  • JQuery: Selecting Text in an Element (akin to highlighting with your mouse)

    I would like to have users click a link that then selects the html text in another element (NOT an input). By "select" I mean the same way you would select text by dragging your mouse over it. This has been a bear to research because everyone talks about "select" or "highlight" in other terms. Is this possible? My code so far is thus: html: <a href="javascript:" onclick="SelectText('xhtml-code')">Select Code</a> <code id="xhtml-code">Some Code here </code> js (jquery): function SelectText(element) { $("#" + element).select(); } but it doesn't work.     Hello, i need some help with a menu. See the following menu: menu The code for this menu: <div id="menu"> <ul> <li class="home"><a href="#home" class="panel">home / <span class="go">you are here</span></a></li> <li class="about"><a href="#about" class="panel">about / <span class="go">go here</span></a></li> <li class="cases"><a href="#cases" class="panel">cases / <span class="go">go there</span></a></li> <li class="photos"><a href="#photos" class="panel">photos / <span class="go">maybe here</span></a></li> <li class="contact"><a href="#contact" class="panel">contact / <span class="go">or even here<span></span></a></li> </ul> </div> What i want to do: onclick a menu item: 1. change the red text to yellow 'you are here' 2. change the previous menu item back to its original state (eg red and "go here"). The 4 values "go here", "go there", "maybe here", "or even here" are the 4 values that should be assigned to the other menu items (like the example). I don't how to get the values from the array and assign them too a menu item. The replace text works, but not the change-back-to-original-state. Also, right now, for some reason i can't click ONTO the list item itself in order to activate the jquery code. I need to click just a few pixels under it. But i guess that's a css issue.     problem: Button size is enough, however when I change title, the title text cannot fit the button width. Any SDK function can solve this problem, or I need to manually code to solve it? Please refer to following pictures. design in the nib file. initial show in simulator when I change the title text tried some ways before _button.titleLabel.adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = YES; the way will change my font size. I cannot accept the way. [_button setTitleEdgeInsets:UIEdgeInsetsMake(10.0, 10.0, 0.0,0.0)]; the way change label's position only, not label size. [_button.titleLabel sizeToFit]; result is same with picture(3). [_button sizeToFit]; title moved to upper left corner, and the title still the same result. Just confused, my button size is big enough, why title size is so small?

  • "Access is denied" when copying text file to printer UNC path

    We have a new server running Server 2008 R2. We also have a "DOS-based" program that prints directly to the UNC path of a print share. With the new server, we are unable to print from this program. According to support, the program's printing works in the same way as if we were to do a "copy mytextfile.txt \\myserver\myprinter". When we try to run this command in DOS, we get "Access is denied". Support is saying that this is why the DOS program is not able to print. I have tried granting all permissions on the printer to the appropriate users (under Security of the printer properties) but that did not work. Is there a policy setting that would cause this to be denied?

    I have a list of 1285 keywords (database object names) that I have compiled into a TXT file; one keyword per line. I would like to search a directory of files (most have a .aspx or .cs extension) using this list of keywords. My main goal is find out which of the 1285 database objects are being referenced in these files. Can anyone recommend a tool that could accomplish this? Otherwise, I will just create my own. Thanks.

The problem is that I don't no how to do the line executing part. Here is my code, I thought using the \r would fool the console.     i have zip file inside a Text file (file.txt inside a file.zip) and i would have to append to this file another text file file.txt outside the zip file. How Can i do ? Is there a solution ? I've tried to add Append =1 parameters to IO::Compress::Zip but the file inside the zip been overwritten .. use IO::Compress::Zip qw(zip $ZipError) ; $filenameToZip = 'file.txt'; zip $filenameToZip => "file.zip",Append => 1 or die "zip failed: $ZipError\n"; Need i to decompress the zip, append/merge the two TXT file's and compress the file Again ?     I have a text file containing data in rows and columns (~17000 rows in total). Each column is a uniform number of characters long, with the 'unused' characters filled in by spaces. For example, the first column is 11 characters long, but the last four characters in that column are always spaces (so that it appears to be a nice column when viewed with a text editor). Sometimes it's more than four if the entry is less than 7 characters. The columns are not otherwise separated by commas, tabs, or spaces. They are also not all the same number of characters (the first two are 11, the next two are 8 and the last one is 5 - but again, some are spaces). What I want to do is import the entires (which are numbers) in the last two columns if the second column contains the string 'OW' somewhere in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I think question was misunderstood. There is a drawable inside the Toggle Button (flame_icon) and it is set as background. I want it to be centered. There is no Text, just an image. I need a Toggle Button because I need to have an Active State when selected. There is only drawableLeft, drawableRight, drawableTop, etc. I want a draweableMiddle that doesn't seem to exisit.

    I have a text box that when it is disabled the text in it is gray and kind of dithered. (This is the standard functionality.) Is there a way to make this easier to see? I have tried this: txtBoxNumber.Enabled = false; txtBoxNumber.ForeColor = Color.Black; and that has no effect. NOTE: This is a .net Compact Framework app, but I am not tagging the question with CF because I think it is the same for normal .net.

    I enabled text filtering on my ListView in the expected way; adding android:textFilterEnabled=”true” in resource definition and (as I'm using a SimpleCursorAdapter) setting a FilterQueryProvider that provides a filtered cursor like so: public Cursor runQuery(CharSequence constraint) { Cursor cur = mDba.fetchTrackers(mCurrentGroupId, constraint.toString()); startManagingCursor(cur); return cur; } My question is this: once the user selects a list item, goes off to another activity, and returns to this one, how can I control the state of the filter previously applied? What I'm seeing right now is that when I return to the activity, the cursor being used is the unfiltered one set on the filter at creation, but the filter text they typed is still shown (and typing keys causes the filter to be applied). What I'd like to do is either clear the filter, or keep the filtered cursor that the activity was left with.

This code should just be pulling the local time so why is it a month behind?     I a building an application with a similar layout to iTunes i.e. it has a sidebar that doubles as a menu. Some of the text will exceed the boundary and rather that having it be truncated I would like to show ellipses (see line image below "Purchased on My iPh..."). How would I go about this in WPF? Suppose I made the boundary movable i.e. user can change the size of the panel (split panel in Windows Forms), how would I go about dynamically showing the ellipses/text? Thanks in advance, B

    I have mysql table that has a column that stores xml as a string. I need to find all tuples where the xml column contains a given string of 6 characters. Nothing else matters--all I need to know is if this 6 character string is there or not. So it probably doesn't matter that the text is formatted as xml. Question: how can I search within mysql? ie SELECT * FROM items WHERE items.xml [contains the text '123456'] Is there a way I can use the LIKE operator to do this? Thanks

    Hi, I have an ASP.NET 2.0 webapp (with C#). I wanted to add a button which, when clicked would highlight selected text. By 'highlight', I mean change the CSS properties of the text so that it can stand out. I think this can be done with some clientside JavaScript. I know that you can assign a Javascript function to the onclick event of an HTML input button, but since I'm not very proficient at JS the function itself I have no idea how to write...     Hi all, I am currently developing an application for android. I'm not sure if this is possible but here it goes. When the user clicks and holds on a text box whether it is a website or a piece of software a menu is displayed which shows paste and input method. What I want to be able to do is add my own items to this menu and when the user clicks on my item it will load my app, they can select an item from a list view.     I'm using a stored procedure in a sql database as the data source for a SqlDataSourceControl on my .aspx page. I'm then using the SqlDataSourceControl as the data source for a gridview on my page. Paging is set to true on the gridview. What i would like to do is set the text of a label to the total number of rows in the gridview. I can use this code 'labelRowCount.Text = GridView2.Rows.Count & " layers found" to return the number of results per page, but it doesn't give me the total. I've looked in several places and haven't been successful in finding a solution.
