  • Setting up subdomain to respond on :443 with apache2

    I read through some guides on this and I believe it is possible to have apache respond to a subdomain through ssl. I have domain.com responding on 80 and I do not need domain.com responding on 443. Rather, the only use I have for ssl is for the subdomain sub.domain.com. So my site should be http://domain.com http://www.domain.com https://sub.domain.com https://www.sub.domain.com My CNAME records are as follows sub.domain.com xxx.xx.xx.xxx *.sub.domain.com xxx.xx.xx.xxx The A record exists but should not matter for the example. This is a DNS error but I am convinced the DNS does not have a problem with the CNAME records, they just point to my IP. Am I doing something that Apache can not do?

    I have two domains hosting in two different servers: domain1.com & domain2.com I would like to forward "blog.domain1.com" to "blog2.domain2.com" which is a Wordpress blog using CNAME redirect. Before I installed Wordpress. blog.domain1.com (=redirect=) blog2.domain2.com/index.htm (working fine) The browser will keep the URL (http://blog.domain1.com) even the index.htm is on domain2.com server.     In iPhone OS 3, Apple has introduced HTTP Live Streaming which should allow live streaming of video from the internet. I am currently operating a webcam, which feeds into my server, and is then converted into a flv stream by ffmpeg, and streamed back out using ffserver. Does anyone know how to setup a video stream the iPhone can use using ffmpeg and ffserver? I should be able to re-encode into just about any format on the fly.

  • Mercurial client error 255 and HTTP error 404 when attempting to push large files to server

    Problem: When attempting to push a changeset that contains 6 large files (.exe, .dmg, etc) to my remote server my client (MacHG) is reporting the error: "Error During Push. Mercurial reported error number 255: abort: HTTP Error 404: Not Found" What does the error even mean?! The only thing unique (that I can tell) about this commit is the size, type, and filenames of the files. How can I determine which exact file within the changeset is failing? How can I delete the corrupt changeset from the repository? Someone reported using "mq" extensions, but it looks overly complicated for what I'm trying to achieve. Background: I can push and pull the following: source files, directories, .class files and a .jar file to and from the server, using both MacHG and toirtoise HG. I successfully committed to my local repository the addition for the first time the 6 large .exe, .dmg etc installer files (about 130Mb total). In the following commit to my local repository, I removed ("untracked" / forget) the 6 files causing the problem, however the previous (failing) changeset is still queued to be pushed to the server (i.e. my local host is trying to push the "add" and then the "remove" to the remote server - and keep aligned with the "keep everything in history" philosophy of the source control system). I can commit .txt .java files etc using TortoiseHG from Windows PCs. I haven't actually testing committing or pushing the same large files using TortoiseHG. Please help! Setup: Client applications = MacHG v0.9.7 (SCM 1.5.4), and TortoiseHG v1.0.4 (SCM 1.5.4) Server = HTTPS, IIS7.5, Mercurial 1.5.4, Python 2.6.5, setup using these instructions: http://www.jeremyskinner.co.uk/mercurial-on-iis7/ In IIS7.5 the CGI handler is configured to handle ALL verbs (not just GET, POST and HEAD).   • WCF - Multiple schema HTTP and HTTPS in the same service

    I am trying to set up WCF service in production. The service has two bindings with two different interfaces. One endpoint (basicHttpBinding) is set up at HTTP and the other endpoint (wsHttpBinding) is set up securely over SSL. I can't get this scenario to work. Everything works with no problem if both endpoints are set up over HTTP. Before I even get into the specifics of errors I get, is is possible to run secure and insecure endpoint over the same service ?   • Http Modules are called on every request when using mvc/routing module

    I am developing a http module that hooks into the FormsAuthentication Module through the Authenticate event. While debugging i noticed that the module (and all other modules registered) gets hit every single time the client requests a resource (also when it requests images, stylesheets, javascript files (etc.)). This happens both when running on a IIS 7 server in integrated pipeline mode, and debugging through the webdev server (in non- integrated pipeline mode) As i am developing a website with a lot images which usually wont be cached by the client browser it will hit the modules a lot of unnessecary times. I am using MVC and its routing mechanishm (System.Web.Routing.UrlRoutingModule). When creating a new website the runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests attribute for the IIS 7 (system.webServer) section is per default set to true in the web.config, which as the name indicates make it call all modules for every single request. If i set the runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests attribute to false, no modules will get called. It seems that the reason for this is because of the routing module or mvc (dont know excactly why), which causes that the asp.net (aspx) handler never gets called and therefore the events and the modules never gets called (one time only like supposed). I tested this by trying to call "mydomain.com/Default.aspx" instead of just "mydomain.com/" and correctly it calls the modules only once like it is supposed. How do i fix this so it only calls the modules once when the page is requested and not also when all other resources are requested ? Is there some way i can register that all requests should fire the asp.net (aspx) handler, except requests for specific filetype extensions ? Of course that wont fix the problem if i choose to go with urls like /content/images/myimage123 for the images (without the extension). But i cant think of any other way to fix it. Is there a better way to solve this problem ? I have tried to set up an ignoreRoute like this routes.IgnoreRoute("content/{*pathInfo}"); where the content folder contains all the images, javascripts and stylesheets in seperat subfolders, but it doesnt seem to change anything. I can see there a many different possibilites when setting up a handler but I cant seem to figure out how it should be possible to setup one that will make it possible to use the routing module and have urls like /blog/post123 and not call the modules when requesting images, javascripts and stylesheets (etc.). Hope anyone out there can help me ? Martin

I'm using msxml2.ServerXMLHTTP to programatically make the post I've tried with several configurations in the IIS 5.1 site, but there's no way I can make IIS run with a specified account... I made a little asp page that runs whoami to verify what account the iis process i using... with IIS 5.1, using integrated security the process uses: my_machine\IWAM_my_machine I disable integrated security, and leave a domain account as anonymous access, and I get the same (¿?) to test the user I do the following private function whoami() dim shell, cmd set shell = createObject("wscript.shell") set cmd = shell.exec( server.mapPath( "whoami.exe" ) ) whoami = cmd.stdOut.readAll() set shell = nothing: set cmd = nothing end function is it because I'm issuing a shell command? I'd like to make http post calls, to another site that works with integrated security... So I need some way to pass the credentials, or at least to run with a specified account, and then configure the remote site to thrust that account... I thought that just setting the site to work with integrated security would be enough...
