  Hi, I was under the impression that the C# compiler will implicitly type an array based off a type that they can all be implicitly converted to.   I currently have a list containing Call's, which is the base class. • Delphi 2009 dbExpress and Interbase: Unicode migration steps and risks?

  Currently, our database uses Win1252 as the only character encoding. We will have to support Unicode in the database tables soon, which means we have to perform this migration for four databases and around 80 Delphi applications which run in-house in a 24/7 environment. Are there recommendations for database migrations to UTF-8 (or UNICODE_FSS) for Delphi applications? Some questions listed below. Many thanks in advance for your answers! are there tools which help with the migration of the existing databases (sizes between 250 MB and 2 GB, no Blob fields), by dumping the data, recreating the database with UNICODE_FSS or UTF-8, and loading the data back? are there known problems with Delphi 2009, dbExpress and Interbase 7.5 related to Unicode character sets? would you recommend to upgrade the databases to Interbase 2009 first? (This upgrade is planned but does not have a high priority) can we simply migrate the database and Delphi will handle the Unicode character sets automatically, or will we have to change all character field types in every Datamodule (dfm and source code) too? which strategy would you recommend to work on the migration in parallel with the normal development and maintenance of the existing application? The application runs in-house so development and database administration is done internally. Update: one problem I found now is that there are two different persistent field types for Unicode and non Unicode character fields. For the existing database, dbExpress creates TStringField objects. For the Unicode database fields, dbExpress creates (or expects!) TWideStringField objects. This looks like a lot of work lies ahead. While we could try to avoid persistent fields (and add calculated fields at run time), Of course we would prefer a solution which does not require so many changes in existing units and DFM files.

• MS CRM - getting the field that caused a form save

  I have a MS CRM 4 form where when certain fields are changed, I need those fields to be written to an excel sheet. So, I edited the form field onchange event to call crmform.save() which triggers a plugin to run that writes the field value to a named range (1 cell) of an excel sheet. However, I don't know which field caused the save. Is there a way to get that information? (Not all fields on the form need to go to the excel sheet) If I use this: DynamicEntity target = (DynamicEntity)Context.InputParameters[ParameterName.Target]; I can look at specific fields, but I have no way of knowing which ones changed. Any suggestions?

  I've got the code below, and I'm trying to set the from field to allow unicode. Currently in my email client I get "??". The subject line and any content shows the unicode correctly. And looking at the MSDN the property should be "urn:schemas:httpmail:from". Anyone solved this issue? When I was writing the code I felt that the similarities between Action1 and Action2 should warrant some sort of generalization. I've provided the UML Class diagram with the relevant parts (except for the interfaces, which I describe in code below).   This is sort of a continuation of one of my earlier posts, which involves the resolving of modules in my WPF application. This question is specifically related to the effect of interdependencies of modules and the method of constructing those modules (i.e. via MEF or through new) on MEF's ability to resolve relationships. I then used an [Import] to try to get MEF to resolve that for me. Can anyone explain how the two ways I have approached MEF here are flawed? I have been in the dark for so long that instead of reading about MEF and trying different suggestions, I've added MEF to my solution and am stepping into the code. The part where it looks like it fails is when it calls partManager.GetSavedImport(). For some reason, the importCache is null, which I don't understand. All the way up to this point, it's been looking at the part (Window1) and trying to resolve two imported interfaces -- IError and IPlugin. I would have expected it to enter code that looks at other assemblies in the same executable folder, and then check it for exports so that it knows how to resolve the imports...

The CreatedBy and CreatedOn are not seen. Is there a way I can get these values visible during databinding?

  Hello, I have a User which can have many Emails. This is mapped through a List collection (exposed by IEnumerable Emails on the User). For each User one of the Emails will be the Primary one ("Boolean IsPrimary" property on Email). How can I get the primary Email from User without NHibernate loads every email for the User ? I have the following two entities, with a corresponding table for each public class User { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual IEnumerable<Email> Emails { get; set; } // public virtual Email PrimaryEmail { get; set; } - Possible somehow ? } public class Email { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual String Address { get; set; } public virtual Boolean IsPrimary { get; set; } public virtual User User { get; set; } } Can I map a "Email PrimaryEmail" property etc. on the User to the Email which have "IsPrimary=1" set somehow ? Maybe using a Sql Formula ? a View ? a One-To-One relationship ? or another way ? It should be possible to change the primary email to be one of the other emails, so i would like to keep them all in 1 table and just change the IsPrimary property. Using a Sql Formula, is it be possible to keep the "PrimaryEmail" property on the User up-to-date, if I set the IsPrimary property on the current primary email to false, and then afterwards set the PrimaryEmail property to the email which should be the new primary email and set IsPrimary to true ? Will NHibernate track changes on the "old/current" primary Email loaded by the Sql Formula ? What about the 1 level cache and the 2 level cache when using SqlFormula ? I dont know if it could work by using a View ? Then i guess the Email could be mapped like a Component ? Will it work when updating the Email data when loaded from the View ? Is there a better way ? As I have a bi-directional relationship between User and Email I could in many cases of course query the primary Email and then use the "User" property on the Email to get the User (instead of the other way around - going from User to the primary Email) Hope someone can help ?

  I'm looking to create an SDL Tridion schema with a list of repeatable links while avoiding multiple fields per link. Hyperlink In a rich text field I have the following options for creating a hyperlink:* Component Anchor http:// mailto: Other When content authors create one of these hyperlinks, they have the option to select linked (visible) text as well as title and target attributes that function like typical HTML hyperlinks. "Richtext" means a Text field with Height of the Text Area = at least 2 rows with Allow Rich Text Formatting selected. Single Schema Field Link When creating a single schema field, I see these options: External Link (author options will include http://, mailto, Other) Multimedia Link Component Link (which can allow Multimedia Values) Current Ideas The best out-of-the-box (OOTB) setups I've found for this "list of links" is either offering: a single 2-line RTF with instructions to create a hyperlink (of any type) in that field separate fields for each type as well as additional fields for display name, target, and title (where the fields are assembled through template code), authors fill in only one of the fields (component link or external) Question Is there a way in the schema form designer, by updating the schema source, or through code to offer the same (RTF) hyperlink drop-down options, but in a single field? I could be missing something, but recognize this scenario isn't supported OOTB.

The code I inherited had this value for the name of the webserver in a Public Const in a Public Class called FixedConstants.   I have a problem with my RCP application. For commands it works fine, they are enabling or disabling correctly. But when i try to disable view and open perspective, that contains that view (myproject.view.input), it opened without that view, but also throws exception: !STACK 1 org.eclipse.ui.PartInitException: Could not create view: myproject.view.input at org.eclipse.ui.internal.ViewFactory.createView(ViewFactory.java:158) I can show full stacktrace if anyone want. I tried to debug my application and before i open my perspective whith that view, i checked currentState of my CommandState source provider, and all seemes to be ok: all variables values are correct and myproject.view.input.active = DISABLED Can anyone say, why exception is thrown?
