  • Problem upgrading eclipse rcp app from 3.3 to 3.5 on Mac OS

    - by Alb
    I previously had an eclipse rcp app based on eclipse 3.3 pugins deployed on both windows and mac OS X 10.4. i'm now trying to port the app to java 1.6 and eclipse 3.5 (Build id: 20100218-1602) plugins on Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard). I can launch the product from eclipse 3.5 on windows but not on Mac OS X. I have the 64bit cocoa eclipse IDE and java 6. In the launch configuration I set runtime JRE to JVM 1.6.0 and added required plugins. The plugins validate and everything else looks similar to windows configuration where it works, but when I launch i only get the following two lines in the console: 2010-03-16 13:29:32.742 java[758:10b] [Java CocoaComponent compatibility mode]: Enabled 2010-03-16 13:29:32.744 java[758:10b] [Java CocoaComponent compatibility mode]: Setting timeout for SWT to 0.100000 and then the program appears to just hang indefinitely. There is nothing written to the .log file so I'm not sure what error there is. EDIT: Here's what Yourkit profiling says before all cpu activity stops. +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+----------------+-----------------+ | Name | Time (ms) | Own Time (ms) | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+----------------+-----------------+ | +---<All threads> | 2,799 100 % | | | | | | | | +---org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.main(String[]) | 1,924 69% | 0 | | | | | | | +---org.eclipse.osgi.framework.eventmgr.EventManager$EventThread.run() | 632 23 % | 0 | | | | | | | +---java.lang.Thread.run() | 135 5 % | 0 | | | | | | | +---java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(String) | 106 4 % | 0 | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+----------------+-----------------+ , and this in the exceptions tab: Exception staticstics +----------------------------------------+--------------+ | Name | Count | +----------------------------------------+--------------+ | +---java.lang.ClassNotFoundException | 102 11 % | | | | | | +---java.net.MalformedURLException | 4 0 % | | | | | | +---java.lang.NoSuchMethodException | 3 0 % | | | | | | +---java.lang.NumberFormatException | 2 0 % | | | | | | +---java.io.FileNotFoundException | 1 0 % | | | | | | +---java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError | 1 0 % | +----------------------------------------+--------------+ and here's more details on the ClassNotFoundExceptions mentioned above: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException Start Level Event Dispatcher native ID: 0x8B0B group: 'main' 78 Thread-4 native ID: 0x10B group: 'main' 22 Framework Event Dispatcher native ID: 0xD207 group: 'main' 2 Anyone know why I don't see a trace for this in Eclipse or in any log files? any ideas where I should look?   • pthreads: reader/writer locks, upgrading read lock to write lock

    - by ScaryAardvark
    I'm using read/write locks on Linux and I've found that trying to upgrade a read locked object to a write lock deadlocks. i.e. // acquire the read lock in thread 1. pthread_rwlock_rdlock( &lock ); // make a decision to upgrade the lock in threads 1. pthread_rwlock_wrlock( &lock ); // this deadlocks as already hold read lock. I've read the man page and it's quite specific. The calling thread may deadlock if at the time the call is made it holds the read-write lock (whether a read or write lock). What is the best way to upgrade a read lock to a write lock in these circumstances.. I don't want to introduce a race on the variable I'm protecting. Presumably I can create another mutex to encompass the releasing of the read lock and the acquiring of the write lock but then I don't really see the use of read/write locks. I might as well simply use a normal mutex. Thx

  • App crashes only after second execution only in Release configuration

    - by denbec
    Hey all, i know this is probably not an easy question to answer, as it's hard to describe on my hand. I have an app that runs without problems on the device in Debug Configuration (also multiple times). Once I put it into Release Configuration (which I need before publishing?), the app starts without problems and I can proceed to the next page, where I show an core-plot graph. BUT only if I run it from xcode. As soon as I end the App and start it again, it opens without problems, but on the next page, it crashes. Now I don't have anything to debug other than the crash report: Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0xcf10000a Crashed Thread: 0 Thread 0 Crashed: 0 libobjc.A.dylib 0x000026f2 objc_msgSend + 14 1 StandbyCheck 0x0001fbea -[CPXYTheme newGraph] (CPXYTheme.m:36) 2 StandbyCheck 0x00007c06 -[SCGraphCell initWithStyle:reuseIdentifier:] (SCGraphCell.m:28) 3 StandbyCheck 0x00076b4a -[TTTableViewDataSource tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:] (TTTableViewDataSource.m:128) 4 UIKit 0x0007797a -[UITableView(UITableViewInternal) _createPreparedCellForGlobalRow:withIndexPath:] + 514 5 UIKit 0x000776b0 -[UITableView(UITableViewInternal) _createPreparedCellForGlobalRow:] + 28 6 UIKit 0x00037e78 -[UITableView(_UITableViewPrivate) _updateVisibleCellsNow] + 940 7 UIKit 0x000367d4 -[UITableView layoutSubviews] + 176 8 StandbyCheck 0x000734b8 -[TTTableView layoutSubviews] (TTTableView.m:226) [...] Now, can someone point in any direction? What are the differences in Debug/Release Modes? How could I possibly debug this failure? I've been searching for hours now, please help me :( Thanks, Dennis

  • Lucene.net create+lock errors in ASP.NET

    - by acidzombie24
    I have an issue with Lucene.net. It throws a lock exception. After poking around i notice these things. My code below works in an app bit when calling in Application_Start i get a NoSuchDirectoryException. Not closing the writer (as my code doesnt do below) i WILL get a LockObtainFailedException with the message Lock obtain timed out: SimpleFSLock@<FULL_PATH> from either app or asp.net These thread hinted when spawning threads they get less permissions then i do (but! my main thread has problems as well...) and one solution is to impersonate IIS. I am using visual studios 2010. I am not sure how full blown it is but my attempt to impersonate it failed. So my question is how do i have lucene create the directory and not throw an exception if dont close the writer for some reason (such as power going out)? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2341163/why-is-my-lucene-index-getting-locked/2499285#2499285 http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1123517/lucene-net-and-i-o-threading-issue/1123981#1123981 static IndexWriter writer = null; static void lucene_init() { bool create = false; //I now use a full path. • NSThread shared object issue

    - by Chris Beeson
    Hi, I'm getting an “EXC_BAD_ACCESS” but just can't work out why, any help would be massive - thank you in advance. The user takes a picture and I want to do some processing on it in another thread... - (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info { ... NSString *uid = [Asset stringWithUUID]; [_imageQueue setObject:img forKey:uid]; [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(createAssetAsyncWithImage:) toTarget:self withObject:uid]; } Then the new thread -(void) createAssetAsyncWithImage:(NSString *)uid { NSAutoreleasePool * pool =[[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; if ([_imageQueue objectForKey:uid]) { Asset *asset = [Asset createAssetWithImage:[_imageQueue objectForKey:uid]]; asset.uid = uid; [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(asyncAssetCreated:) withObject:asset waitUntilDone:YES]; } [pool release]; } Which calls +(Asset *)createAssetWithImage:(UIImage *)img { .... UIImage *masterImg = [GraphicSupport createThumbnailFromImage:img pixels:img.size.height/2]; .... return newAsset; } And then this is where I keep getting the BAD_ACCESS +(UIImage *)createThumbnailFromImage:(UIImage *)inImage pixels:(float)pixels{ CGSize size = image.size; CGFloat ratio = 0; if (size.width > size.height) { ratio = pixels / size.width; } else { ratio = pixels / size.height; } CGRect rect = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, ratio * size.width, ratio * size.height); UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(rect.size); //NSAssert(image,@"image NULL"); [image drawInRect:rect]; return UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); } It's image that is giving me all the complaints... What am I doing wrong?? Many thanks in advance

  • Sanity check: UIBarButtonItem crashes trying to perform action

    - by Giao
    One of my users is reporting a crash on his device, an iPhone 3GS. Other devices of the same type are not reporting similar behavior. He's sent me a crash log and based on reading it, I'm not sure how to proceed. I hope I'm not interpreting the crash log incorrectly but it doesn't look like my action has been called yet. This is how I'm creating and setting up the UIBarButtonItem: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; UIBarButtonItem *addButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemAdd target:self action:@selector(addLog:)]; self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = addButton; [addButton release]; } This is the my action method: - (IBAction)addLog:(id)sender { MyViewController *myController = [[MyViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MyNib" bundle:nil]; UINavigationController *subNavigationController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController: myController]; [self presentModalViewController:subNavigationController animated:YES]; [myController release]; [subNavigationController release]; } This is the crash log: Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: 0x00000000, 0x00000000Crashed Thread: 0 Thread 0 Crashed: 0 libSystem.B.dylib 0x0007e98c __kill + 81 libSystem.B.dylib 0x0007e97c kill + 4 2 libSystem.B.dylib 0x0007e96e raise + 10 3 libSystem.B.dylib 0x0009361a abort + 34 4 MyApp 0x000042e8 0x1000 + 13032 5 CoreFoundation 0x00058ede -[NSObject performSelector:withObject:withObject:] + 18 6 UIKit 0x0004205e -[UIApplication sendAction:to:from:forEvent:] + 78 7 UIKit 0x00094d4e -[UIBarButtonItem(Internal) _sendAction:withEvent:] + 86 8 CoreFoundation 0x00058ede -[NSObject performSelector:withObject:withObject:] + 18 9 UIKit 0x0004205e -[UIApplication sendAction:to:from:forEvent:] + 78 10 UIKit 0x00041ffe -[UIApplication sendAction:toTarget:fromSender:forEvent:] + 26 11 UIKit 0x00041fd0 -[UIControl sendAction:to:forEvent:] + 32 12 UIKit 0x00041d2a -[UIControl(Internal) _sendActionsForEvents:withEvent:] + 350 13 UIKit 0x0004263e -[UIControl touchesEnded:withEvent:] + 330 14 UIKit 0x00041656 -[UIWindow _sendTouchesForEvent:] + 318 15 UIKit 0x00041032 -[UIWindow sendEvent:] + 74

  • Parallel WCF calls to multiple servers

    - by gregmac
    I have a WCF service (the same one) running on multiple servers, and I'd like to call all instances in parallel from a single client. I'm using ChannelFactory and the interface (contract) to call the service. Each service has a local <endpoint> client defined in the .config file. What I'm trying to do is build some kind of generic framework to avoid code duplication. For example a synchronous call in a single thread looks something like this: Dim remoteName As String = "endpointName1" Dim svcProxy As ChannelFactory(Of IMyService) = New ChannelFactory(Of IMyService)(remoteName) Try svcProxy.Open() Dim svc As IMyService = svcProxy.CreateChannel() nodeResult = svc.TestRemote("foo") Finally svcProxy.Close() End Try The part I'm having difficulty with is how to specify and actually invoke the actual remote method (eg "TestRemote") without having to duplicate the above code, and all the thread-related stuff that invokes that, for each method. In the end, I'd like to be able to write code along the lines of (consider this psuedo code): Dim results as Dictionary(Of Node, ExpectedReturnType) results = ParallelInvoke(IMyService.SomeMethod, parameter1, parameter2) where ParallelInvoke() will take the method as an argument, as well as the parameters (paramArray or object() .. whatever) and then go run the request on each remote node, block until they all return an answer or timeout, and then return the results into a Dictionary with the key as the node, and the value as whatever value it returned. I can then (depending on the method) pick out the single value I need, or aggregate all the values from each server together, etc. I'm pretty sure I can do this using reflection and InvokeMember(), but that requires passing the method as a string (which can lead to errors like calling a non-existing method that can't be caught at compile time), so I'd like to see if there is a cleaner way to do this. Thanks

  • what type of bug causes a program to slowly use more processor power and all of a sudden go to 100%?

    - by reinier
    Hi, I was hoping to get some good ideas as to what might be causing a really nasty bug. This is a program which is transmitting data over a socket, and also receives messages back. I could explain lots more, but I don't think this will help here. I'm just searching for hypothetical problems which can cause the following behaviour: program runs processor time slowly accumulates (till around 60%) all of a sudden (could be after 30 but also after 60 seconds) the processor time shoots to 100%. the program halts completely In my syslog it always ends on one line with a memory allocation (something similar to: myArray = new byte[16384]) in the same thread. now here is the weird part: if I set the debugger anywhere...it immediately stops on that line. So just the act of setting a breakpoint, made the thread continue (it wasn't running since I saw no log output anymore) I was thinking 'deadlock' but that would not cause 100% processor power. If anything, the opposite. Also, setting a breakpoint would not cause a deadlock to end. anyone else a theoretical suggestion as to what kind of 'construct' might cause this effect? (apart from 'bad programming') ;^) thanks EDIT: I just noticed.... by setting the sendspeed slower, the problem shows itself much later than expected. I would think around the same amount of packets send...but no the amount of packets send is much higher this way before it has the same problem.

  • Prepared transactions with Postgres 8.4.3 on CentOS

    I have set 'max_prepared_transactions' to 20 in the local postgres.config and yet the transaction fails with the following error trace (but only on Linux). • Multithreaded search with UISearchDisplayController

    - by Kulpreet
    I'm sort of new to any sort of multithreading and simply can't seem to get a simple search method working on a background thread properly. Everything seems to be in order with an NSAutoreleasePool and the UI being updated on the main thread. The app doesn't crash and does perform a search in the background but the search results yield the several of the same items several times depending on how fast I type it in. The search works properly without the multithreading (which is commented out), but is very slow because of the large amounts of data I am working with. Here's the code: - (void)filterContentForSearchText:(NSString*)searchText { NSAutoreleasePool *apool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; isSearching = YES; //[self.filteredListContent removeAllObjects]; // First clear the filtered array. for (Entry *entry in appDelegate.entries) { NSComparisonResult result = [entry.item compare:searchText options:(NSCaseInsensitiveSearch|NSDiacriticInsensitiveSearch) range:NSMakeRange(0, [searchText length])]; if (result == NSOrderedSame) { [self.filteredListContent addObject:entry]; } } isSearching=NO; [self.searchDisplayController.searchResultsTableView performSelectorOnMainThread:(@selector(reloadData)) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO]; //[self.searchDisplayController.searchResultsTableView reloadData]; [apool drain]; } - (BOOL)searchDisplayController:(UISearchDisplayController *)controller shouldReloadTableForSearchString:(NSString *)searchString { [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self selector:@selector(filteredListContent:) object:searchString]; [self.filteredListContent removeAllObjects]; // First clear the filtered array. [self performSelectorInBackground:(@selector(filterContentForSearchText:)) withObject:searchString]; //[self filterContentForSearchText:searchString]; // Return YES to cause the search result table view to be reloaded. return NO; }

  • Large number of simultaneous long-running operations in Qt

    - by Hostile Fork
    I have some long-running operations that number in the hundreds. At the moment they are each on their own thread. My main goal in using threads is not to speed these operations up. The more important thing in this case is that they appear to run simultaneously. I'm aware of cooperative multitasking and fibers. However, I'm trying to avoid anything that would require touching the code in the operations, e.g. peppering them with things like yieldToScheduler(). I also don't want to prescribe that these routines be stylized to be coded to emit queues of bite-sized task items...I want to treat them as black boxes. For the moment I can live with these downsides: Maximum # of threads tend to be O(1000) Cost per thread is O(1MB) To address the bad cache performance due to context-switches, I did have the idea of a timer which would juggle the priorities such that only idealThreadCount() threads were ever at Normal priority, with all the rest set to Idle. This would let me widen the timeslices, which would mean fewer context switches and still be okay for my purposes. Question #1: Is that a good idea at all? One certain downside is it won't work on Linux (docs say no QThread::setPriority() there). Question #2: Any other ideas or approaches? Is QtConcurrent thinking about this scenario? (Some related reading: how-many-threads-does-it-take-to-make-them-a-bad-choice, many-threads-or-as-few-threads-as-possible, maximum-number-of-threads-per-process-in-linux)

  • Double type returns -1.#IND/NaN error when calculating pi iteratively

    - by Draak
    I am working through a problem for my MCTS certification. The program has to calculate pi until the user presses a key, at which point the thread is aborted, the result returned to the main thread and printed in the console. Simple enough, right? This exercise is really meant to be about threading, but I'm running into another problem. The procedure that calculates pi returns -1.#IND. I've read some of the material on the web about this error, but I'm still not sure how to fix it. When I change double to Decimal type, I unsurprisingly get Overflow Exception very quickly. So, the question is how do I store the numbers correctly? Do I have to create a class to somehow store parts of the number when it gets too big to be contained in a Decimal? Class PiCalculator Dim a As Double = 1 Dim b As Double = 1 / Math.Sqrt(2) Dim t As Double = 1 / 4 Dim p As Double = 1 Dim pi As Double Dim callback As DelegateResult Sub New(ByVal _callback As DelegateResult) callback = _callback End Sub Sub Calculate() Try Do While True Dim a1 = (a + b) / 2 Dim b1 = Math.Sqrt(a * b) Dim t1 = t - p * (a - a1) ^ 2 Dim p1 = 2 * p a = a1 b = b1 t = t1 p = p1 pi = ((a + b) ^ 2) / (4 * t) Loop Catch ex As ThreadAbortException Finally callback(pi) End Try End Sub End Class

  • C# XMLRPC Multi Threaded newPost something is not right

    - by user1047463
    I recently decided to get my feet wet with c# multi threading and my progress was good until now. My program uses XML-RPC to create new posts on wordpress. When I run my app on the localhost everything works fine and i successfully able to create new posts on wordpress using a multi threaded approach. However when I try to do the same with a wordpress installed on a remote server , new posts won't appear, so when i go to see all posts, the total number of posts remains unchanged. Another thing to note is the function that creates a new post does return the ID of a supposedly created posts. But as I mentioned previously the new posts are not visible when I try to access them in admin menu. Since I'm new to the multithreading I was hoping some of you guys can help me and check if I'm doing anything wrong. Heres the code that creates threads and calls create post function. foreach (DataRow row in dt.Rows) { Thread t = null; t = new Thread(createPost); lock (t) { t.Start(); } } public void createPost() { string postid; try { icp = (IcreatePost)XmlRpcProxyGen.Create(typeof(IcreatePost)); clientProtocol = (XmlRpcClientProtocol)icp; clientProtocol.Url = xmlRpcUrl; postid = icp.NewPost(1, blogLogin, blogPass, newBlogPost, 1); currentThread--; threadCountLabel.Invoke(new MethodInvoker(delegate { threadCountLabel.Text = currentThread.ToString(); })); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show( createPost ERROR ->" + ex.Message); } }

  • Make Python Socket Server More Efficient

    - by BenMills
    I have very little experience working with sockets and multithreaded programming so to learn more I decided to see if I could hack together a little python socket server to power a chat room. I ended up getting it working pretty well but then I noticed my server's CPU usage spiked up over 100% when I had it running in the background. Here is my code in full: http://gist.github.com/332132 I know this is a pretty open ended question so besides just helping with my code are there any good articles I could read that could help me learn more about this? • Opened SerialPort crashes C# application

    - by Stefan Teitge
    The computer is connected to measuring device via a physical COM1. I have simple form where I open a serial port, tell the device that I'm alive and occasionally the device sends data. (every some minutes) Thread _readThread = new Thread(Read); SerialPort _serialPort = new SerialPort("COM1", 9600); _serialPort.Parity = Parity.None; _serialPort.DataBits = 8; _serialPort.StopBits = StopBits.One; _serialPort.Handshake = Handshake.None; _serialPort.DtrEnable = true; _serialPort.Open(); _readThread.Start(); _serialPort.Write("#listening"); The read function (which works): public void Read() { string message = _serialPort.ReadLine(); } After approximately one minute the application crashes (even while debugging). It reports an ObjectDisposedException (for the underlying stream?). The message tells that the SafeHandle was closed. Stack strace is below: at Microsoft.Win32.UnsafeNativeMethods.GetOverlappedResult(SafeFileHandle hFile, NativeOverlapped lpOverlapped, Int32& lpNumberOfBytesTransferred, Boolean bWait) at System.IO.Ports.SerialStream.EventLoopRunner.WaitForCommEvent() at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()* Any ideas? The problem is reported widely but usually involve the device beeing physically detached from the PC.

  • How to deploy on a remote machine using hudson's WAS Builder Plugin?

    I have a hudson build server (Windows) that does not have Websphere installed. I created a Hudson node that I connect to via SSH. • How to make sure Solr/Lucene won't die with java.lang.OutOfMemoryError?

    - by taw
    I'm really puzzled why it keeps dying with java.lang.OutOfMemoryError during indexing even though it has a few GBs of memory. Is there a fundamental reason why it needs manual tweaking of config files / jvm parameters instead of it just figuring out how much memory is available and limiting itself to that? No other programs except Solr ever have this kind of problem. Yes, I can keep tweaking JVM heap size every time such crashes happen, but this is all so backwards. Here's stack trace of the latest such crash in case it is relevant: SEVERE: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space at java.util.Arrays.copyOfRange(Arrays.java:3209) at java.lang.String.<init>(String.java:216) at org.apache.lucene.index.TermBuffer.toTerm(TermBuffer.java:122) at org.apache.lucene.index.SegmentTermEnum.term(SegmentTermEnum.java:169) at org.apache.lucene.search.FieldCacheImpl$StringIndexCache.createValue(FieldCacheImpl.java:701) at org.apache.lucene.search.FieldCacheImpl$Cache.get(FieldCacheImpl.java:208) at org.apache.lucene.search.FieldCacheImpl.getStringIndex(FieldCacheImpl.java:676) at org.apache.lucene.search.FieldComparator$StringOrdValComparator.setNextReader(FieldComparator.java:667) at org.apache.lucene.search.TopFieldCollector$OneComparatorNonScoringCollector.setNextReader(TopFieldCollector.java:94) at org.apache.lucene.search.IndexSearcher.search(IndexSearcher.java:245) at org.apache.lucene.search.Searcher.search(Searcher.java:171) at org.apache.solr.search.SolrIndexSearcher.getDocListNC(SolrIndexSearcher.java:988) at org.apache.solr.search.SolrIndexSearcher.getDocListC(SolrIndexSearcher.java:884) at org.apache.solr.search.SolrIndexSearcher.search(SolrIndexSearcher.java:341) at org.apache.solr.handler.component.QueryComponent.process(QueryComponent.java:182) at org.apache.solr.handler.component.SearchHandler.handleRequestBody(SearchHandler.java:195) at org.apache.solr.handler.RequestHandlerBase.handleRequest(RequestHandlerBase.java:131) at org.apache.solr.core.SolrCore.execute(SolrCore.java:1316) at org.apache.solr.servlet.SolrDispatchFilter.execute(SolrDispatchFilter.java:338) at org.apache.solr.servlet.SolrDispatchFilter.doFilter(SolrDispatchFilter.java:241) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:235) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:233) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:191) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:128) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:109) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:286) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:845) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11Protocol.java:583) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$Worker.run(JIoEndpoint.java:447) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619)

  • Android - How to Use SQLiteDatabase.open?

    - by Edwin Lee
    Hi all, i'm trying to use SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase( "/data/data/edwin11.myapp/databases/myapp.db", null, (SQLiteDatabase.CREATE_IF_NECESSARY | SQLiteDatabase.NO_LOCALIZED_COLLATORS)); to create/open a database instead of making use of the SQLiteOpenHelper (because i want to pass in the flag SQLiteDatabase.NO_LOCALIZED_COLLATORS. However, i am getting this exception for that line of code: 04-18 09:50:03.585: ERROR/Database(3471): sqlite3_open_v2("/data/data/edwin11.myapp/databases/myapp.db", &handle, 6, NULL) failed 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): java.lang.RuntimeException: An error occured while executing doInBackground() 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at android.os.AsyncTask$3.done(AsyncTask.java:200) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerSetException(FutureTask.java:234) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerRun(FutureTask.java:258) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run(FutureTask.java:122) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:648) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:673) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:1060) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): Caused by: android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: unable to open database file 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at android.database.sqlite.SQLiteDatabase.dbopen(Native Method) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at android.database.sqlite.SQLiteDatabase.<init>(SQLiteDatabase.java:1584) 04-18 09:50:03.665: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3471): at android.database.sqlite.SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase(SQLiteDatabase.java:638) ... Doing some testing just before that line of code (using File.isExists) shows that the file /data/data/edwin11.myapp/databases/myapp.db does not exist. Would that be the cause of the error? (Or am i just using SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase the wrong way?) Would it help if i create the file beforehand? (Shouldn't that be taken care of by the SQLiteDatabase.CREATE_IF_NECESSARY flag that i passed in?) If creating the file manually is the way to go, is it just an empty file, or do i have to write something to it? Thanks and Regards.

  • Making REST request using LWP::Simple

    - by Alienfluid
    I am trying to use LWP::Simple to make a GET request to a REST service. Here's the simple code: use LWP::Simple; $uri = "http://api.stackoverflow.com/0.8/questions/tagged/php"; $jsonresponse= get $uri; print $jsonresponse; On my local machine, running Ubuntu 10.4, and Perl version 5.10.1: farhan@farhan-lnx:~$ perl --version This is perl, v5.10.1 (*) built for x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi I can get the correct response and have it printed on the screen. E.g.: farhan@farhan-lnx:~$ head -10 output.txt { "total": 1000, "page": 1, "pagesize": 30, "questions": [ { "tags": [ "php", "arrays", "coding-style" (... snipped ...) But on my host's machine to which I SSH into, I get garbage printed on the screen for the same exact code. I am assuming it has something to do with the encoding, but the REST service does not return the character set type in the response, so how do I force LWP::Simple to use the correct encoding? Any ideas what may be going on here? Here's the version of Perl on my host's machine: [dredd]$ perl --version This is perl, v5.8.8 built for x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi

    I'm getting the following error trying redeploy an webapp on Tomcat from within Netbeans 6.8. It has probably something to do with the new deploy on save and hot swap functionality.
