    Im trying to use xml to parse a .COLLADA file. The problem is I can't seem to use xpath() to access elements if the root tag has a xmlns attribute.     Hello, I want to create a simple form with a name and an email and save these data in an XML file. So far I found that using Ajax with jQuery is quite easy. So I used the usual code: //dataString have the values taken from the form var dataString = 'name='+ name + '&email=' + email; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "users.xml", data: dataString, dataType: "xml", success: function() { .... } }); If I understood well, in the url I should add the name of the XML file that will be created. When the user clicks a button I call the function with the Ajax request, and then I should call somewhere a function for generating the xml. I am using also two beans. One is for setting the elements of the user and the other is for saving the data in the XML. I am using the XStream library for the xml although I don't know if is the best solution. The problem now it that I can not connect all these together in order to save the data in the XML. Does anyone know what should I do? Thanks a lot!

    Hi there, I'm using a DataGridView binding its datasource to a List, and specifying the properties for each column. An example would be: DataGridViewTextBoxColumn colConcept = new DataGridViewTextBoxColumn(); DataGridViewCell cell4 = new DataGridViewTextBoxCell(); colConcept.CellTemplate = cell4; colConcept.Name = "concept"; colConcept.HeaderText = "Concept"; colConcept.DataPropertyName = "Concept"; colConcept.Width = 200; this.dataGridViewBills.Columns.Add(colConcept); {... assign other colums...} And finally this.dataGridViewBills.DataSource=billslist; //billslist is List<Bill> Obviously Class Bill has a Property called Concept, as well as one Property for each column. Well, now my problem, is that Bill should have and Array/List/whateverdynamicsizecontainer of strings called Years. Let's assume that every Bill will have the same Years.Count, but this only known at runtime.Thus, I can't specify properties like Bill.FirstYear to obtain Bill.Years[0], Bill.SecondYear to obtain Bills.Years[1]... etc... and bind it to each column. The idea, is that now I want to have a grid with dynamic number of colums (known at runtime), and each column filled with a string from the Bill.Years List. I can make a loop to add columns to the grid at runtime depending of Bill.Years.Count, but is possible to bind them to each of the strings that the Bill.Years List contains??? I'm not sure if I'm clear enough. The result ideally would be something like this, for 2 bills on the list, and 3 years for each bill: --------------------------------------GRID HEADER------------------------------- NAME CONCEPT YEAR1 YEAR2 YEAR3 --------------------------------------GRID VALUES------------------------------- Bill1 Bill1.Concept Bill1.Years[0] Bill1.Years[1] Bill1.Years[2] Bill2 Bill2.Concept Bill2.Years[0] Bill2.Years[1] Bill2.Years[2] I can always forget the datasource, and write each cell manually, as the MSFlexGrid used to like, but if possible, I would like to use the binding capabilities of the DataGridView.     I have a table like this: <table id='inventory_table'> <tr id='no_items_avail'> <td> There are no items in the database. </td> </tr> </table> And I want to get rid of it with jQuery like this: $('#inventory_table tbody tr#no_items_avail').remove(); However it doesn't seem to be working at all. What am I doing wrong? Edit: Also, the row above was originally inserted into the DOM with another jQuery call: $('#inventory_table tbody').append("<tr id='no_items_avail'....... If that helps. And, running: alert($('#no_items_avail').text()); yields "There are no items in the database." as expected.

  • jQuery inconsistent .remove by class on element with multiple classes

    I've got a page where messages and associated elements (responses, forwards, etc) all share a class based on the database id of the parent. For example this is a message this is another message this is a comment this is another comment tim posted a new message sara forwarded a message to john at times I need to remove all elements with the same id, so I originally had jQuery('div#'+id).remove(); but that would sometimes not remove all the ids because ids are supposed to be unique. So I added the id as a class. now I use jQuery('div.'+id).remove(); but this seems to be about 80% effective, and sometimes the divs aren't being removed. I'm not sure if the issue is because the div has more than one class, but I need the classes because that is how I refer to the elements when somebody clicks. For instance, jQuery('div.message').click(function(){ get the id, send it to the server and get the message }); is there something wrong I'm doing here? or is there a better way to do this?

    I have a simple problem but no matter what I try I can't see to get it to work. I have a form on a php page and I need to validate the qty value on my form so that it doesn't exceed $qty (value pulled from mySQL) and is not less than zero. Sounds easy--hmm wish it were..lol! I had it checking if the value was numeric and in my attempts to make this work I even broke that--not a good morning..lol!
