  • Magento My Account Layout XML Problem

    Hi there, I'm having issues getting the customer.xml layout file to work properly for the customer's "my account" pages. The navigation links and the previously ordered items that are usually on the left hand side of the page won't show up on the page, but if I change the reference name to "content" in the xml file, it shows up (except it's obviously then on the right hand side). I've checked the template it's referencing (2columns-left.phtml), and the getChildHtml('left') is there in the correct position. I've tried everything I can think of (changing the name of the reference in both the template and the layout xml, for example) to no avail. The templates that the layout is referencing are obviously working because they do show up when put into the "content" area. This installation of magento is version 1.3.1.1. I appreciate any advice you have to give me... *Update: I tried changing the reference to "global_messages", and it doesn't show there either.   • How to monitor and maintain my grails application in live/production environment?

    It is the first time I have ever launched live a website (with Grails web framework under Amazon EC2 platform and Cloud Foundry) and I realized quickly that I am not ready for monitoring and maintening correctly my application in production mode (fortunately the website is accessible to a very limited number of users) . The issues I have faced so far are: Cannot change my views. I need to redeploy my application I have no monitoring. I don't know who is connected, when do they sign in / sign out... Redploying my application (upload WAR + deploy) takes at least 30 minutes. I don't know how to restart my Tomcat server without a redeploy through Cloud Foundry ! ... So, my question is very simple: What tools (including grails plugins) and methods can you recommend me for taking me out from my current blindness?

  • Force php through the .net engine in iis7

    I have converted a php to asp.net mvc and have it hosted with the Rackspace cloud. All works great apart from some php links are still linked from other sites and within search engines. My question is what do I need to add to my web.config to force php sites to go through the .net engine? These links work as expected as I can catch the 404 and redirect where need be:- http://www.securahome.net/myjunk.info http://www.securahome.net/myjunk.phpp However this one doesn't:- http://www.securahome.net/myjunk.php I have spoken to Rackspace cloud and they say "its not possible as IIS doesn't recognize php files. You can setup mime types to handle them" This however makes no sense and I think they did not understand the problem. Does anyone have a solution?

  • Best Application for storing code snippets

    Hi all, Just wondering if you can point me in the direction of a simple, fast program which stores code snippets. I have been using a local wiki up to now, but I find it a little annoying at times. Ideally I would like this application to be portable - i.e. it could run off of a USB stick on multiple machines with no installation. What do you guys use? EDIT: I would prefer a solution that was decoupled from the IDE and stored locally, not in the cloud. EDIT 2: Thanks for all the replies thus far, but I am still awaiting a non cloud / web based portable solution. Anyone else care to weigh in? :)

  • TCP 30 small packets per second polutes connection with server

    I'm testing connection with flash client and cloud server(boost::asio for software) over TCP connection. My connection with server already is really poor - 120 ms ping in average. I found when i start to send packets with 2 bytes size (without tcp header) with speed 30 packets/s ping grow to 170-200 average. I think that it's really bad and my bad connection and bad cloud provider is reason for this high ping without any load. What do you think? (I tested my software and can compute about 50k packets/s so software is not a problem).

  • Easiest solution to sync an offline (local desktop application) database with a central server and multiple pc's?

    I have a desktop application which uses a local database. (This can be SQLite, SqlCe, PostgreSQL or any other database I will be able to install locally, I haven't decided which one to use yet.) The plan is to achieve the following: A user can subscribe to some kind of cloud service. If he does his local database should be synced with the online database (one for all users, or one per user, whatever the easiest solution is) so he will be able to sync his local database data between multiple PC's, can access his data online. (Much like dropbox does for files.) What is the best, easiest (and preferably cheapest) solution to achieve this? I am looking into DataObjects.net but I can't find much documentation about their Sync feature. Or, are there other alternatives? For example, I start with some kind of cloud service which allows local caching and use the local caching for users who do not subscribe to the service. Any pointers, tips or experiences are welcome.

I have checked for the files existance in my home directory and it's not there. I have checked for the cronjob entry and it's not there either. I cannot, after reading through the documentation, seem to see what's potentially wrong with my code. Any thoughts on why this is not working? Am I missing something blatant?

  • What do you use to store all of your personal data?

    I have been on a quest for years to find the perfect tool to store all "my stuff". You know... personal information, code snippets, software keys, people's birthdays, whatever. There are lots of tools out there for this sort of thing, but I've never found any of them quite what I need. Ideally, I would just be able to type some notes, tag them (I don't like the idea of folder organization... too cumbersome) and then easily search and retrieve what I need later. It seems so simple, but for some reason I just can't find it. I currently use Backpack (sometimes), which is OK, but I hate the fact that you always have to create "pages" to store things. I don't want to have to do that. I want to just type some notes, tag it and save. That's it. And Backpack didn't even have search for a long time. What I do like about Backpack is that it's fast and it's web based. I've tried some desktop apps, which probably came closer to the functionality I want, but I just hate being tied to a single machine. I want to be able to get to my stuff anywhere, so the web based thing is a definite requirement. Anyway, I'm thinking about writing my own thing for this if I can't find anything, but before I make the attempt, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I've used Backpack, Zoho Planner, Stikkit and Google Notes so far, and they are not quite to my liking. Anyone? (Sorry if this is off-topic, but I figured you guys might be legitimately into this kind of thing... you know, storing code snippets and such.) UPDATE: I've been using Evernote for a few days, and it is exactly what I've been looking for. It is totally tag based and allows both online and offline usage. The desktop app sits in your system tray and allows you to add whatever you want on the fly either as text notes or clippings from the browser. It also syncs it to the web (if you want) where you can get to it from anywhere using their web client. They even have a mobile client which I haven't used, but I will try it soon. I checked the Aruba website and you need to register to access the support information but registration isn't instant and takes several days. I've waited for quite a while now and have tried googling and checking the Aruba forums but have found no indication of a manual. What I really need is the ability to reset the controller and APs so I can access the device with the default username and password. There is no reset button on this device so I have no idea how you go about resetting the controller and APs. Hm it seems I can't create a new tag as a new user. If possible can someone add an "Aruba" tag?

    Hi, My webserver is running Plesk and part of my site structure goes like this: / /httpdocs (domain root folder, URL: http://www.domain.com) /subdomains /subdomains/blog/httpdocs (blog root folder, URL: http://blog.domain.com) I have a WordPress installation in the domain root folder and WP is configured to display a static page when accessing www.domain.com and to display the blog when accessing www.domain.com/blog. However, I want to redirect (using mod_rewrite) all requests from http://blog.domain.com/ to http://www.domain.com/blog/. A few examples: Accessing http://blog.domain.com/archives should access http://www.domain.com/blog/archives/ Accessing http://blog.domain.com/tag/abc should access http://www.domain.com/blog/tag/abc/ Accessing http://blog.domain.com/some-post-title should access http://www.domain.com/blog/some-post-title All this should be transparent to the user, the address shouldn't be changed on the browser's address bar. In better words, I want a URL rewrite and not a URL redirect. Is this achievable with mod_rewrite? Can anyone help me with the .htaccess? All my attempts on doing so have failed...

  • Editing tags in bunch of MP3 files?

    I have a bunch of files whose filename looks like "<Track> - <Title> - <Artist>.mp3". I'd like to rewrite their MP3 Title tag to be "<Track> - <Title>.mp3" so that each song is displayed correctly on my elcheapo MP3 player. Since I rarely edit MP3 files anyway, MP3 Tag Tools 1.2 Build 008 from 2003 was good enough, but I can't figure out how to do this with this application. I just tried MP3Tag 2.46, but couldn't figure out if it can do this (created a new Action, to no avail). I also tried TagScanner 5.1.558, without success. Does someone know of a good, free Windows application that can do this? Thank you.

    I can't login to Facebook because they think someone tried to hack my account. To verify it's really me they present me with photos that my friends have been tagged in and ask me to give them the correct names of who is tagged in the photos. Now because alot of my friends think it's funny to tag themselves in random photos of others, or tag themselves as objects in photos, I can't successfully get all 10 correct. I also have alot of friends of friends that have added me that I don't know closely enough to identify the back of their head in a distant blurry photo. Facebook only allows one attempt per hour to try this. How am I supposed to restore my account when they have such a stupid method to prove identity?

If not, can anyone independent of OpenCandy and their affiliates verify that /NOCANDY works? Background: About to install WinSCP onto a fresh Windows installation, and found out that new versions have OpenCandy associated with their installer. For the sake of balance, here's a link to WinSCP's FAQ on OpenCandy. The claim about /NOCANDY working appears on WinSCP's web site, but the same boilerplate appears on other OpenCandy web sites. If the OpenCandy people are offended by the tag "spyare": sorry, but it's the main tag here, rather than "adware".

Please consider, there can be more than one occurence of c (next to each other or not) in one tag...   • creating TAGS for Ruby and emacs

    I ran the following from my top level Ruby on Rails directory find . -name "*.rb" | etags - Then within emacs I visited that tag file. This works reasonably well to find some of the methods and most of the files, however it is having trouble finding some of the extra methods/classes that I use in my helpers directory. e.g. I have a file in my helpers dir called my_foo_helper.rb If I search my tags for that file, it finds it. However, if I try to find a tag for one of the methods within that module it doesn't find it at all. If I use Aptana or something like that it seems to be able to locate those methods. Any thoughts?   • Chromium always starts as floating in awesome.wm

    I'm using awesome as window manager for a small surf&info terminal. Chromium is started directly after login on the first workspace and should be displayed fullscreen. I've set the layout of all workspaces to awful.layout.suit.max and followed Awesome FAQ so that Chromium and all other (automatically) started programs will be shown on the right workspace. All programs except Chromium will start correctly in fullscreen mode. I tried { rule = { class = "chromium-browser" }, properties = {floating = false, tag = tags[1][1]}} and { rule = { class = "chromium-browser" }, properties = {tag = tags[1][1]}} but Chromium will always start in floating mode. This is a bit annoying as you still see awesome's panel at the top.

  • Using Superuser paths for specific topics

    I have a very specific question, which I have not been able to find the solution I want to search Superuser and other websites using Google, but I want to limit it to a specific subject (e.g. the R programming language). Using Superuser paths for specific topics like "site:http://superuser.com/questions/tagged/r" Does not work, as can be seen when comparing searching using full path compared to searching entire website with more specific question. Also note the first hit being one step in the direction i want, but since this path itself does not hold the questions in its path it does not solve my issue. There should however be a better way to do this, e.g. by having a very specific Google search tag for the R programming language, which would have to be either in the path, on the webpage, or tagged differently. Seeing as Superuser has a good tag system I am optimistic that this can be used to solve my question. Is there a solution to this that always works on Superuser and similar sites?

  • Excel; exporting/importing different columns to different csv files

    Is there a way to batch export different columns to different csv files in excel on an OSX, I'm thinking something along the lines of possibly automator, applescript or bash. I've had a look play around with automator and so far no look. The best I have accomplished export the whole sheet, then use sed to strip out what I don't need, however this is terribly inefficient. Also, is there a method, to batch import multiple csv files into columns. Thanks in advance && sorry I didn't tag excel correctly it wouldn't allow me to create the excel:mac tag

  • Deafault password for hp c7000 blade servers.

    Has anybody worked on hp c7000 blade servers before. I have just ordered them and brought them on network. I tried logging in from web browser but I do not have the default password to log in. User guide says default password is provided with the tag supplied with the KVM module but I did not find any such tag. I am also working with hp customer care but it's taking too much time. So posted here to get some quick help from you guys. Thanks!
