  • Will a standard CMS on a shared web hosting account work for this?

    I have two questions concerning CMS's that I need answered if possible: I need to create a site with a Database. This site will in due time have lots of traffic and many users if things go as planned. Is it better to have the CMS on a shared web hosting account or is it better to have a dedicated server for this? The site I want to create needs to be able to create groups where each group has its own admin. The admin of the group decides the content that each member can view/access. The information of one group can be shared to other groups as well. This means that only the information content is shared but not the group's member data. Should I use a single or multiple databases for this problem? Is this something that can be done using standard CMS systems out there. or should I try to build one myself?

  • Is it possible to get the matched regex from within the apache LocationMatch directive?

    I'm wondering if the following code should be working: <LocationMatch "/(.*)([/])?(.*)"> Order allow,deny Allow from all AuthType Basic AuthName "Git" AuthUserFile /git/.htpasswd AuthGroupFile /git/.htgroup Require group $1 </LocationMatch> What I am trying to achieve with this is to require a group based on the first regex variable. So if the user goes to http://localhost/a-repository-name he has to be in the group a-repository-name to be able to open the url. For some reason I can't get this code working and apache returns: Authorization of user **** to access /a-repository-name failed, reason: user is not part of the 'require'ed group(s). I guess it's not matching against the proper variable at Require group $1. Is this the right way to be done or I'm missing something?

    I made a module prototype for building complex timer schedules in python. The classe prototypes permit to have Timer objects, each with their waiting times, Repeat objects that group Timer and other Repeat objects, and a Schedule class, just for holding a whole construction or Timers and Repeat instances. The construction can be as complex as needed and needs to be flexible. Each of these three classes has a .run() method, permitting to go through the whole schedule. Whatever the Class, the .run() method either runs a timer, a repeat group for a certain number of iterations, or a schedule. Is this polymorphism-oriented approach sound or silly? What are other appropriate approaches I should consider to build such a versatile utility that permits to put all building blocks together in as complex a way as desired with simplicity? Thanks!     Ok the thing is that I am using asp.net mvc with linq to sql. I have a scenario where there are two tables group and features with many to many relationship with the third table groupfeatures. I have drag and drop all three table in the dbml file.     Is there a way to use the HAVING clause in some other way without using group by. I am using rails and following is a sample sccenario of the problem that i am facing. In rails you can use the Model.find(:all,:select,conditions,:group) function to get data. In this query i can specify a having clause in the :group param. But what if i dont have a group by clause but want to have a having clause in the result set. Ex: Lets take a query select sum(x) as a,b,c from y where "some_conditions" group by b,c; This query has a sum() aggregation on one of the fields. No if there is nothing to aggregate then my result should be an empty set. But mysql return a NULL row. So this problem can be solved by using select sum(x) as a,b from y where "some_conditions" group by b having a NOT NULL; but what happens in case i dont have a group by clause?? a query like below select sum(x) as a,b from y where "some_conditions"; so how to specify that sum(x) should not be NULL? Any solution that would return an empty set in this case instead of a NULL row will help and also that solution should be doable in rails. We can use subqueries to get this condition working with sumthin like this select * from ((select sum(x) as b FROM y where "some_condition") as subq) where subq.b is not null; but is there a better way to do this thru sql/rails ??

Formally I had Userinfo table with UserID, Username and ParentID to build a recursion and populated tree to represent hierarchy but now I have following criteria which I need to develop. I have now USERS, ADMINISTRATORS and GROUPS. Each node in the user hierarchy is either a user, administrator or group. User Someone who has login access to my application Administrator A user who may also manage all their child user accounts (and their children etc) This may include creating new users and assigning permissions to those users. There is no limit to the number of administrators in user structure. The higher up in the hierarchy that I go administrators have more child accounts to manage which include other child administrators. Group A user account can be designated as a group. This will be an account which is used to group one or more users together so that they can be manage as a unit. But no one can login to my application using a group account. This is how I want to create structure Super Administrator administrator ------------------------------------------------------------- | | | Manager A Manager B Manager C (adminstrator) (administrator) (administrator) | ----------------------------------------- | | | Employee A Employee B Sales Employees (User) (User) (Group) | ------------------------ | | | Emp C Emp D Emp E (User) (User) (User) Now how to build the table structure to achieve this.     I'm using a Collection View Source to group my data. In my data, I have Property1 and Property2 that I'm needing to group on. The only stipulation is that I don't want sub-groups of another group. So, when I group by these two properties, I don't want to have it so that Property2 because a subgroup of Property1's group.   • Is there a way to automatically load navigational property using the .NET Entity Framework?

    Stepping away more and more from writing SQL for my applications, I decided to give the Entity Framework a try. However, I've run into something I believe is causing me to write more code than I think is strictly necessary. When I accessed some navigational properties, I discovered that all many-to-one relations (simple references) were null and all one-to-many and many-to-many relations (EntityCollections) were empty. For example: I have a User with a reference to a Group. When I have retieved a User, by using a simple select-by-id, the Group property is null. If I want to access the Group I have to manually load it (using User.GroupReference.Load()). So I added a GetGroup() method in User which checks whether the Group is loaded already and, if not, does so and then returns the Group. Now this will result in a lot of highly similar methods for all navigational properties. And it all results in the navigational properties not being used, only my custom-made Get"PropertyName"() method's are now being used. I don't want to expand my queries (linq to entities) to immediately load all these properties, because it's not always known at first what is needed. And besides, it would cause a lot of queries to have to be made. Is there a way to configure the Entity Framework to load these objects when they happen to not be present? So when I access User.Group and the group is not loaded yet, it is loaded automatically? Or am I stuck using my own Get"PropertyName"() method's as long as I'm trying to load objects only on demand (or "just-in-time")? Some extra info: I'm using VS2008 SP1 with .NET 3.5 SP1. The Entity Framework I'm using is the one that got shipped with it.

    Note: Updated 2/12/11 with links to both presentation materials.     This past week I presented two sessions at SPTechCon San Francisco 2011.  The first session was “The Expanding Developer Toolbox for SharePoint 2010” which .  Thanks to all of my attendees for this session.  They had so many great questions that we ran out of time before covering all of the planned material.  Especially for them I’ve provided the slides and code samples to walk through them on their own.     The second session was “Real World Deployment of SharePoint 2007 Solutions”.  In talking with attendees before the session many were looking for 2007 content.  At the conference SharePoint 2010 was represented much more heavily than 2007, so I was glad to fill a need in the community. Conclusion     This is the 3rd SPTechCon I’ve attended and the conference is getting better with each iteration.  The fine folks at BZ Media should be proud of the effort they’ve put in.  The next SPTechCon will be in Boston in June.  As of right now I won’t be attending that one but I highly recommend anyone to go if you have the chance.         -Frog Out

  • How do I get spring to inject my EntityManager?

    I'm following the guide here, but when the DAO executes, the EntityManager is null. I've tried a number of fixes I found in the comments on the guide, on various forums, and here (including this), to no avail. No matter what I seem to do the EntityManager remains null.   • Problems with ipsec betwen Cisco ASA 5505 and Juniper ssg5

    I am trying to set up an ipsec tunnel between our ASA 5505 and a Juniper ssg5. The tunnel is up and running, but I cannot get any data through it. The local network I am on is 172.16.1.0 and the remote is 192.168.70.0. But I cannot ping anything on their netowork. I receive a "Phase 2 OK" when I set up the ipsec. I think this is the part of the config that is applicable.     Currently, I have a LDAP server (running ClearOS if that makes any difference) containing a database of users. So, I went and setup LDAP on a couple of my debian VMs, using libpam-ldapd and I discovered this odd problem.   • OS X AFP shares and access

    I am running 10.5.6 Client as a mini server and am having problems with AFP shares. All clients are OS X 10.5.7 I have created three users for 'File Sharing' only on the 'server'. I have created groups and placed these users into specific groups. I have created ACL's to give each group access to certain shares. Two of those users can read and write to any share, one user cannot write to the shares, with different results: when copying a directory, only the directory is created, no files inside are copied, the OS does not give any errors when copying a single file I get three dialogs: "You may need to enter the name and password for an administrator on this computer to change the item named 'xxxx', "The item 'xxxxx' contains one or more items you do not have permission to read. Do you want to copy the items you are allowed to read?, and, The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient priveleges for some of the items. With the single file, a file gets created on the server, but is empty. My ACL for the group this user belongs to is: 0: group:projectmembers allow list,add_file,search,delete,add_subdirectory,delete_child,readattr,writeattr,readextattr,writeextattr,readsecurity,file_inherit,directory_inherit 1: group:informationtechnology inherited allow list,add_file,search,delete,add_subdirectory,delete_child,readattr,writeattr,readextattr,writeextattr,readsecurity,file_inherit,directory_inherit 2: group:executive inherited allow list,add_file,search,delete,add_subdirectory,delete_child,readattr,writeattr,readextattr,writeextattr,readsecurity,file_inherit,directory_inherit 3: group:everyone inherited deny list,add_file,search,delete,add_subdirectory,delete_child,readattr,writeattr,readextattr,writeextattr,readsecurity,file_inherit,directory_inherit User 1 & 2 belong to informationtechnology and executive and projectmembers, they can read and write freely on the share. User 3 belongs to projectmembers and cannot read and write freely. I have read that this is a UID issue, however User 1 & 2 do not have matching UID's across clients and server and they work, so I don't think this is the case. Any ideas?

  • FTP User cannot modify files but has correct permissions

    I have created a new user (foo) and when he logs in via ftp he cannot edit the files in the directory to which he has access. In the directory he can log into ls -l gives me: -rw-rw-r-- 1 root www-pub 6427 Nov 17 04:21 index.html The user belongs to the group www-pub. Here is the output of cat /etc/group to demonstrate that he is indeed in that group: ... www-pub:x:1001:ftpuser,www-data,foo foo:x:1002: *edit the permissions on the containing directory are: drwxrwsr-x 5 root www-pub 4096 Nov 17 02:53 thecontainingdir and the one above that: drwxrwsr-x 49 root www-pub 4096 Nov 16 02:40 thenextdirup So since he can log in via ftp and since the file he needs to edit has the correct permissions to let the group www-pub read and write the file and he is a member of that group, why can't he edit it (or upload anything)? Only when I change the file to 777 can he edit it. It's as if he's NOT in the group... but he is! What's going on?

    For upgrading Redmine from 1.0.1 to 2.1.2, I need to execute the command: rake db:migrate RAILS_ENV=production However, doing so produces the following error: rake aborted! Please install the mysql2 adapter: gem install activerecord-mysql2-adapter (mysql2 is not part of the bundle. Add it to Gemfile.) I have ran gem install activerecord-mysql2-adapter, but I still get the same error when I try to run the rake ... command.   • Network Misconfiguration when adding first host to new vSphere cluster

    I am building a new vSphere cluster from scratch. I have installed ESXi on the first host, and built a vCenter server on a VM residing on that host (storage is on the local hard drive, although we have iSCSI targets which I can reach from the host). The cluster is configured for HA. When I try and add the host to the cluster, I get an error at the point where HA is configured - Cannot complete the . I have stripped the network configuration of the host down to the most basic - a single NIC attached to a single vSwitch - this is running the VMKernel Port on VLAN 8 - that is our Management VLAN. The vCenter server will have a network address on this VLAN, so I also set the initial Virtual Machine Port Group to this VLAN, and connected the vCenter server NIC to this port group. I understand I can't connect the vCenter server to the VMkernel port group, but shouldn't I be able to connect the vCenter server to a Port Group in the same VLAN? If not, do I need to create a VLAN specifically for VMKernel Port Group? I plan to set up another port group for vMotion with a dedicated and isolated VLAN (i.e. VLAN isn't routed) so this wouldn't allow vCenter to communicate. Does anyone have any suggestions, or other ideas for what might be causing the problem. I've read through the documentation, but it isn't giving me any pointers, and the error message isn't helping me beyond telling me something is wrong with my network config.

I want to ignore the .git directory (which I understand is default behavior for ack). On that note, how can I ignore certain directories? I am using ack 1.9.6 on Mac OSX 10.8.2.
