  For a Windows domain, is there a way to see for a certain user or group, where the user/group has permissions? Primarily: List which files / folders the user can access on a certain network share. (Kind of a recursive "effective permissions") However, other permissions would be cool as well. I believe I've seen such a tool in action, but I can't remember anything beyond that - so this might be a false memory. Recommendations?

  We are working in a test environment and need to monitor the audio quality of an rtp stream that is being captured using tshark. Right now we are able to capture the audio and access the file through wireshark, but we would like to find a way to save the audio to a .wav file (or similar) via the command line.   Laptop: HP Compaq 6710b I can boot from usb just fine with the following usb flash drives: Cruzer micro 4GB HP 4GB The flash drive that will not boot: Flash Voyager 8GB To knock out variables I did the following: Using Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool I performed a low level format Full erase with Flash Memory Tookit In windows 7 I formated the drive to fat32 Used USB-Boot-Tester to write to the drive Also used uNetbooting with various distros to see if that would make a difference My guesses on what could be preventing the drive from booting: The laptop does not support booting to usb flash drives larger than 4GB The drive is defective in some way

  I just want to move dirs. I looked successively at mv, cp and rsync, since each tool in turn didn't seem to have the option to remove directories from source after copying them. For instance, mv needs files, not dirs, when src and dst are on different devices: "inter-device move failed: src to dst; unable to remove target: Is a directory" Perhaps the simplest way to do this is by using an additional deletion cmd, although I'd prefer not to use it, since that increases risk of data loss.

I have the same username and group set, of course, but... So, where is this peruser launchd tool configured, so that I can disable the daemons that are causing this error message?

  I would like to use a backup tool like Acronis or Crashplan in case I encounter a serious problem with my computer and I want to restore it like it is right now. They both have a free trial of 30 days but they do not seem to explain explicitly what won't be functional after the trial period.   I am running the Process Monitor tool from sysinternals and I see a lot failures from IIS (w3wp.exe) with Operation QueryFile having a result of "NO SUCH FILE". They are all images in the applications themes directory with web.config appended! example: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mywebapp\App_Themes\blueTheme\images\icon.png\web.config

  Is there a way to watch Linux boot as though it was a program compiled with GCC on a Linux environment using the -g switch so, say, I can step through the entire boot sequence from GRUB onwards, choosing to step through at C source level or assembly when necessary/desirable, by using GDB or a GDB-like tool? I suspect it would require a virtual machine at least, to watch the boot on a host environment. Any elaboration on this topic of observing a boot would be appreciated!

  My problem is pretty straight forward: HTC Sync manager works perfectly with my HTC One X. However, it filters extensions it's not able to use with it's stock applications. (HTC Sense) But 3rd party applications can handle other extensions of course. Is there a way to adjust the HTC Sync Manager so that extensions will not be filtered?
