    Hi, I'm looking for a way to implement Facebook/Twitter/OpenID/... authentication on my WordPress blog. I have found plugins for Twitter, plugins for Facebook, plugins for OpenID.. but I'm afraid integration of all thos plugins will be tough. Also, I have found RPX that is doing the job perfectly, but I would prefer an open source soultion rather than relying on RPX web service. Would you have any clue? Nicolas

  • Offline product catalog

    I am looking for a way to automate the production of an offline product catalog using product data contained in an SQL Server database. I have thought about using both Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services for this but there may be something better suited for the job. There is a requirement to display product images also (currently stored in the database). I thought about perhaps doing a simple Word Mail Merge for this but am not sure how I will handle images.     I learned programming on the job via high-level languages. I'm trying to gain a better understanding of the lower-level workings of computing and picked up "Design of the UNIX Operating System" by Maurice Bach. What do I need to know in terms of which topics in this book may not be relevant to understanding Linux nuts and bolts? Is there a newer book or Linux-specific book that I should read instead? I really like the clarity of this particular book, though.

    I want to schedule a task on linux by icrontab, and the task is written in python and have to import cx_Oracle module, so I export ORACLE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH in .bash_profile, but it raise the error: libclntsh.so.11.1: cannot open shared object file. Since it is ok to run the task by issue the command in shell like python a.py # ok I change the task in icrontab into a shell script which invoke my python script, but the exception recurred? # the shell script scheduled in icrontab #! bash python a.py Could you help how to do with it?

  • How to save preferences to somewhere other than SharedPreferences

    My application is used on multiple platforms so it saves it preferences to a file (rather than to the standard Android SharedPreferences). Is there any easy of reusing the PreferenceActivity to save preferences to a file or is it a case of creating a whole new activity to do the job? If the latter is the case is there a layout I can use that will make the activity look like the normal preferences screen? PreferenceActivity uses com.android.internal.R.layout.preference_list_content but this doesn't appear to be available to apps for reuse.

They said they'd train me, but I want to take some initiative to learn about it on my own to be ahead. Where's the best place to start (tutorials, books, etc)?     Let's say there's a table created as follows: create table testTable ( colA int not null ) How would you drop the not null constraint? I'm looking for something along the lines of ALTER TABLE testTable ALTER COLUMN colA DROP NOT NULL; which is what it would look like if I used PostgreSQL. To my amazement, as far as I've been able to find, the MySQL docs, Google and yes, even Stackoverflow (in spite of dozens or hundreds of NULL-related questions) don't seem to lead towards a single simple SQL statement which will do the job.

    Hi there, I am currently building a webshop for my own where I want to increment the product-stock when the user fails to complete payment within 10 minutes after the customer placed the order. I want to gather information from this thread to make a design decision. I am using SQL Server 2008 and ASP.NET 3.5.     Hi i am writing a HTML parser for helping with some job duties, I can enter the site using IE explorer. but using csharp code i get an error i have tried using client.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials; client.Proxy.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials; i don't get the requested page, but an error page. if i can view page in explorer there must be a way to retrieve its html in C# (note that same page in other browsers requires authintication - not in IE) appreciate the help

  • Validate Linq2Sql before SubmitChanges()

    Can anyone tell me if/how you can validate the changes in a data context in Linq2Sql before calling SubmitChanges(). The situation I have is that I create a context, perform multiple operations and add many inserts alongside other processing tasks and then rollback if the submit fails. What I'd prefer to do is make some kind of "Validate()" call after certain tasks are done so that I can handle it before submitting the entire job.

  • GNU make: should -j equal number the number of CPU cores in a system?

    Hi What is you experience with the make -j flag? There seem to be some controversial if the jobs are supposed to be equal to the numbers of cores, or if you can maximize the build by adding one extra job that can be cued up while the others "work". The question is if it is better to use -j4 or -j5? And have you seen (or done) any benchmarking that support one or the other? Thanks Johan

  • Continous Build Integration with SourceSafe and Batch Files

    I want to create a continuous build integration system for .NET using just Windows batch files and Visual Source Safe. I've come up with the following batch file so far - set ssdir=\\xxxx\vss cd d:\mydir "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual SourceSafe\ss.exe" diff "$/sourcedir" -R -Q > diffout.txt This will spit out a file containg lines like "SourceSafe files different from local files" when a change has been made. My challenge is to figure out if those lines are in the file, then do a get and kick off MSBuild if they are. I'd then schedule the batch file to run every 10 minutes or so. Anyone got any thoughts on how to do that? Or any other ways of doing continuous build integration without downloading a complicated build automation system? Update: Happy to use cscript or powershell too, though not really familiar with those environments. My main aim is to avoid installing 3rd party software

When the work is done (or if I kill the job midway), I want the script to change back to the old working directory and wipe out the temporary one.
