    Hi all, Is it possible to simulate a USB drive with software only? I mean, for example, to expose a local memory space to the OS so the device manager will recognize it as a USB device. I'm not familiar with hardware implementation, but I'm sure that it is possible somehow to emulate the USB protocol. I began with this book - USB Design By Example.     I'm working w/ a function that expects a string formatted as a utf-8 encoded octet string. Can someone give me an example of what a utf-8 encoded octet string would look like? Put another way, if I convert 'foo' to bytes, I get 112, 111, 111. What would these char codes look like as a utf-8 encoded octet string? Would it be "0x70 0x6f 0x6f"? Thanks

  • How do you solve the 15-puzzle with A-Star or Dijkstra's Algorithm?

    I've read in one of my AI books that popular algorithms (A-Star, Dijkstra) for path-finding in simulation or games is also used to solve the well-known "15-puzzle". Can anyone give me some pointers on how I would reduce the 15-puzzle to a graph of nodes and edges so that I could apply one of these algorithms? If I were to treat each node in the graph as a game state then wouldn't that tree become quite large? Or is that just the way to do it?

  • xampp virtual host in config file causes forbidden error...

    Any idea why the following virtual host causes xampp to give me a "403 forbidden error"? <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName rst DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs/administrator/login.php" </VirtualHost> If I delete this code then xampp loads web pages just fine...but I don't want to have to type in the whole url...I want to just type in "rst" and go to my page. This is on a windows vista machine. Thanks for the help.

  • Seeking during mp3 streaming on Android

    I've got an android app that plays mp3s over HTTP. I give the Mediaplayer a URL using setDataSource, then call start in onPrepared, and all is well. Now, I'm trying to implement seeking. When i call seekTo, I don't see the Mediaplayer make a second request using the Range header to my webserver. From reading around, it seems like Android supports this. Do I need to do anything extra to get it to work? Thanks

Is there a Numpy built-in function that does the equivalent of In [12]: np.array([x.strip()=='hello' for x in strings]) Out[12]: array([ True, False], dtype=bool) which does give the correct result?

I've written a program that successfully retrieves the visited urls in a user's cache, using FindFirstUrlCacheEntry and FindNextUrlCacheEntry - but as I understand it this is not the same as the user's actual web history. In any case it does not seem to give correct results.

  • Opt-out of copy constructor

    This might be a silly question, but... I've been writing a number of classes that utilize non-copyable members. These classes are never initialized via the copy constructor in my source. When I try to compile without supplying my own copy-constructor, g++ throws out many errors about how it can't build a default copy constructor, due to the non-copyable member objects. Is there a way to tell the compiler to just not give me a copy constructor?

But with the upcoming version of Windows and Microsoft's flagship language, I am having a hard time understanding why Microsoft isn't pushing C# to its fullest potential to give it more exposure via their market share? In addition can be interpreted as "Is C# and the .Net framework suitable to run a modern OS like Windows 7" Btw this is not a flaming question, but curiosity. I use C# daily and really love it.
