• [Erlang] Changing working directory

  Hello, I have Erlang installed on my WinXP machine. Becouse so, I use it by a "werl.exe". The problem is, that I would like to change a default folder that werl starts in. I cannot find option that would let me do that, although I know there must be something like that. Could anybody help ?

  I'm having an issue with creating a submodule in my project. If I create the submodule directly in the repository root, everything works fine. If the submodule is any deeper, the repository does not get cloned. For example, this works as expected: git submodule add git://someproject.com/.git someproject However, when I run the following command, the project is added to .gitmodules and an empty repository is created, but no code is pulled down (even after a git submodule update --init).   I've run into some great resources for installing "acts_as_xapian", and the supporting native libraries that are necessary to make it work. I've even got it to work well on my dev machine (OS X). However, I've followed the instructions on this site, and it doesn't work on my Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) production box. After searching on internet I find a package for vaio control center and downloaded it from here, I don't know how to install it. • Samba shares won't automount on boot from fstab

  This question seems to have been asked a few times, but doesn't seem anybody has really solved it yet, at least not for my specific circumstance. I have FSAT setup to mount a CIFs share, but on boot up the share never gets mounted. However, if i run mount -a after boot up, it mounts everything just fine. Here's what my fstab looks like. Ignore the commented ones...   local install of wp site brought down from host - home page is ok but other pages redirect to wamp config page. I got all local files from host to www dir under local wamp. I got database from host and loaded to new local db and used this tool to adjust site_on_web.com to "localhost/site_on_local" now the home page works great and can login to admin page but when click on reservations page and others of site then site just goes to the wamp server config page even though the url shows correctly as localhost/site_on_local/reservations my htaccess file is this # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress and rewrite-module is checked in the php-apache-apache modules setting. now when I uncheck the rewrite-module is checked in the php-apache-apache modules setting or I clear out the whole htaccess file then the pages just goto Not Found The requested URL /ritas041214/about-ritas/ was not found on this server. Please help as I am unsure now about my process to move local site up and down and be able to make it work and without this I am lost...

• Cannot access personal website from home IP. More details inside.

  This is a recent problem I've been having. My site can be accessed from almost everywhere else except from my home IP, where I do most of my editing/updating, etc. I've tested my connection from my school's network, a friend's connection from out of state (multiple states), and through a tethered connection with my friend's Android. It works in all those cases, both viewing, accessing the cPanel, and using FTP. Here's the problem that happens to me when I try to view it from my home IP: The page times out in Firefox, IE, and Chrome. Using the cmd, I ran tracert and ping, both as failed attempts. Log here. downforeveryoneorjustme.com says my site is up. So do the other site checkers. I can't access my cPanel or FTP accounts. I can't access the host site. (I use perfectz.info for hosting, and I can't access their site either.) System settings: No firewall enabled. Ports are seemingly properly forwarded. (e.g. The ports are open in the router settings, and are open everywhere else.) I have an email forwarder set up from the cPanel that works just fine. (i.e. I can receive emails sent to that address. If any other information is needed, I'll do my best to provide it. UPDATE @ilhan: I use two things: 1) The site cPanel from in-browser. 2) Dreamweaver CS5 FTP. @Matthias: I tested both, and it passes the dual stack with a 10/10. What should I do then?

• Can't get directory listing on my Apache to work.

  Hi, I'm having trouble enabling the directory listing on apache. I did it a few weeks ago but had to reinstall cause my Wubi ran out of space, and now I can't get it to work and it's driving me crazy. I have a folder /home/joon/Dropbox/Projects/apache, which I want to set as the root for my apache. Here's the first lines of the 'default' file in the sites-available folder: <VirtualHost *:8888> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost DocumentRoot /home/joon/Dropbox/Projects/apache <Directory /home/joon/Dropbox/Projects/apache> Options +Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None The rest is unchanged. Ports.conf is set to Listen 8888. I thought the +Indexes should do it, but I must have overlooked something. I get a 403, forbidden. "You don't have permission to access / on this server." If I input the url of an image, http://127.0.0.1:8888/joon/bin/1chart.png, it displays, but no directory listing. Please help.

• Permissions issue: how can Apache access files in my Home directory?

  I know file permissions have been covered on here before, but im struggling to get my head around the concept for my scenario. I created the files on an old ubuntu installation. Ive copied the files into my new ubuntu installation and put them in my webroot. When i attempt to run the files (theyre PHP files) i get an error relating to permissions in an attempt to fix this, i assumed that they must still be owned by the previous owner, so i ran chown -R on the directory, with my username as an argument, in order to take ownership of all of the files in the directory. It should be noted that the usernames between new and old ubuntu installations were the same. When i attempt to run the files again, same problem: 500 error due to permissions problems. Can anyone tell me what other steps i should take? The webroot for my apache installation is inside my home folder. If i create new files in my webroot, they also work as expected, its only the old files that are causing the problem.

  I removed Ubuntu Builder using Synaptic with option Mark for Complete Removal. I thought that gonna delete folder (made by Ubuntu Builder) in home dir, but it's not. AFAIK Mark for Complete Removal is same as Purging, and that should delete all files made by program. Am I wrong? Is it safe to delete it with sudo rm -r /home/ubuntu-builder because it is in home dir? And last question. Why is it made folder in /home instead in ~/ dir?

How does one push or pull to another directory (which is easy on Hg). Fossil pull or push commands expect a URL and not a directory. When I start a server in one directory and try to push from another directory I get the "server loop" error message. Any ideas?

  I have a save-plots function which I call it in my final command of behavior space to export selected plots, I could create unique names for plots so they don't replace each other, for example my output file name for one of the plots is like this: DeathRates, PS true, HCHA false 100,true.csv Let FileNameDeathRates ( word "D: /Results/" "DeathRates, " "PS "PS? ", HCHA " HCHA? MPS "," CV? ".csv" ) So far is good, but I want is to have a directory with name of the experiment and export all plots of that experiment in that directory for example: Let DirName( word "D:/Results/" "PS "PS? ", HCHA " HCHA? MPS "," CV? ) Netlogo already exports plots with proper name and I just want the directory name to be different , and of course prior to the experiment the directory does not exist so the directory should be created first , I could not find a command to create a directory in netlogo without pathdir extension. • Where's My Windows Azure Subscriptions

I checked the website for those missed cloud service and they are still live. Then I checked my billing history but didn't found any problem. When I back to the portal I found that all of those resource are under my MSDN subscription. So I remembered that if this is related with the recently Windows Azure platform update.   This feature named "Enterprise Management", which provides the ability to manage your organization in a directory which is hosted entirely in the cloud, or alternatively kept in sync with an on-premises Windows Server Active Directory solution. By default, all existing windows azure account would have a default Windows Azure Active Directory (a.k.a. WAAD) associated. In the address bar I can find the default login WAAD of my account, which is "microsoft.onmicrosoft.com". To change the WAAD we can click "subscriptions" on top of the manage portal, select the active directory from the list of "filter by directory" and select the subscription we want to see, then press "apply". As you can see, the subscription under my MSDN was located in a WAAD named "beijingtelecom.onmicrosoft.com". This is because when Microsoft applied this feature, they will check if you have an existing WAAD in your subscription. If not, it will create a new one, otherwise it will use your WAAD and move your subscription into this directory. Since I created a WAAD for test several months ago, this subscription was moved to this directory.   To change the subscription's directory is simple. First we need to create a new WAAD with the name we preferred. As below I created a new directory named "shaunxu". Then select "settings" from the left navigation bar, select the subscription we wanted to change and click "edit directory". You don't have the permission to edit/change directory unless your Microsoft Account is the service administrator of this subscription. Then in the popup window, select the WAAD you want to change and press "next". All done. You need to log off and log in the portal then your subscription will be in the directory you wanted. And after these steps I can view my resources in this subscription.   Summary In this post I described how to change subscriptions into a new directory. With this new feature we can manage our Windows Azure subscription more flexible. But there are something we need keep in mind. 1. Only the service administrator could be able to move subscription. 2. Currently there's no way for us to see our Windows Azure services in more than one directory at the same time. Like me, I can see my services under "shaunxu.onmicrosoft.com" and I must change the filter directory from the "subscriptions" menu to see other services under "microsoft.onmicrosoft.com". 3.   How can I hide the root node in a SiteMapPath control when the user is on the root node page? For example, my breadcrumb trail on a child page is: Home Products Hammers Ball Peen which is fine. But when the user is on the Home page, the SiteMapPath control displays Home which is useless clutter. I want to suppress displaying Home (the root node) when the user is on the home page. I have the SiteMapPath control in a master page. Also, I'm handling SiteMapResolve to set the querystrings in the nodes.

• How I can I get my home network's IP address from a shell script?

  I have an account at a server at school, and a home computer that I need to work with sometimes. I have exchanged keys, and now only have one problem. While my school account has a name associated with it, "account_name@school", my home network does not. My plan is to have a script that every hour retrieves my home network's IP address, ssh'es into my school account and updates my ssh config file storing my home network's IP address. How can I retrieve my home computer's IP address from a shell script? P.S. Is this a sensible plan?
