• Dynamic adding of usercontrols not showing control on page

  I am trying to insert a user control dynamically into my default.aspx page via the following method in the page_init: Dim control As UserControl = LoadControl("~\Modules\Content.ascx") Controls.Add(control) When I run the page there is no sign of the usercontrol. Am I using the correct code to insert the usercontrol? Is there an alternative method of insertion available? Does the fact that the usercontrol has a page_load make a difference? Do I need to register the control in my aspx page at design time? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

• GDI fast scroll

  Hi! I use GDI to create some custom textwidget. I draw directly to the screen, unbuffered. now i'd like to implement some fast scrolling, that simply pixelshifts the respective part of the framebuffer (and only redraws the newly visible lines). I noticed that for example the rich text controls does it like this. If i use some GDI drawing functions to directly draw to the framebuffer, over a rich text control, and then scroll the rich text, it will also scroll my drawing along with the text. so i assume the rich text simply pixelshifts it's part of the framebuffer. I'd like to do the same, but don't know how to do so. Can someone help? (independant of programming language)) thanks!

• Difference in DLL when compiling on Build Server instead of Dev Machine.

  I have an application that loads user controls into .NET web application. When I compile and test the application locally on my dev machine it works on my machine. The project builds successfully using MSBuild on our build server. However when I deploy the dll generated by MSBuild on the build server I get the following error when the application loads the control: BC30456: 'CreateResourceBasedLiteralControl' is not a member of 'ASP.usercontrols_somecontrol_ascx'. I took a look and compared the dll generated on my machine and compared it(looked at the file size) with the one created by the build server and noticed a difference in the file size. This is confusing considering the code being built locally and on the build server is IDENTICAL. I manually compared each file by hand. So my question is: What is causing this error? What would be different between MSBuild's compilation of the code and what is going on in Visual Studio when compiling the code?

  I have a problem with performance of my code under Windows Forms. Have a form, her layout is depending on constructor data, because he layout must be OnLoad or in Constructor generated. I generation is simple, base FlowLayoutPanel have other FlowLayoutPanels, for each have a Label and TextBox with DataBinding. Problem is this is VERY SLOW, up to 20 seconds, i drawing less than 100 controls, from Performace Session i know a problem is on 70% procesing functions: System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlCollection.Add(class System.Windows.Forms.Control) System.Windows.Forms.ControlBindingsCollection.Add(class System.Windows.Forms.Binding) How i can do with this? Recently my resharper told me that my variable "MetaDescription" hides property 'string System.Web.UI.Page.MetaDescription' After small investigation the peace of code that worked earlier: HtmlMeta MetaDescription = new HtmlMeta(); MetaDescription.Attributes.Add("name", "description"); MetaDescription.Attributes.Add("content", ((IFriendlySEO)Page).DescriptionString); Header.Controls.Add(MetaDescription); was replaced with much more readable: MetaDescription = ((IFriendlySEO)Page).DescriptionString; (same for MetaKeywords).   I am working with Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.RectangleShape, but the question is common for components or controls in general. Maybe I could invalidate each time the Parent in the OnPaint, but if this is not a good solution if the parent has a time consuming repaint logic or I have a lot of my custom component moving at the same time. How do I properly repaint the component?

  As a long time user of Delphi 7, I've rolled my own mouse wheel handling in a few controls but lately I've noticed that some recent applications only need the mouse cursor to be placed over a control (e.g a list box or tree view) for the mouse wheel activity to cause that control to scroll. This feels nice (as opposed to having to click focus a control before it responds to the wheel. Now I've moved to Delphi 2010 I'm wondering what is the 'correct' behavior? And what can I use in Delphi that avoids me having to bodge this with my own solutions now? Thanks.

  Hi I have a number of legacy web controls (ascx) that contains huge amounts of inline C#. The forms contain a number of repeated and duplicate code. Our first plan is to move the code into code behinds per file, then refactor etc... were doing this to upgrade the client to the latest version of their cms At the moment we are going to have to manually copy and paste from hundreds of files, create a code behind, copy the code, add the namespaces based on the client-side imports and then do any tidying up does anybody PLEASE know of a tool that can do the majority of this work for us ? • How do I get all values from a listbox that are not selected in ASP.NET MVC

  Hello, I have a form that (amongst other things) contains 2 multi-select listboxes. Basically you can add items to the one on the right from the full list of items on the left using some add/remove buttons. The problem is that I cannot see a way of picking up the contents of the listbox when posting back to the controller. I have followed this example: http://ittecture.wordpress.com/2009/04/30/tip-of-the-day-198-asp-net-mvc-listbox-controls/ This works fine if you have actually selected the items in the listbox before posting. • Recommendation for serial communications in Access 2007

  I need to communicate with a bar code scanner connected over a serial port in Microsoft Access. In older versions of Access I was able to use a wrapper around MSCOMM32.ocx that no longer seems to work. I can't use wedge communication because I need to use ACK/NACK which is only supported through the RS232 interface and I need to send messages to the scanner, which is also only supported through the RS232 interface. Are there any controls in widespread use that support serial communication in Access 2007? EDIT: In case anyone comes across this, the newest version of MSCOMM32.ocx (I believe dated 3/09) still works fine as of this writing. It is older versions of MSCOMM32.ocx that do not work.

• Repeater ItemDataBound Complete Trigger

  Hi I have a Repeater and I am doing various things during the ItemDataBound event. My Repeater is in a control. What I am noticing is that the things that are supposed to happen in the ItemDataBound event happen after the Page_Load of the page hosting the control. Is there a way to use some sort of ItemDataBoundComplete trigger so I can do other things on my page after the events of the ItemDataBound have taken place? [Edit] I have controls that are being bound to the ItemDataBound and they are not available until after the Page_Load for the page hosting the control.   I want to create a GUI driven application for a micro-controller (Atmel XMEGA) that is connected to a 128x64 dots graphics LCD (EA DOGL128-6) and 4 buttons for navigation. Controlling the display itself (e.g. drawing pixels and characters) is no problem but in order to prevent me from reinventing the wheel I was googling for a GUI-Library/-Toolkit that is written in c, includes its source code, will run on a 32 MHz 8-bit micro-controller and provides at least the following controls: panel (to group elements) menu (scrollable) icon label button line-graph (optional) But I didn't find any thing useful. Does anyone know (or better uses) such a library(preferably for free)?

  I have Window that has a ListBox ListBox(MyListBox) has a DataTable for its DataContext ListBox's ItemSource is : {Binding} Listbox has a UserControl(MyUserControl) as DataTemplate UserControl has RadioButtons and TextBoxes (At first They're filled with values from DataTable and then user can change them) Window has one Submit Button What I want to do is, when user clicks the submit button For each ListBox Item, get the values form UserControl's TextBoxes and RadioButtons. But when I used much more items, I saw that "var border" gets "null" after some elements looped in foreach function. • Why does asp.net mvc form submits itself on button clicks when javascript function error?

  hi guys, i'm new to the asp.net mvc, and while working on this, i used very basic asp.net mvc stuff like beginform, etc. i used a lot of jquery codes this round for client side validation, ajax data retrieval, and other gui works. and i used a combinations of html inputs buttons, etc and the asp.net mvc type of controls. what i noticed is that whenever i click on a button control, which sometimes are tied to either jquery oclick events, when there's a javascript error, the page will just go on and submit. why is this happening and what am i missing here? my bad for the dumb questions.. thanks

  I am trying to add a flexnativemenu to my air application and I have some problems... When I set it in the windowApplication, I get null errors in child controls so I tried to set this.menu = myMainMenu (which is my flexnativemenu) in the creation complete event but the menu doesn't show up... I tried to show an alert message before setting the menu and the menu appeared in the application. Is there a method I can call to force the application to "redraw" itself in the creationComplete event??? Thanks!

• What is the equivalent to Java's canvas object in C#?

  I'm working on creating a basic application that will let a user draw (using a series of points) and I plan to do something with these points. If this were Java, I think I would probably use a canvas object and some Java2D calls to draw what I want. All the tutorials I've read on C#/Drawing involve writing your own paint method and adding it to the paint event for the form. However, I'm interested in having some traditional Form controls as well and I don't want to be drawing over them. So, is there a "Canvas" object where I can constrain what I'm drawing on? Also, is WinForms a poor choice given this use case? Would WPF have more features that would help enable me to do what I want? Or Silverlight?

• Flex Dataprovider caching issue.

  I have two combobox controls. If i change combobox A then I am reading from xml and populating combobox B. The xml is loaded into memory in Application's creationComplete method. When I select values in combobox A and then open combobox B, I am seeing the values correctly, but when I deploy it on the server in a different machine (which is in a different subdomain), then my combobox B values are not cleared and are retained by old selection, when I select the combobox B, then it is getting refreshed. I am making the dataprovider = null for combobox b, and when I am assigning new collection then i am refreshing the arraycollection as well. But still the problem is not solved.
