  • Sys undefined for HTTPS url in IE8

    I just discovered a rather peculiar issue in IE8 for a HTTPS link. Every time the page tries to access the HTTPS link, it produces an error. This happens only in IE8 and nothing else. Any idea what's going on? I found some items that said that means the files were not loaded, hence the issue and tried some fixes recommended, but they haven't worked so far.   • Custom Map using iPhone MapKit

    I am attempting to use MapKit to create a custom map (similar to this concept http://mapwow.com/) using an image instead of the google maps image. This is so we can include the gps functionality and the pins functionality. I have looked in the documentation and there does not appear to be a standard way of doing it. Is there a way to do this using MapKit or has someone found a way to achieve something similar?

  • Using readfile() with remote URL and SSL

    I have a php-based website that uses SSL and requires a a user to login before accessing any page. I would like to allow access to this site from another domain, so that the functionality remains the same, but the look, feel and domain changes for the user (with the added advantage that I have to maintain only one version of the code). Having done some reading, I'm using readfile() function calls in php files on the secondary server to corresponding files on the primary server. For example, the login.php on the primary server is accessed from the secondary server by a file called login.php containing readfile("http://www.primarydomain.com/login.php") (and nothing else). Now the problem - I can't even login! The login page appears fine when called initially, but when login user and pwd are entered and submitted, it's as if the remote server doesn't see the $_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] variable that triggers form processing and just loads as an empty form. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what configuation I might need to change? Thanks!

    Hi, is it possible to set up an Apache server on a machine which is part of a LAN, then allow machines on the LAN to access the server via a custom ServerName (instead of Localhost). I want to serve a simple website in an office space using a short ServerName (no ports etc if possible), but I want to make sure this is possible (after originally being certain it was!).     When a IP address gets banned how can I check if the banned IP address is from China. If yes, then add it to the permanent ban list. I have found this nice guide which write the banned IP to file. Reason: I am getting a lot of brute force attacks from China daily, thankfully fail2ban is helping restrict this although they appear to be getting worse and they are just changing their IP Address. I know we can use Google Site Search (http://www.google.com/sitesearch/ but it has an annual fee.   • Building a DVR system for use with custom windows application (video analytics)

    Is there a good PCIe DVR capture card that has at least 4 channels as well as the hardware encoding? It would have to have decent driver support in Windows xp or windows 7. I have looked at various video capture cards as well as an integrated video capture card/motherboard from Huperlabs. But so far I have not found one with a decent review and that has good driver support that I can verify. A really small card would be nice because I am trying to get a fairly small form factor. Huperlabs stuff is pretty awesome but they are slow to get back to me and they bundle their analytics software with the hardware (extra cost for nothing) The dvr is being used for security.

  • Using URL Routing for Web Forms and StopRoutingHandler for Favicon

    I have a website where I need to add a Favicon.ico. The site is written using ASP.NET 3.5 Web Forms with Routing. The issue is that the Favicon link always returns a page not found error. This is because the Routing does not know where the link for Favicon.ico should go to so it returns the Not Found page. I have tried to add a StopRoutingHandler for the the favicon but none of them seem to work. Below are the ones I have tried so far: routes.Add(new Route("MasterPages/{favicon}.ico", new StopRoutingHandler()));; routes.Add(new Route("{favicon}.ico", new StopRoutingHandler())); routes.Add(new Route("favicon.ico", new StopRoutingHandler())); routes.Add(new Route("favicon.ico/{*pathInfo}", new StopRoutingHandler())); Does anyone know what I should be using?     Anyone have any luck using Vimeo's moogaloop player? I'm wanting to use Vimeo's supposed API functions to create custom buttons to control the Vimeo player on my site.     I am getting Encoding::UndefinedConversionError at /find/Wroclaw "\xC5" from ASCII-8BIT to UTF-8 For some mysterious reason sinatra is passing the string as ASCII instead of UTF-8 as it should. I have found some kind of ugly workaround... I don't know why Rack assumes the encoding is ASCII-8BIT ... anyway, a way is to use string.force_encoding("UTF-8")... but doing this for all params is tedious

    Hi, I am using struts2.1.6 + Spring 2.5 I have four modules in my application. Registration Module Admin Module Quote Module Location Module. In registration module the customer can register himself and only after registering he is supposed to have access of the remaining three modules. I want to implement something like if the action being called belongs to the registration module it will work as normal but if the action being called belongs to the rest of those three modules it first should check if the user is logged-in and session has not timed-out. if yes it should proceed normally otherwise it should redirect to the login page. Through research I have found out that interceptors could be used for this purpose but before proceeding I thought its better to get some feedback on it from experts. Please suggest how it should be done and If possible put some code suggestions. Now it is easy to add my custom menu to the menu bar with: printMenu = menuBar()-addMenu(tr("&Print")); but my menu will be in the last position of the menu bar.   • Indexing Service: getting empty columns on custom properties

    I'm following this example: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2005/12/getting-started-with-indexing-service.html However, the conversion to dataset shows empty columns for my custom properties. If I use path or filename for the columns I get data back. I have set the properties to be cached, have tried both levels, and have rescanned full. I've tried this example on my desktop (windows vista 32bit) and on a Windows 2008 R2 server with the same results.
