Client no longer getting data from Web Service after introducing targetNamespace in XSD

Sorry if there is way too much info in this post – there’s a load of story before I get to the actual problem. I thought I‘d include everything that might be relevant as I don’t have much clue what is wrong. I had a working web service and client (both written with VS 2008 in C#) for passing product data to an e-commerce site. The XSD started like this: <xs:schema id="Ecommerce" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns:mstns="http://tempuri.org/Ecommerce.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <xs:element name="eur"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element ref="sec" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1"/> </xs:sequence> etc Here’s a sample document sent from client to service: <eur xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" class="ECommerce_WebService" type="product" method="GetLastDateSent" chunk_no="1" total_chunks="1" date_stamp="2010-03-10T17:16:34.523" version="1.1"> <sec guid="BFBACB3C-4C17-4786-ACCF-96BFDBF32DA5" company_name="Company" version="1.1"> <data /> </sec> </eur> Then, I had to give the service a targetNamespace. Actually I don’t know if I “had” to set it, but I added (to the same VS project) some code to act as a client to a completely unrelated service (which also had no namespace), and the project would not build until I gave my service a namespace. Now the XSD starts like this: <xs:schema id="Ecommerce" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns:mstns="http://tempuri.org/Ecommerce.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" targetNamespace="http://www.company.com/ecommerce" xmlns:ecom="http://www. company.com/ecommerce"> <xs:element name="eur"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element ref="ecom:sec" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" /> </xs:sequence> etc As you can see above I also updated all the xs:element ref attributes to give them the “ecom” prefix. Now the project builds again. I found the client needed some modification after this. The client uses a SQL stored procedure to generate the XML. This is then de-serialised into an object of the correct type for the service’s “get_data” method. The object’s type used to be “eur” but after updating the web reference to the service, it became “get_dataEur”. And sure enough the parent element in the XML had to be changed to “get_dataEur” to be accepted. Then bizarrely I also had to put the xmlns attribute containing my namespace on the “sec” element (the immediate child of the parent element) rather than the parent element. The client does not see any data – all it sees is the parent element with nothing inside it. Each site has a www.domain.com main domain, but a ServerAlias of domain.com. This works fine for all the blogs except one, which instead of redirecting to www.domain.com redirects to domain.com, causing a cyclic redirection. The configuration for each host looks like this: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName www.domain.com ServerAlias domain.com DocumentRoot "/home/www/www.domain.com" <Directory "/home/www/www.domain.com"> Options MultiViews Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks ExecCGI AllowOverride All Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost> As this didn't work, I tried a mod_rewrite rule for it, which still didn't redirect correctly. The weird thing here is that if i rewrite it to redirect to any other domain it will redirect correctly, even to another subdomain. So a rewrite rule for domain.com that redirects to foo.domain.com works, but not to www.domain.com. In the same way, trying to redirec to www.domain.com/foo/ ends me up with a redirection to domain.com/foo/. Even weirder, I tried setting up domain.com as a completely separate virtual host, and ran this php test script as index.php on it: <?php header('Location: http://www.domain.com/' . $_SERVER["request_uri"]); ?> Hitting domain.com still redirects to domain.com! Checking out the headers sent to the server verifies that I get exactly the redirect URL I wanted, except with the "www." stripped. The same script works like a charm if I replace www. with foo or redirect to any other domain. This has now foiled me for a long time. I've diffed the vhosts configs for a working domain and the faulty one, and the only difference is the domain name itself. I've diffed the .htaccess files for both sites, and the only difference is a path related to the sharing of wordpress installation for the blogs: php_value include_path ".:/home/www/www.domain.com/local/:/home/www/www.domain.com/" I searched through everything in /etc (including apache conf) for the domain name of the faulty host and found nothing weird, searched through everything in /etc for one of the working ones to make sure it didn't differ, I even went so far to check on the DNS setup of two domains to make sure there wasn't anything strange going on. Hi. I got a wsdl file in email. At first I didn't know how to use it. I've simply saved the file to my disk. Opened visual studio...added a service reference...provided path to file, and service was discovered. I opened the object browser to see the types and methods that got imported. I figure anything that ends with the name 'Client' is a good place to start using the web service. I've tried using a simple method to get data but it has run into and expception. Need help in resolving it. Will open files limit in Centos affect HTTP connections? Does the limit apply to a single session or all sessions?

When I do a ulimit -n I got 256, I assume it means I can open 256 files at the sametime. Does it means I can open 256 files with one single session? or all sessions? For example, I logined to my server with username "abc" (via putty/ssh), and open 200 files, with the session still running, I logined to the same server again with the same username "abc" (via putty/ssh), I can open only another 56 files? or I can open another 256 files? Lastly, does this limit also restrict number of http connections? e.g. with the above example, I have opened 200 files, and then I use "wget" or "curl" to make http connections. Thanks

501 Error during Libjingle PCP on Amazone EC2 running Openfire

I am trying to implement Google's Libjingle (version: 0.6.14) PCP example and I am getting a 501: feature not implemented error during execution. Specifically, the error occurs after each "account" has connected, been authenticated and began communicating with the other. An abbreviated log of the interaction is provided at the end. I have set up my own jabber server (using OpenFire on an Amazon EC2 server), have opened all of the necessary ports and have added each "account" to the other's roster. The server has been set to allow for file transfers. My being new to working with servers, I am not sure why this error is occur and how to go about fixing it. Thanks in advance, AeroBuffalo P.S. IIS rewrite rule to check for querystring and add it if its not there

I'm trying to make a IIS URL rewrite rule that appends an URL parameter to the URL. The url parameter is hssc. So, any url that is processed through the server, needs that parameter. Keeping in mind that some urls will have their own params already, and other urls won't, and root urls, etc, sometimes it will need to add ?hssc=1 or &hssc= - so, if I have a URL that is as such: http://www.blah.com should become http://www.blah.com/?hssc=1 http://www.blah.com/index.html should become http://www.blah.com/index.html?hssc=1 http://www.blah.com/?q=5 should become http://www.blah.com/q=5&hssc=1 http://www.blah.com/index.html?q=5 should become http://www.blah.com/index.html?q=5&hssc=1 http://www.blah.com/index.html?q=5&hssc=1 should be left alone I also want it that the URL should not be hidden (as in a backend rewrite behind the scenes). I need the URL to appear in the URL, so when users copy the URL, or bookmark it, the parameter is there. I've set the condition to match it \&hssc|\?hssc - now I just need a way to write the URL, so it appears and keeps the part of the original URL that is already there.

How to specify search domain name of nginx resolver for proxy_pass

Assuming my server is www.mydomain.com, on Nginx 1.0.6 I'm trying to proxy all request to http://www.mydomain.com/fetch to other hosts, the destination URL is specified as a GET parameter named "url". For instance, when user requests either one: http://www.mydomain.com/fetch?url=http://another-server.mydomain.com/foo/bar http://www.mydomain.com/fetch?url=http://another-server/foo/bar it should be proxyed to http://another-server.mydomain.com/foo/bar I'm using the following nginx config and it works fine only if the url paramter contains domain name, like http://another-server.mydomain.com/...; but fails on http://another-server/... on error: another-server could not be resolved (3: Host not found) nginx.conf is: http { ... # the DNS server resolver 171.10.129.16; server { listen 80; server_name localhost; root /path/to/site/root; location = /fetch { proxy_pass $arg_url; } } Here, I'd like to resolve all URL without domain name as host name in mydomain.com, in /etc/resolv.conf, it's possible to specify default search domain name for the whole Linux system, but it doesn't affect nginx resolver: search mydomain.com Is it possible in Nginx? Or alternatively, how to "rewrite" the url parameter so that I can add the domain name?

eXist-db: can't start webstart client on a closed port, reverse proxied via apache

I am configuring an Apache HTTP server so it reverse proxies requests starting with /app/ to an eXist-db instance running in a Tomcat server, on port 8082. This port has been closed in the firewall and is inaccessible to the outer world. Following the eXist documentation, I have following rules in place in my httpd.conf file: ProxyPass /apps/ http://localhost:8082/ ProxyPassReverse /apps/ http://localhost:8082/ ProxyPassReverseCookiePath /apps/ / All goes well for requests to e.g. 'http://mydomain/apps/exist/index.xml'. Yet, the webstart client (accessible at 'http://localhost:8082/exist/webstart/exist.jnlp' on the web server) doesn't work behind the proxy. While 'http://mydomain/apps/exist/webstart/exist.jnlp' does generate a valid exist.jnlp file, that file can't be executed. The reason seems quite obvious: apparently, the eXist-db instance generating the exist.jnlp file only sees the proxied request as: 'http://localhost:8082/exist/webstart/exist.jnlp'. Yet, since the exist.jnlp file is executed on the client, that reference is meaningless (unless the client computer happens to have an eXist-db instance running on that port). Executing the exist.jnlp file hence fails with a 'connection refused' error. Yet, there's no problem at all connecting a local eXist-db Java client to the proxied eXist instance with the URL xmldb:exist://mydomain/apps/exist/xmlrpc. The problem lies in generating the webstart exist.jnlp file, which seems to need access to a publicly accessible URL. However, opening port 8082 and replacing the Proxy references to 'http://localhost:8082' with 'http://mydomain:8082' IMO rather destroys the point of reverse proxying. Do others have had success reverse proxying eXist-db on a closed port behind Apache? Are there perhaps some Proxy configuration settings I have overlooked (I'm no expert at all) that can make eXist see the original request instead of the proxied one? Kind regards, Ron

I have created a class that extends TcpLink and is instantiated in a custom Kismet Sequence Action. It is being instantiated correctly and is making the GET HTTP request that I need it to (I have checked my access log in apache) and Apache is responding to the request with the appropriate content. The problem I have is that I'm using the event receive mode and it appears that somehow the handler for the Opened event is halted after a specific number of lines of code have executed. After commenting out that line, the next Broadcast was successful and so on and so forth. As a test, I commented out the very first Broadcast to see if the connection closing had any effect: // A connection was established //WorldInfo.Game.Broadcast(self, "[DNomad_TcpLinkClient] event opened"); WorldInfo.Game.Broadcast(self, "[DNomad_TcpLinkClient] Sending simple HTTP query"); Upon doing that, an additional Broadcast at the end of the function executed. Thus the inference that there is an upper limit to the number of lines executed. Additionally, my ReceivedText handler is never called, despite Apache returning the correct HTTP 200 response with a body. My working hypothesis is that somehow after the Sequence Action finishes executing the garbage collector cleans up the TcpLinkClient instance. My biggest source of confusion with that is how on earth it does it during the execution of an event handler. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? My Ruby on Rails application only works if the address contains the port

I have a Ruby on Rails application that works ok on my notebook ( http://localhost:3000/ ) I uploaded it on my hosting server, created with CPanel X an application, the URL is http://example.com:12007/ created a rewrite from http://example.com/ to http://example.com:12007/, and started it. If I write in my browser http://example.com:12007/ or http://www.example.com:12007/ all the pages work as expected. But if I write http://example.com/ or http://www.example.com/ the first page is displayed, but without any css or images (just like it wouldn't find them). I can see all the text (even the text from my MySQL database), but with no format. And if I click on any link, I get a error page like this: Not Found The requested URL /some_controller was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. What should I do to make my website work without writing the port in the address bar? The content of my /public_html/.htaccess file is RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.example.com$ RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/127\.0\.0\.1\:12007%{REQUEST_URI}" [P,QSA,L] which I guess was generated by CPanel Rewrites.

Best method to redirect internal DNS to external website?

We host several web based applications outside of intranet. The URL's to these applications are long, complex and overall not user friendly. Ex: http://hostingsite:port/approot/folder/folder/login.aspx <-- (production) http://hostingsite:port22/approot/folder/folder/login.aspx <-- (dev) http://hostingsite:port33/approot/folder/folder/login.aspx <-- (test) I'd like to create an internal DNS entry to allow users to access these sites with ease. Ex: http://prod --> http://hostingsite:port/approot/folder/folder/login.aspx http://dev --> http://hostingsite:port22/approot/folder/folder/login.aspx I'm not familiar with the DNS process and setup, as far as I know a DNS can only be redirected to an IP, but not to subdomains for directory paths as described above? Is this a correct assumption? I am thinking for throwing up an internal webserver that will listen to the internal DNS entries and redirect to the external sites. http://prod --> [internal webserver] --> redirect --> http://hostingsite:port/approot/folder/folder/login.aspx Is there a better way to do this?

Installing rtorrent on my ubuntu server

Hello, I am try to install rtorrent on my ubuntu server. Hello World sample app This is the static web page we will work with: Let's assume the following: The Hello World web page is running on server http://appserver.company.com:1234/ The Hello World web page path is: http://appserver.company.com:1234/helloworld/ Initial Pagelet Producer setup Let's assume that the Pagelet Producer server is running on http://pageletserver.company.com:8889/pagelets/ First let's check that Pagelet Producer is up and running. Apache returns 304, I want it to ignore anything from client and send the page

I am using Apache HTTPD 2.2 on Windows. mod_expires is commented out. Most other stuff are not changed from the defaults. gzip is on. I made some changes to my .js files. My client gets one 304 response for one of the .js files and never gets the rest. How can I force Apache to sort of flush everything and send all new files to the client?
