• Grub Setup(hd0) Error Cannot mount selected partition

  I have created a NTFS Partition(/dev/sda3) and copy the grub files in it in the following path: /dev/sda3/boot/grub/ then tried to install the grub by using following commands: grub root (hd0,2) Filesystem unknown, partition type 0x7 grub setup (hd0) Error : cannot mount selected partition The partition is present and i created it with gparted. i also tried the following command: find (hd0,2)/boot/grub/stage1 Error 15: File not found All the files were there as copied them. So, where is the problem and what i am doing wrong?

• Rails 2 and Ngnix: https pages can't load css or js (but will load graphics)

  ADMISSION: i've posted this same question on stackoverflow, before realising it's probabaly better suited to superuser, but it kind of depends on the answer: If it turns out to be a problem in my nginx config, it's definitely superuser. If it turns out to be a problem in my Rails config (or code) then it's arguably stackoverflow. I'm adding some https pages to my rails site. In order to test it locally, i'm running my site under one mongrel_rails instance (on 3000) and nginx. I've managed to get my nginx config to the point where i can actually go to the https pages, and they load. Except, the javascript and css files all fail to load: looking in the Network tab in chrome web tools, i can see that it is trying to load them via an https url. Eg, one of the non-working file urls is https://cmw-local.co.uk/stylesheets/cmw-logged-out.css?1383759216 I have these set up (or at least think i do) in my nginx config to redirect to the http versions of the static files. This seems to be working for graphics, but not for css and js files. If i click on this in the Network tab, it takes me to the above url, which redirects to the http version. So, the redirect seems to be working in some sense, but not when they're loaded by an https page. Like i say, i thought i had this covered in the second try_files directive in my config below, but maybe not.   I would like to know how to load balance two Business DLS links which have fixed IPs. • LVM Extend... not sure the filesystem

  I would like to extend my LVM partition. First I did lvextend -L +100G /dev/server/home Now I still have to extend the filesystem. The tutorials tell me to use resize2fs, but that only works for ext2 and ext3. I'm not even sure what filesystem I have... fdisk /dev/server/home/ doesn't work... how do I know what kind of filesystem I have on my lvm partition?

• Running resize2fs on /

  I'm trying to resize an ext4 filesystem on a Fedora 11 box. Using fsdisk and lvm, I was able to grow the partition and logical volume containing the filesystem. When I try to run resize2fs on the device containing the filesystem (/dev/sda2 in this case), I get: "Device or resource busy while trying to open /dev/sda2, Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock" I've tried this from a rescue disk that doesn't have the filesystem mounted, no joy. Maybe resize2fs doesn't know about ext4?

• Did I lose my RAID again?

  Hi! A little history: 2 years ago I was really excited to find out that mdadm is so powerful that it even can reshape arrays, so you can start with a smaller array and then grow it as you need. I've bought 3x1Tb drives and made a RAID-5. It was fine for a year. Then I bought 2x more, and tried to reshape to RAID-6 out of 5 drives, and due to some mess with superblock versions, lost all content. Had to rebuild it from scratch, but 2Tb of data were gone. Yesterday I bought 2 more drives, and this time I had everything: properly built array, UPS. I've disabled write intent map, added 2 new drives as spares and run a command to grow array to 7-disks. It started working, but speed was ridiculously slow, ~100kb/sec. After processing first 37Mb at such an amazing speed, one of old HDDs fails. I properly shutdown the PC and disconnected the failed drive. After bootup it appeared that it recreated the intent map as it was still in mdadm config, so I removed it from config and rebooted again. Now all I see is that all mdadm processes deadlock, and don't do anything. • WPF MVVM Trigger Animation on MainWindow close

  I'm using trying to implement MVVM in my app. I have a MainWindow.xaml and a MainWindowViewModel. I'm in the process of removing all of the code-behind code from the MainWindow.xaml but I'm stuck on one final piece. In my pre-MVVM setup I started an animation in the MainWindow.xaml.cs that would fade out the form before closing it. Since Closing is not a RoutedEvent, I had to use code-behind to get this to work. My VM has the following two properties that can be bound: ClosingWindow and CloseWindow. My goal was to bind a DataTrigger in my MainWindowStyle to the ClosingWindow property of the VM. When ClosingWindow was set to True, it would start an animation using the following XAML: <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding ClosingWindow}" Value="True"> <DataTrigger.EnterActions> <BeginStoryboard> <Storyboard> <DoubleAnimation Storyboard.TargetProperty="Opacity" From="1" To="0" Duration="0:0:2"/> </Storyboard> </BeginStoryboard> </DataTrigger.EnterActions> </DataTrigger> Somehow (insert magic here) I was going to set CloseWindow on the VM, via Binding, to True when the animation completed, which would then use an AttachedBehavior to Close the Window. The AttachedBehavior works perfectly when I just set CloseWindow directly using the following XAML: <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding CloseWindow}" Value="True"> <Setter Property="ab:WindowCloseBehavior.Close" Value="True"/> </DataTrigger> ...but I want to reproduce the form fade before the form actually closes. So there are two issues that I've run into: First, the animation doesn't work. I enter the trigger correctly (I've taken out the animation and put a Setter statement in there that changes the Title of the MainWindow to "Closing" and it changes correctly when ClosingWindow = True) but the DoubleAnimation never does anything. Second, there's no way to set the value of CloseWindow once the animation is complete. I looked at Marlon Grech's animation code but that won't work on DataTriggers. I can't publish a RoutedEvent because my VM doesn't descend from UIElement, and I've been Googling all day trying to come up with a clever, MVVM-friendly way to do this with no luck. So any ideas why that animation doesn't do anything? And more importantly, how would you solve the entire problem of animating a form fade on close from the VM? I don't doubt that my entire solution to this problem might be whacked so I'm open to just about anything.

  I am working with the following block of code ... List<ThemeObject> themeList = (from theme in database.Themes join image in database.DBImages on theme.imageID equals image.imageID into resultSet from item in resultSet select new ThemeObject { Name = theme.Name, ImageID = item.imageID}).ToList(); dgvGridView.DataSource = themeList; dgvGridView.DataBind(); The list object populates fine. The datagrid is setup with 2 columns. A textbox column for the "Name" which is bound to "Name" An image column which is bound to the "ImageID" field When I execute the code I receive the following error on the DataBind() Could not determine a MetaTable. A MetaTable could not be determined for the data source '' and one could not be inferred from the request URL. Make sure that the table is mapped to the dats source, or that the data source is configured with a valid context type and table name, or that the request is part of a registered DynamicDataRoute. I'm not using any dynamicdataroutes as far as I can tell. Has anyone experienced this error before?

• How do I get Lucene (.NET) to highlight correctly with wildcards?

  I am using the Lucene.NET API directly in my ASP.NET/C# web application. When I search using a wildcard, like "fuc*", the highlighter doesn't highlight anything, but when I search for the whole word, like "fuchsia", it highlights fine. Does Lucene have the ability to highlight using the same logic it used to match with? • Need help understanding WPF MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride infinity and 0 sizes

  I'm trying to build a simple panel that contains one child and will snap it to nearest grid sizes. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do this by overriding MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride. Here's what I'm after: I want my panel to tell its owner that (a) it wants to be as large as possible, then (b) when it finds out what that size is, it will size itself and its child UIElement according to the nearest smaller snap point. So if we're snapping to 10's, and I can be in a region no bigger than 192x184, the panel will tell its parent container "my actual size is going to be 190x180". That way anything bordering my control will be able to align to its edges, as opposed to the potential space. When I put my panel inside of a Grid, I get either 0 or PositiveInfinity (I forget) for the incoming size in the overrides, but what I need to know is "how big can my space actually get?" not infinities.. Part of the problem I think is what WPF considers magic values of PositiveInfinity and 0 for size. I need a way to say, via MeasureOverride "I can be as big as you will allow me" and in ArrangeOverride to actually size to the snapped size. Or am I going about this the completely wrong way? Measuring and arranging looks very complicated, just from wandering around a little in the code for the standard panels in Reflector.

  I have a c# web browser and one of the pages it displays has a form. When the form is submitted it posts data to a new window in IE. I want to catch that data and forward it to another C# web browser that I have in my application. So I don't want it to open an IE browser when the javascript function window.open is called, I want it to open it in the 2nd browser window.

• LoaderLock was detected, and turning off the warning does not help

  I am trying to write an application that takes in sound from the default audio recording device on a computer. When running any code that accesses DirectX from my managed code i get this error: DLL 'C:\Windows\assembly\GAC\Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound\1.0.2902.0__31bf3856ad364e35\Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound.dll' is attempting managed execution inside OS Loader lock. Do not attempt to run managed code inside a DllMain or image initialization function since doing so can cause the application to hang. DevicesCollection coll = new DevicesCollection(); and Device d = new Device(DSoundHelper.DefaultCaptureDevice); and Capture c = new Capture(DSoundHelper.DefaultCaptureDevice); all cause the LoaderLock MDA to pop up and tell me there is a problem. I have scoured the internet (stackoverflow included) for solutions to this problem, but most people just say to turn off the warning, which does not work. When I turn off the warning, a generic ApplicationException is thrown, which is even less useful. I have seen the answers to this question as well, which didn't help because he said to remove the code that is causing the error. Others have said "fix your code." My questions are: how can I call any (preferably managed) DirectX code from C# without getting this error?
