    I want to create ejbql connection in iReport, i have added all the related jars. Set the classpath to include the META-INF directory containing persistence.xml & jars. On testing connection it shows nothing, but in console it prints "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.hibernate.ejb.event.EJB3PersistEventListener null".   • How do I recover from an unchecked exception?

    Unchecked exceptions are alright if you want to handle every failure the same way, for example by logging it and skipping to the next request, displaying a message to the user and handling the next event, etc. If this is my use case, all I have to do is catch some general exception type at a high level in my system, and handle everything the same way. But I want to recover from specific problems, and I'm not sure the best way to approach it with unchecked exceptions. Here is a concrete example. Suppose I have a web application, built using Struts2 and Hibernate. If an exception bubbles up to my "action", I log it, and display a pretty apology to the user. But one of the functions of my web application is creating new user accounts, that require a unique user name. If a user picks a name that already exists, Hibernate throws an org.hibernate.exception.ConstraintViolationException (an unchecked exception) down in the guts of my system. I'd really like to recover from this particular problem by asking the user to choose another user name, rather than giving them the same "we logged your problem but for now you're hosed" message. Here are a few points to consider: There a lot of people creating accounts simultaneously. I don't want to lock the whole user table between a "SELECT" to see if the name exists and an "INSERT" if it doesn't. In the case of relational databases, there might be some tricks to work around this, but what I'm really interested in is the general case where pre-checking for an exception won't work because of a fundamental race condition. Same thing could apply to looking for a file on the file system, etc. Given my CTO's propensity for drive-by management induced by reading technology columns in "Inc.", I need a layer of indirection around the persistence mechanism so that I can throw out Hibernate and use Kodo, or whatever, without changing anything except the lowest layer of persistence code. As a matter of fact, there are several such layers of abstraction in my system. How can I prevent them from leaking in spite of unchecked exceptions? One of the declaimed weaknesses of checked exceptions is having to "handle" them in every call on the stack—either by declaring that a calling method throws them, or by catching them and handling them. Handling them often means wrapping them in another checked exception of a type appropriate to the level of abstraction. So, for example, in checked-exception land, a file-system–based implementation of my UserRegistry might catch IOException, while a database implementation would catch SQLException, but both would throw a UserNotFoundException that hides the underlying implementation. How do I take advantage of unchecked exceptions, sparing myself of the burden of this wrapping at each layer, without leaking implementation details?

  • Many to Many delete in NHibernate two parents with common association

    I have 3 top level entities in my app: Circuit, Issue, Document Circuits can contain Documents and Issues can contain Documents. When I delete a Circuit, I want it to delete the documents associated with it, unless it is used by something else. I would like this same behavior with Issues. I have it working when the only association is in the same table in the db, but if it is in another table, then it fails due to foreign key constraints. ex 1(This will cascade properly, because there is only a foreign constraint from Circuit to Document) Document1 exists. Circuit1 exists and contains a reference to Document1. If I delete Circuit1 then it deletes Document1 with it. ex 2(This will cascade properly, because there is only a foreign constraint from Circuit to Document.) Document1 exists. Circuit1 exists and contains a reference to Document1. Circuit2 exists and contains a reference to Document1. If I delete Circuit1 then it is deleted, but Document1 is not deleted because Circuit2 exists. If I then delete Circuit2, then Document1 is deleted. ex 3(This will throw an error, because when it deletes the Circuit it sees that there are no other circuits that reference the document so it tries to delete the document. However it should not, because there is an Issue that has a foreign constraint to the document.) Document 1 exists. Circuit1 exists and contains a reference to Document1. Issue1 exists and contains a reference to Document1. If I delete Circuit1, then it fails, because it tries to delete Document1, but Issues1 still has a reference. There are a variety of tools available to help you and Support diagnose SOA Suite issues in 11g but it can be confusing as to which tool is appropriate for a particular situation and what their relationships are. This blog post will introduce the various tools and attempt to clarify what each is for and how they are related. Let's first list the tools we'll be addressing: RDA: Remote Diagnostic Agent DFW: Diagnostic Framework Selective Tracing DMS: Dynamic Monitoring Service ODL: Oracle Diagnostic Logging ADR: Automatic Diagnostics Repository ADRCI: Automatic Diagnostics Repository Command Interpreter WLDF: WebLogic Diagnostic Framework This overview is not mean to be a comprehensive guide on using all of these tools, however, extensive reference materials are included that will provide many more details on their execution. Another point to note is that all of these tools are applicable for Fusion Middleware as a whole but specific products may or may not have implemented features to leverage them.   • Batch break up after call other batch file

    i have the problem, that my batch process breaking up each time after call a other batch file. The batch files are used to run a make process out from IBM Rhapsody. There convert the call from Rhapsody to the Visual Studio tools. So nmake will be called from the batch after make different settings. The scripts aren’t written completely from me, I only adapt theme to run under both windows architecture versions, x86 and x64. The first script (vs2005_make.bat) will be called from Rhapsody and run to the “call” statement. The second script (Vcvars_VisualStudio2005.bat) runs to the end. But the first script isn’t resume working, at this point the process break up without a error message. I'm not very familiar with batch files, this is the first time I make more than simple console commands in a batch file. So I hope I have given all information’s which needed, otherwise ask me. CPU Performance Looking for low level tools, rather than web based tools such as Nagios, Ganglia etc... n.b. I'd like to know exactly what each tool does rather than just having a list of random toolnames if possible please. Why the tool is a better option than others would be good also.

  • How do I run a non-service program as a service on Windows 2008 Server?

    I found this page that tells me how to set up Windows Live Sync as a background service on Windows 2003 Server, unfortunately the resource kit tools for 2003 that are mentioned does not work on 2008 server. http://mswhs.freeforums.org/windows-live-sync-as-a-service-on-whs-t623.html Also, apparently there is no resource kit tools downloadable for Windows 2008 Server that I can find. Perhaps someone has a link to the relevant tools? (INSTSRV.EXE and SRVANY.EXE.) Using just plain SC.EXE doesn't work as I assume that the program is then required to be a normal service, and not just any executable. What other options do I have? Can I use the task scheduler on 2008 server to start the WindowsLiveSync executable, will that work? I need the executable to stay running even after I've logged off from the server.

I have a monster %PATH% to edit (edited to save side-scrolling): C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\;C:\Program Files\PC Connectivity Solution\;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem; C:\cygwin\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bin;C:\WINDOWS \system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Utils;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\; C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\; C:\Program Files\MKVtoolnix;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\ DLLShared;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE I want the editor to put each path in a line and when I click save & close, for the editor put the lines back in the right format. Is there an editor that can do that?

  • Launch Webkit Gtk+ on ubuntu 11.10

    I am using Webkit nightly build revision 110829 on Ubuntu 11.10. I successfully build it. Here is what I did: In the Webkit directory I run: Tools/Scripts/build-webkit --gtk Built succeeded. I tried running it by typing: Tools/Scripts/run-safari --gtk But nothing happens. I mean, the command just did not show anything. Anyone has any idea? For someone who vote down: Like I said, when I run Tools/Scripts/run-safari --gtk nothing happens. So if anyone has any idea how to run it properly please tell me.   • Guestfish not found on Debian 7 when execute virt-copy-in [on hold]

    When I execute virt-copy-in command on a kvm host(Debian7.1), I got error saying "guestfish not found". However according to the dpkg comamnd, guestfish do have been installed: john@sver:~$ dpkg-query -l | grep guestfs* ii libguestfs-perl ... ii libguestfs-tools ... ii libguestfs0 ... What's the problem? Is the libguestfs-tools not the guestfish in Debian? Or it's just a broken dependency in libguestfs-tools in Debian7.1(my KVM Host)?
