what I'm reading. My understanding of a resource is that it is the instance, you can't use it like a factory and create instances of it. For example, a XAML-defined rectangle. You can reference it, but you can't have numerous instances of it all over the surface. In WPF, what would be the way to do that? If I define a Rectangle as a resource with specific properties and wanted to have multiple instances of that within a dynamically-generated grid, how should I be going about it? Or is there a different way I should be trying to do this? Purely academic exercise with no real-world application.
