  • Gif output not as smooth when selecting a sequence of files individually

    I have a sequence of images 001.png 002.png 003.png that I would like to combine into an animation. I used the following command convert -dispose 3 -loop 0 *.png out.gif And it looks ok. However, when I tried this convert -dispose 3 -loop 0 "001.png" "002.png" "003.png" out2.gif out2.gif was not as "smooth" as out.gif. Why is there a difference in the output between the two commands, which seem to mean the same thing?

  • (Ubuntu - Lamp) phpmyadmin install error 404 not found

    Hi, I install apache, mysql, php and then phpmyadmin on ubuntu desktop 10.04 version I test apache: localhost with browser and its works. I test mysql with console and its works. I test phpmyadmin http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ and get error 404 not found I see that solution for that brobem, copy /phpmyadmin/ to /www/, but I dont want to put in /www/ to my websites files (maybe I wrong or miss something-please tell me in this case). How this problem can be solved in the best way? Thanks

  • Apache2 does not start at boot time - Ubuntu 12.04

    I've install apache2 on an Unbuntu 12.04 machine, but I can't get the server to start at boot time. Although I've tried many things : reinstall apache2 run update-rc.d apache2 enable But each time the apache2 is not start after boot time : I get nothing with a pgrep apache2 or a ps -e | grep apache2 UPDATE I've also tried the logging tweak suggested in another related post, but no entries at all can be found in /var/log/syslog What could I do to make it work ?   • PHPMyAdmin works with https Only (not http)

    Hi I've been having a problem getting phpmyadmin to work consistently on my XP desktop and laptop computers for months now. When I type into Chrome's browser on both machines, localhost/phpmyadmin, I kept getting Error #1045 Access Denied for user at root@localhost (using password yes). Eventually, I realized that I had two (2) versions of mysql installed (XAMPP and MySQL Server 5.1) on both machines. So I uninstalled the MySQL Server 5.1I from the desktop and phpmyadmin worked. But when I uninstalled MySQL Server 5.1 from my laptop, it did not work. But I realized I could still get into MySQL Commandline Client using my password and that my databases were still intact. So I uninstalled and reinstalled XAMPP on the laptop and phpmyadmin worked after that. Now I have a new problem. On phpMyAdmin's home page has a message at the bottom: Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user 'root'. So I located the following lines in config.inc.php file: /* Authentication type and info */ $cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'config'; $cfg['Servers'][$i]['user'] = 'root'; $cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = ''; $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = true; and I just changed the last 2 lines as follows: $cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = 'mypassword'; $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = false; As soon as I did that and I tried to access phpmyadmin again, I got the Error #1045 message again, but when I tried https://localhost/phpmyadmin/ I got a red page saying this sites certificate is not trusted would you like to proceed anyway. And now it only works using https. I would really like to settle all my phpmyadmin problems once and for all so here are my questions: 1. Why does my laptop only access phpmyadmin via https? 2. How do I change my password in my configuration file? Also, if you have any other tips regarding phpMyAdmin, they are very welcome. Thanks in advance

  • Java works under Firefox but not under Internet Explorer

    Java works under Firefox but not under IE. Java applet activated in security settings, activated in add-ons, activated in advanced tab; that's the advice they usually give in forums... I've also deleted my temporary internet files, reinstalled IE8 and it is also set as the default java for IE through the control panel. IE version: 8.0.6001.18702 Java version: 1.7.0_03. Windows XP SP3. Any advice? Thanks :)

  • Windows not remembering default audio device?

    I prefer the audio output on my computer to use the standard audio jack output due to volume issues. But I am using a monitor with HDMI. I have chosen to set the default audio device to be "Speakers" But every time I reboot the default audio device is the HDMI Output again. I am running Windows 7 64bit. Why does it not remember the default device? (I do shutdown and boot up properly without errors.)

  • Mavericks not booting after successful installation over Lion (10.7.5)

    On my 2012 MacBook Pro (15 inch, non retina, i7, 10GB RAM) after successful installation when Mavericks tried to boot, it is freezing there with "Still waiting for root device" (Seen Using CMD + V during boot). Someone please help. My Mac is not usable anymore. Boots in safe mode but freezes in safe mode too. From safe mode reinstalled Mavericks but failed again with same error. If it can't be fixed please let me know if it can be reverted.

  • Windows 7 File shares randomly not accessible from OSx

    Hello Everyone!, My setup is I have a windows 7 computer acting as a file server. All my computers can connect to it fine including my mac. The problem is that randomly the mac will get kicked off the file share (even when i am in the middle of using it) and will not be allowed to reconnect to it until i reboot the windows 7 machine. (Rebooting the mac doesn't help) Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen?

  • Sendmail SMART_HOST not working

    Hello, I've defined SMART_HOST to be a specific server, lets call it foo.bar.com. However, when I send a test mail using 'sendmail -t', sendmail tries to use mx.bar.com, which subsequently rejects my mail. I've verified that foo.bar.com works and that mx.bar.com does not work (yay telnet). I've recompiled sendmail.mc vi make, make -C and m4. I've verified the DS entry in sendmail.cf. I've restarted sendmail correctly. I'm not sure how to proceed at this point. Any ideas? Here is my SMART_HOST line: define(SMART_HOST',foo.bar.com')dnl ...and here is the result of a test mail. It never tries to use foo.bar.com, instead it uses mx.bar.com. $ echo subject: test; echo | sendmail -Am -v -flocaluser -- [email protected] subject: test [email protected]...   • How can I troubleshoot Virtualbox port forwarding from Windows guest to OSX host not working?

    There are a plethora of questions about virtual box port forwarding problems but none with my specific details. I have a Windows install living in Virtual Box, hosted within OSX. I've got several webservers running on localhost on different ports within the Windows install. I cannot for the life of me get port forwarding to work so I can access those webservers from OSX.   • iTunes Album Artwork not available in all Sizes

    I used iTunes and everything worked fine until today. When I try to display Large / Medium artwork, not all the artworks are displayed. However, when I try to display the small artworks, everything works. Large (buggy): Small (normal): Is there a way to fix this? Tech Specs: iTunes on Windows 7 x64, v. 10.3.1. All the artworks are stored locally on my hard drive (.jpg files (i added them manually)).

  • RSH between servers not working

    I have two servers: one CentOS 5.8 & one Solaris 10. Both are joined to my workplace AD domain via PBIS-Open. A user will log into the linux server & run an application which issues commands over RSH to the solaris server. Some commands are also run on the linux server, so both are needed. Due to the application these servers are being used for (proprietary GE software), the software on the linux server needs to be able to issue rsh commands to the solaris server on behalf of the user (the user just runs a script & the rest is automatic). However, rsh is not working for the domain users. It does work for a local user, so I believe I have the necessary trust settings between the two servers correct. However, I can rlogin as a domain user from the linux server to the solaris server. SSH works too (how I wish I could use it).   • HP UX can not boot from Ignite Tape

    We have hp rp2470 server running hp-ux 11.00, with LVM mirroring. As for redundancy we have second rp2470 same hw (same two processors, same ram, same two hdd’s, same number of lan cards). I want to clone first one to the second. For that purpose I am making ignite tape with the following command: make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 Ignite tape finishes without problems. When I boot second server from this ignate tape, server is starting to boot, and ignite restore finishes without any errors, only few notes, which are normal. However vmunix is not booting and when restore finishes, it boot to ISL prompt. From this I cannot boot /stand/vmunix. I tried to run recovery shell but no success. When recovery shell ask to do frecover to restore critical files, then I receive error: frecover(5405): unable to open /dev/rmt/0m At first I thought that the problem might be in the difference of the firmware version of the servers: fw version of production server is: Firmware Version 43.50 and fw version of backup server is: Firmware Version 42.19 So i did a fw upgrade of my backup server so that both servers are v43.50, and tried a recovery but again cant boot the system. Next I did another archive tape with -I (Interactive) flag: make_tape_recovery -I -x inc_entire=vg00 and tried recovery with it, again no good. I cannot find any error or warnings on ignite log, and I cannot boot hpux. I am only on ISL prompt.
