  • In silverlight how do you scrub a string

    I have a string that looks like this " Into" and I can't figure out what the " " value is just before the Into. It's not a space, it's not an enter. At least i don't think so. I've tried doing a replace to get rid of it.. So now i'm just trying to figure out what that character value is. Convert.int32 doesn't get it done... What can i use to get rid of that character... I guess i could write a function that would loop through the alphabet and do it that way.. but figured there was a better way. thanks shannon

  • Why do spaces appear in my string?

    Hello all, I have this function below which returns all IDs of checked boxes on my page seperated by a comma. It works great but the problem is, it seems to put a lot of white space after each checkbox ID.     I am trying to remove a trailing - (dash) at the end of the string. Here is my code: <?php $str = 'SAVE $45! - Wed. Beach Co-ed 6s (Jul-Aug)'; echo ereg_replace('([^a-z0-9]+)','-',strtolower($str)); ?> produces this: save-45-wed-beach-co-ed-6s-jul-aug- How can I remove a specific trailing character only if its there, in this case the dash?     I am creating an interpreter for my esolang, and I need the user to enter some text which then will be interpreted as an INTERCAL program. I want the user to enter text, which may contain any character including newlines, until the user presses ^X (Ctrl-X), like this: Enter your code followed by ^X: Bla Blablabla Bla^X Thank you for entering your code (line 2, 3 and 4 were entered by the user) can anyone explain me how I can read input including newlines till the user enters ^X?   • Using ASP.NET Redirect without string URL?

    For instance, what I have right now is the following: Page.Response.Redirect("Default.aspx", false); Needing to hardcode the string just seems odd to me. The Default.aspx page is already in my project. So is there a way to do the redirect something like the following: Page.Response.Redirect(Default.aspx, false); Where Default.aspx is just the web form. I'd think that this way it would be obvious if there was a problem such as you deleted the web form but didn't update the redirects. Is this possible? Or is there another way entirely I should be looking at this? I suppose I could do something with a static property on the class, but I am wondering if there is a built in thing for this?

To find their place in the list, i need to figure out if the name im inserting is earlier or later in the alphabet then those in the structures beside it. The names are inside the structures, which i have access to. I don't need a full comaparison if that is more work, even just the first letter is fine. Thanks for the help!

    So need to check if a string's characters are ascending alphabetically and if that ascent is evenly spaced. a = "abc" b = "ceg" So a is alphabetically ascending and it's spacing is 1 (if you convert to the ordinal values they are 97,98,99). And b is also alphabetically ascending and it's spacing is 2 (99,101,103).     In IIS 7.5, I'm trying to rewrite a Url such as /about to /content.asp?p=about, with support for QueryString-s, so if the orginal Url was /about?x=y, it should rewrite to /content.asp?p=about&x=y. The basic rewriting is now working, but when I'm trying to add a QueryString it doesn't work. Tried both /about?x=y and /about&x=y.   • Help Fix a bug - Unexpected T_STRING

    So I have just rebuilt my server, just on local network. Stick my site back on it, try to run the code, and I get a anice T_STRING error. This is all very strange, as I have not changed the code :S <?php $window_ID = -1; if(isset($_POST["window_ID"]) AND $_POST["window_ID"] != null){ $window_ID = trim($_POST["window_ID"]); } ?> This is the start of the file, apter this rather loverly snipit of PHP the rest is just XMl, yet on line 6 appertnlty there is an unexpected T_STRING, which is strange considering all that is on that line is the ?>, then the XML starts up... Any one got any ideas what has gone wrong here? Any chance it ould be magic quotes? I had turned it of before, but I want to now update my code to check for the magic quotes and avoid its stupid actions.

    lines = "some stuff\"some other \"stuff\"\""; lines = lines.Replace("\"", "\""); lines = lines.Replace("\"", "\""); in its current context and in its simplest form these two actions seem absolutely pointless but when I put this into code it will be not be pointless and will have a purpose other than replacing itself with itself. OK so I have the String lines that has 4 escaped quotation marks and I wish to replace the first quote with a quote and the end quote with a quote how would I accomplish this without replacing any of the inner quotes?

    I want to replace a url querystring parameter with a new value if it already exists or add it on if not. e.g. The current url could be: a. www.mysite.com/whatever.asp?page=5&version=1 OR b. www.mysite.com/whatever.asp?version=1 I need the resulting url to be www.mysite.com/whatever.asp?page=1&version=1 I suspect I can use string.replace with a regex to do this the most intelligent way but am hoping for a little help with it from someone more experienced with regexs :) Thanks!

  • Need a Concatenating VBA code to prevent memory issue workaround

    My set up: Have 50,000 rows of data. ( My row count will increase in the future. So might as well say I have a full worksheet of 64000+ rows.) All Data is TEXT, no formulas, etc. Column A is open Columns B thru AC contain the Data that needs to be concatenated The Data in the rows once concatenated to Column A will contain 60,000 digits or 6kb in file size. After additional maniuplation each cell will become a file. I have tried concatenating in Excel and I run into memory issues. The memory issue is when I Select and fill down the concatenating function into the worksheet. It crashes at the 8200 +/-row. My system is 2gb of ram, windows xp professional and Excel 2003. Have 4GB of disk space Hoping to find a VBA code that will conserve memory, and not crash like it does in excel. Thank you

Can anyone tell me why this is? The "printw" statement inside the If-block prints out the proper text, so it's being assigned correctly. Thank you in advance.
