    at the moment im loading xml and i am getting error: System.Xml.XmlException: ' ', hexadecimal value 0x17, is an invalid character. Line 2762, position 16. it is easy to fix. just open xml and remove the character. but I need to know is it possible to load xml even with invalid characters and use it for parsing. and is there any downside?

    I have a WPF application in which I have a hook at PreviewTextInput, through that I get the currently entered character and I have the string already entered. Given this I need to write the following function : bool ShouldAccept(char newChar,string existingText) existingText can be comma seperated valid numbers(including exponential) and it should just return false when invalid characters are pressed. My code(if else based) currently has a lot of flaws, I wanted to know if there is any smart way to do it.

    I want all css, javascript, and image file requests, that are named like this "filename.12345.css" to be re-routed to "filename.css". The ".12345" part will always be numbers and the length can be anywhere from 11 - 15 characters. This directive seems to work OK but I want to make sure there is no error in my logic. I generally use CType (and CInt, CBool, CStr) for casts because it is less characters and was the first way of casting which I was exposed to, but I am aware of DirectCast and TryCast as well. Simply, are there any differences (effect of cast, performance, etc.) between DirectCast and CType? I understand the idea of TryCast.

    I have a file UTF-8 encoding in windows, and when i use it under windows it shows everithing right, but when i copy the file in Linux, the Unicode characters are giberish.   • Why Windows Live Spaces Fetch Image Through HTTPS?

    I happens to find that, when a live space page is loaded, inline images are fetched by https protocol instead of http protocol. This doesn't make sense. The text part of live space is not fetched by https, why images are fetched with https? I bet the https way to fetch image just make the page loaded slower. Is there any special advantage to choose https over http in this case?

    Is there a way to "declare" a variable with a particular user-defined type in MATLAB? zeros() only works for built-in numeric types. The only solution I've come up with involves using repmat() to duplicate a dummy object zero times: arr = repmat(myClass(), [1 0]) Without declaring variables this way, any code which does "arr(end+1) = myClass()" has to include a special case for the default empty matrix which is of type double. Have I missed something a little more sensible?

Given the unique number how can i open or copy this file? for example: I have been given the number '7656875' and nothing more. I need to interact with a file called '\server\7656800\7656875 foobar 2x4'. how can i achieve this using PHP?
