  • Radius Authorization against ActiveDirectory and the users file

    - by mohrphium
I have a problem with my freeradius server configuration. I want to be able to authenticate users against Windows ActiveDirectory (2008 R2) and the users file, because some of my co-workers are not listed in AD. We use the freeradius server to authenticate WLAN users. (PEAP/MSCHAPv2) AD Authentication works great, but I still have problems with the /etc/freeradius/users file When I run freeradius -X -x I get the following: Mon Jul 2 09:15:58 2012 : Info: ++++[chap] returns noop Mon Jul 2 09:15:58 2012 : Info: ++++[mschap] returns noop Mon Jul 2 09:15:58 2012 : Info: [suffix] No '@' in User-Name = "testtest", looking up realm NULL Mon Jul 2 09:15:58 2012 : Info: [suffix] Found realm "NULL" Mon Jul 2 09:15:58 2012 : Info: [suffix] Adding Stripped-User-Name = "testtest" Mon Jul 2 09:15:58 2012 : Info: [suffix] Adding Realm = "NULL" Mon Jul 2 09:15:58 2012 : Info: [suffix] Authentication realm is LOCAL. • Silverlight Cream for April 25, 2010 -- #847

    - by Dave Campbell
In this Issue: Michael Washington, David Poll, Andrea Boschin, Kunal Chowdhury(-2-), Lee, and Chad Campbell. Shoutout: Not at all Silverlight, but Kirupa has a great article up about Elastic Collisions From SilverlightCream.com: Easily decouple your MVVM ViewModel from your Model using RX Extensions Michael Washington continues with his Simplified MVVM and uses Rx to allow him to put web service methods in the model and call them from the ViewModel. A “refreshing” Authentication/Authorization experience with Silverlight 4 David Poll expands on his previous post and demonstrates returning the user to the page prior to the login, just the way you'd like it. Using a PollingDuplex service to handle long running activities Andrea Boschin is back discussing PollingDuplex again, this time is discussing getting updates from a long-running process. Introduction to Silverlight - Silverlight tutorials Chapter 1 Kunal Chowdhury has an intro to Silverlight Tutorial that looks good... if you're just getting started, here's a place to look. Introduction to Silverlight Application Development - Silverlight tutorial Chapter 2 In his 2nd introductory tutorial, Kunal Chowdhury gets into code and discusses User Controls. Drag and Drop grouping in Datagrid Lee has a post up where he's taken a DataGrid and produced some of the features of some of the 3rd-party controls, specifically dragging column headers to a place above the grid to sort the grid. Silverlight – HTTP request to [Url] was aborted. …local channel being closed while the request was still in progress Chad Campbell is addressing timeout problems you may hit with connecting up to your WCF service. • Log Location Url Responses of 301 redirects from IIS

    - by James Lawruk
Is there a way to log 301 redirects returned by IIS with the (1) request Url and the (2) location Url of the response? Something like this: Url, Location /about-us, /about /old-page, /new-page The IIS logs contain the Request Url and the status code (301), but not the location Url of the response. Ideally there would be an additional field in the IIS Log called Location that would be populated when IIS responded with a 301. In my case the source of the redirect could be ISAPI Rewrite Rules, ASP.NET applications, Cold Fusion applications, or IIS itself. Perhaps there is a way to log IIS response data? Thanks for your help.

The webserver run just fine when we use the phpinfo.php test file. However as soon as I point it to my apps, nothing comes up. Check the error.log file and there's no error. Very mind boggling. I spent over 1 week trying to figure it out with no luck.. Please help?

  • Setup LAN to serve webpages and voip and access to the web site from inside LAN with domain name

    - by Mauricio Arias
I'd like to know if it will work: I have my domain and I´m serving a webpage in a nginx to the internet, but if I type my domain in my laptop inside LAN I access to my modem/router configuration, I cannot access to the web server unless I type the IP address. I would like to add a Bind server after the modem/router - (port forward, ports 80 and 5060), if the request is www.mydomain.com bind should resolve the nginx IP address and serve it, and if it is a voip request should address to the voip server and if I'd like to access to the website from inside LAN I'd like to type mydomain.com. Could I do it with this configuration? Do I need something else? Thanks in advace!

  • Workshop in Holland - and open questions

    - by Mike Dietrich
Thanks to everybody visiting yesterday the Upgrade Workshop in Maarsen. I had lots of fun - and I hope you'd enjoy it, too :-) The slides, as always, can be downloaded from: http://apex.oracle.com/folien Use the Schluesselwort/Keyword: upgrade112 And thanks to all those of you sending feedback regarding "traget/destination" (will change it in the slides) and other topics such as Enterprise Manager Grid Control 11g. Enterprise Manager 11g will be launched on 22-APR-2010 - and you can join the event live if you will be accidentialy in New York:http://www.oracle.com/enterprisemanager11g/index.html Thanks for this hint!!! Regarding the open questions: Will there be PSUs available for Intel Solaris? PSUs will be made available on nearly all platforms including Intel Solaris. Please see Note:882604.1 for platform information and Note:854428.1 for direct links to the PSU download location. Is COMMIT_WRITE=NOWAIT the default in patch set 10.2.0.4? I tried to verify this and neither couldn't find a bug entry nor a documentation saying the 10.2.0.4 has a different default setting (default behaviour is WAIT). Checked it in my 10.2.0.4 instances as well and there it is set to WAIT. If this parameter is not explicitly specified, then database commit behavior defaults to writing commit records to disk before control is returned to the client. If only IMMEDIATE or BATCH is specified, but not WAIT or NOWAIT, then WAIT mode is assumed. If only WAIT or NOWAIT is specified, but not IMMEDIATE or BATCH, then IMMEDIATE mode is assumed Please feedback to me if you have different experiences. Service Request escalation by telephone? Thanks for this update - I didn't realize that ;-) Now I know why it hasn't helped last month when I've updated an SR ... here's the official information on that: Note:199389.1 - Note has been updated on 24-FEB-2010. See the telephone number to Oracle support to request an escalation here: http://www.oracle.com/support/contact.html

  • Methodology behind fetching large XML data sets in pieces

    - by Jerry Dodge
I am working on an HTTP Server in Delphi which simply sends back a custom XML dataset. I am not following any type of standard formatting, such as SOAP. I have the system working seamlessly, except one small flaw: When I have a very large dataset to send back to the client, it might take up to 2 minutes for all the data to be transferred. The HTTP Server I'm building is essentially an XML Data based API around a database, implementing the common business rule - therefore, the requests are specific to the data behind the system. When, for example, I fetch a large set of product data, I would like to break this down and send it back piece by piece. However, a single HTTP request calls for a single response. I can't necessarily keep feeding the client with multiple different XML packets unless the client explicitly requests it. I don't have any session management, but rather an API Key. I know if I had sessions, I could keep-alive a dataset temporarily for a client, and they could request bits and pieces of it. However, without session management, I would have to execute the SQL query multiple times (for each chunk of data), and in the mean-time, if that data changes, the "pages" might get messed up, therefore causing items to show on the wrong pages, after navigating to a different page. So how is this commonly handled? What's the methodology behind breaking down a large XML dataset into chunks to save the load?

I have a Python script running on my server as a FastCGI using Apache2 and mod_fcgid. I let it spawn up to five processes. But I soon get messages like these in the Apache logs: [Wed Sep 02 23:16:34 2009] [warn] (103)Software caused connection abort: mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request function [Wed Sep 02 23:16:35 2009] [warn] (103)Software caused connection abort: mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request function and then Apache doesn't seem to recognize that all its processes are dead (I have a max of 5 backends) and refuses to spawn new ones: [Wed Sep 02 23:26:16 2009] [notice] mod_fcgid: /var/www/hacks.og.theinfo.org/picker.fcgi total process count 5 >= 5, skip the spawn request [Wed Sep 02 23:26:17 2009] [notice] mod_fcgid: /var/www/hacks.og.theinfo.org/picker.fcgi total process count 5 >= 5, skip the spawn request at which point it refuses to respond to requests from the outside world. • IIS7 500 error if form is submitted more than 120 seconds after it was originally loaded

    - by user41170
Summary: When I submit a form (via POST) to php more than 120 seconds after the form was first called I get a 500 server error. If I submit before 120 seconds, the form works fine. I'm obviously encountering some kind of timeout but I don't know where to look. I've enabled failed request tracing and received the following error: ModuleName="FastCgiModule", Notification="EXECUTE_REQUEST_HANDLER", HttpStatus="500", HttpReason="Internal Server Error", HttpSubStatus="0", ErrorCode="The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request. (0x800703e3)", ConfigExceptionInfo="" I don't understand why it matters when the form is submitted relative to the time the form is first rendered (note: the actual form processing takes a fraction of a second). Shouldn't these two requests be stateless? Suggestions? Configuration: Windows Vista SP1 IIS7 php 5.2.x under fastCGI This is a development server running on my laptop. All calls to IIS are coming from localhost.

  • Picking a code review tool

    - by marcog
We are a startup looking to migrate from Fogbugz/Kiln to a new issue tracker/code review system. We are very happy with Jira, especially the configurability, but we are undecided on a code review tool. We have been trialing Bitbucket, but it doesn't fit our workflow well. Here are the problems we have identified with BB: Comments can be hard to find: when commenting on code not visible in the diff when code that is commented on is later changed viewing the full file doesn't include comments (also doesn't show changes) Viewing comments on individual commits can be a pain We have the implementer merge the diff and close the issue, whereas pull requests are more suited to the open source model where someone with commit rights merges We would like to automate creation of the code review (either from Jira or a command line tool) No syntax highlighting Once the pull request exceeds a certain size, BB won't show the whole thing and you have to view individual commits Linking BB pull requests to Jira issues is a bit janky: we have a pull request URL field on Jira, but this doesn't work when there are changes in multiple repositories Does anyone have any good suggestion given the above? We are tight on budget, and Jira integration is a big plus. We also have multiple commits per issue, and would like to have the option of viewing individual commits in the review. It might also be worth noting that we have a separate reviewer and tester for each issue.

  • Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded...etc

    - by alaa9jo
Two days ago,a colleague of mine tried to publish an asp.net website (which is built in VS2008 using framework 3.5) to our server,he configured everything in IIS (he made sure that the selected asp.net version is 2.0) and launched the website..at first it was working great but when he tried to click on a specific treeview...BOOM..: "Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree that was used to save viewstate during the previous request. For example, when adding controls dynamically, the controls added during a post-back must match the type and position of the controls added during the initial request." In that page there were these control: a TreeView and a Placeholder, when the user selects any node then it's controls will be created dynamically into that placeholder..for the first time it's working fine but when (s)he select another node then that issue appears. He called me to help him with this issue, for me this is the first time I see such an issue, scratch my head then I decided to eliminate the possibilities of this issue one by one,at the development machine it's working perfectly,he published the website at the local IIS and again..it's working perfectly,I took a copy of the website and published it into my laptop but no issues at all,so this is means that it's not an issue in the code. So there is something missing/wrong in our server [it has Windows Server 2003],we went to the server and checked on the web-config and the configurations on IIS...nothing wrong so far,so I decided to check if the framework 3.5 is installed or not and the answer: it wasn't installed Of course he assumed that it was installed and there was nothing to tell if it wasn't from the "ASP.Net version" in IIS because frameworks 3.0 and 3.5 will not be listed there [2.0 will be listed there instead],the only way to check if it was installed or not is to search for the framework in this path:[WINDOWS Folder]\Microsoft.NET\Framework or check if it was installed in Add or remove programs. The obvious solution for his case: We installed Framework 3.5 SP1 into our server, did a restart to the machine and it worked ! If anyone faced the same issue and solved it using the same solution or with a different one please post it here to share experience.

  • Luminis and Google Apps Single Sign On

    - by J.Zimmerman
We are a community college that is plodding forward with a Google Apps for Education implementation. There is support for Single Sign On and a fair amount of documentation for implementing it. We are looking to provide integration with our portal which is currently Luminis 3 (we are upgrading to Luminis 4 within a year). There is documentation available for Luminis specific integration, but apparently it is by request only. I have put the request in to SungardHE (where we license Luminis) and am waiting for a response. My questions are as follows... Is anyone here running Luminis? Have you tried to integrate it with a 3rd party email service like Google Apps for Education or Microsoft LiveEDU? If so, can you elaborate on implementation details above and beyond your Luminis installation and Google Apps setup? Looking for more of a general road map and differences between integration options with Luminis 3 and Luminis 4. Thanks!

  • The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle Client

    - by jkrebsbach
There was a recent upgrade of the Oracle client on a production web server housing serveral app pools each containing multiple web sites.  The upgrade consisted of adding the 11.2 client tools on the web server, but leaving the 9.2 and 10.2 versions alone.   After learning the upgrade occured, I updated Oracle.DataAccess.dll on my site to the 11.2 dll, and the web site ran smoothly.   The next day I discover the site is throwing an error:   Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException:   The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle Client   The App Pool will connect with an installed version of the Oracle client provider, and coordinate database interactions.  If a request comes in for a web site configured using an earlier version of the provider, that is the version the App Pool will use for Oracle interactions.  If a request is made for a site configured for a different version of the provider, the App Pool will see a conflict and throw the above error.   This web site: http://splinter.com.au/blog/?p=156 described the steps to grab the DLLs for a provider and bring them local (for Oracle 11.1), but even when I brought the DLLs for the Oracle Provider into the local bin directory, the App Pool would still determine the version of the oracle client and continue to throw the exception.   My only resolution for the above problem has been to have dedicated IIS app pools per version of Oracle client being leveraged.

  • Debug Apache mod_status showing 151 requests/sec - 2.7 GB/second

    - by James Hackett
    One of my web servers went crazy this morning and showed "151 requests/sec - 2.7 GB/second - 140.7 MB/request" the normal is like "11.1 requests/sec - 65.6 kB/second - 5.9 kB/request" I don't even think that kind of through put is possible on my server. It was also listing odd symbols for the urls and the amount of data transfered for connections was off the meter 246-0 -1286402072 0/0/0 ? 0.00 -1444841118 0 -5416403825852416.0 0.00 0.00 °Rk³ 247-0 18 0/0/0 ? -13112985.76 2094967848 0 -5428200825946112.0 0.00 0.00 248-2 23437 0/0/2 _ 0.00 0 0 0.0 0.00 -5340330065920.00 74.53.23.134 web2.mydomain.com OPTIONS / HTTP/1.0 249-2 23279 0/2981898840/0 W 16673317.60 11 0 0.0 2844.06 0.00 201.144.221.245 www.mydomain.com GET /cb8ff49a2395a7b1accbbce1e4cf164f/view/256 HTTP/1.1 250-0 0 40600/3009863336/0 ? 3816369.92 910209710 0 2913775.3 -5323551899648.00 -5324315849947.28 èøϲ Has anyone seen anything like this before and know what might be causing it? • Reminder: True WCF Asynchronous Operation

    - by Sean Feldman
A true asynchronous service operation is not the one that returns void, but the one that is marked as IsOneWay=true using BeginX/EndX asynchronous operations (thanks Krzysztof). To support this sort of fire-and-forget invocation, Windows Communication Foundation offers one-way operations. After the client issues the call, Windows Communication Foundation generates a request message, but no correlated reply message will ever return to the client. As a result, one-way operations can't return values, and any exception thrown on the service side will not make its way to the client. One-way calls do not equate to asynchronous calls. When one-way calls reach the service, they may not be dispatched all at once and may be queued up on the service side to be dispatched one at a time, all according to the service configured concurrency mode behavior and session mode. How many messages (whether one-way or request-reply) the service is willing to queue up is a product of the configured channel and the reliability mode. If the number of queued messages has exceeded the queue's capacity, then the client will block, even when issuing a one-way call. However, once the call is queued, the client is unblocked and can continue executing while the service processes the operation in the background. This usually gives the appearance of asynchronous calls.

  • How do I stop IIS from sending minutely GET requests to my proxied mongrel server?

    - by brad
I have a rails application running on Windows Server 2008 running IIS7.5. I am using Application Request Routing to send requests to the Mongrel server via IIS (I didn't want to set it up like this but this was the environment I have been forced to use). IIS seems to send a GET request to the Mongrel server once every minute. This is not a huge deal but it does cause a lot of pollution in my logs and also creates a large amount of unwanted session data. I would really like to stop it from doing this. Is there a way?

  • Security exception in Twitterizer

    - by Raghu
Hi, We are using Twitterizer for Twitter integration to get the Tweets details. When making call to the method OAuthUtility.GetRequestToken, following exception is coming. System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. When the application is hosted on IIS 5, the application works fine and the above error is coming only when the application is hosted in IIS 7 on Windows 2008 R2. and the method OAuthUtility.GetRequestToken throws above exception. It seems the issue is something with code access security. Please suggest what kind of permissions should be given to fix the security exception. The application has the Full Trust and I have even tried by registering the Twitterizer DLL in GAC and still the same error is coming. I am not sure what makes the difference between IIS 5 and IIS 7 with regards to code access security to cause that exception. Following is the stack track of the exception. [SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.] System.Security.CodeAccessSecurityEngine.Check(Object demand, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean isPermSet) +0 System.Security.CodeAccessPermission.Demand() +54 Twitterizer.OAuthUtility.ExecuteRequest(String baseUrl, Dictionary`2 parameters, HTTPVerb verb, String consumerKey, String consumerSecret, String token, String tokenSecret, WebProxy proxy) +224 Twitterizer.OAuthUtility.GetRequestToken(String consumerKey, String consumerSecret, String callbackAddress, WebProxy proxy) +238 Twitter._Default.btnSubmit_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) +94 System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) +115 System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument) +140 System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(IPostBackEventHandler sourceControl, String eventArgument) +29 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +11045655 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +11045194 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest() +91 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) +240 ASP.authorization_aspx.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) in c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\twitter\c2fd5853\dcb96ae9\App_Web_y_ada-ix.0.cs:0 System.Web.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +599 System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) +171 Any help would be greatly appreciated.
