    Using Solaris I have a monitoring script that uses other scripts as plugins. Theses pugins are also scripts which work in difffernt ways like: 1. Sending an alert while high memory uilization 2. High Cpu usage 3. Full disk Space 4. chekcking the core file dump Now all this is dispalyed on my terminal and I want to put them in a HTML file/format and send it as a body of the mail not as attachment. Thanks .

  • Uses of Erlang in Telecom

    I'm a web developer and a college student majoring in telecommunications. This means I'm decent at programming and I know a little about telecom networks (at a high, non-technical level). I keep reading that Erlang is used all over the telecom industry (supposedly for its performance). I'm wondering if there's anyway I can combine my programming skills with my telecommunications major with Erlang. Is most of the Erlang/telecom stuff closed source? Are there any open source telecom projects written Erlang? UPDATE: sipwiz's comment makes me think in terms of a question larger than "uses of Erlang". How can I leverage a high-level understanding of telecom networks and the telecom regulatory environment with programming. I hope this hasn't veered too off-topic for SO.

    Almost all of use have heard of Ted Stevens trying to describe the Internet with the analogy that it is a series of tubes (mp3). I believe that it likely that some tech person somewhere tried to describe the Internet to him and this was the best analogy they could come up with. What analogy would you use to describe the Internet, and issues related to bandwidth, latency, etc, to your grandmother or someone else with no IT experience.

  • PHP and Django: Nginx, FastCGI and Green Unicorn?

    I'm curious... I'm looking to have a really efficient setup for my slice for a client. I'm not an expert with servers and so am looking for good solid resources to help me set this up... It's been recommended to me that using FastCGI for PHP, Green Unicorn (gunicorn) for Django and Nginx for media is a good combination to have PHP and Django running on the same slice/server. This is needed due to have a main Django website and admin, but also to have a PHP forum on there too. Could anyone push me to some useful resources that would help me set this up on my slice? Or at least, any views or comments on this particular setup?

  • IEEE 1394 Firewire Card is not visible in Device Manager in WIndows 7

    I have a IEEE 1394 card that I have placed in one of the PCI slots of my Windows 7 PC. I have moved to Windows just last week and Windows is not detecting this card. It is not listed in the Devide Manager. Earlier when I used Fedora 12, I was able to use this interface for capturing videos from my DV Camera. The manufacturer is Tech-Com, which has not provided a driver CD for this. What can I possibly try?

  • Delphi 7 compile error - “Duplicate resource(s)” between .res and .dfm

Duplicate resource(s): [Error] Type 10 (RCDATA), ID TFMMAINTQUOTE: [Error] File P:\[PATH SNIPPED]\Manufacturing.RES resource kept; file FMaintQuote.DFM resource discarded. Manufacturing.res is the default resource file (application is called Manufacturing.exe), and FMainQuote is one of the forms. .dfm files are plain text files, so I'm not sure what resources is being duplicated, how to find it and fix it? If I tried to compile the project again, it works OK, but the exe's icon is different to the one I've set in Project Options using the "Load Icon" button. The icon on the app is some sort of bell image that I don't recognize.

    I am writing an application in C# that makes use of a 3rd party COM DLL, this dll creates a lot of resources (like bitmaps, video, data structures) in unmanaged memory. While digging around I came across the following call for the Garbage Collector: GC.AddMemoryPressure(long long bytesAllocated) It is documented in MSDN here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.gc.addmemorypressure.aspx This sounds like something I should be calling since this external dll is createing a lot of resources the CLR is unaware of. I guess I have two questions... How do I know how much memory pressure to add when the dll is 3rd party and it's not possible for me to know exactly how much memory this dll is allocating. How important is it to do this?

    I've created a PreferenceActivity that allows the user to choose the theme he wants to apply to the entire application. When the users selects a theme, this code is executed: if (...) { getApplication().setTheme(R.style.BlackTheme); } else { getApplication().setTheme(R.style.LightTheme); } But, despite I've checked with the debugger that the code is being executed, I can't see any change in the user interface.   • JW Player - How can I add an event listener for fullscreen toggling?

    I'm using JW Player 4.5 on my site and I need to add an event listener for when fullscreen is toggled. The reason for this is to switch between a low-def version and high-def version. The default video will be the low-def version and when they switch to a fullscreen display, it will change to the high-def version. According to http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/wiki/Player5Events, the ViewEvent.JWPLAYER_VIEW_FULLSCREEN1 event can only be called from Actionscript. I need it to be from Javascript... Is there any way to achieve this? Can you recommend a better solution?

  • Localize node texts in treeview using resource files

    For a project I need a tree view that allows the user to select a module, which then is displayed in a content area. The project relies heavily on localization and this is provided by the resource files. Now I discovered today, that the text that are assigned to preset tree view nodes are not contained in the resource files. So the question is whether there is a way of doing this, short of mapping the elemenst in code. I.e. assigning a name to the node, running over all nodes and pulling the resources from the resouce manager based on the node name.   • How to Add a File from my source tree to Maven Site

    I have a Maven 2 RESTful application using Jersey/JAXB. I generate the JAXB beans from a schema file, where the schema file is in my resources directory, e.g., src/main/resources/foo.xsd. I want to include foo.xsd file in the generated Maven site for my project, so that clients can see the XML schema when writing RESTful calls. How can I include foo.xsd in the site? I could have a copy of the file in src/main/site/..., and then update my site.xml to point to it (or have a .apt whose contents point to it), but I don't like that because I'm still tweaking foo.xsd, and don't want to have to remember to copy it each time I update it. And that's just bad practice. I also tried having a .apt file that has a link to the foo.xsd which gets copied to the target/classes directory. That works until I do a site:deploy, because that only copies the target/site directory. Thanks, Charles

  • How to ignore/prevent javadoc folder from validation during Eclipse Build?

    In my war is a huge javadoc folder. There is no point in validating it since javadocs are produced by Sun(Oracle) javadoc utility. I have forgotten how I did it the last time. I need to tell Eclipse build not to validate that particular folder. Reasons why I need it: 1. the html produced by Sun javadoc generation utility does not meet the requirement that Eclipse uses - there is a bug report in Eclipse but Eclipse responds that Sun javadoc generator non-compliance is not their fault and that Eclipse intends to stick to their strict compliance. Which results in lots of html errors listed in the problems tab. 2. the javadoc folder is a remote link and high activity on that link is using up my cpu resource, and because it is a link to a remote location, that cpu high activity is sustained for long time until it finishes scanning the whole 35MB javadocs. But it is not copying compiled javascript files ("module1" and "module2" directories present in target) to war directory. I want to get newly compiled javascript files in war directory.     I'd like to develop a portal similar to what a company like OneLogin (http://www.onelogin.com/) has: The user would login with their login credentials then have links to the web resources that their account is associated with. When they see their resources all they need to do is click on them and they'll be automatically login in (SAML authentication). Are there any open source projects out there that have started on this effort?   • Visual Studio's CSS Intellisense - Absolute paths & MasterPage files

    Hi there. I've noticed that to get CSS-Intellisense working in VS, the paths have to be relative - Is this the case? However, it seems <link href="/resources/test.css" [...] /> is far more practical than <link href="resources/test.css" [...] /> I'm including the CSS in the master page, and don't see much good in including it as a content block, just to get the relative paths correct for each directory depth. I've had a quick try with inline code resolving the path, but no dice there either (for Intellisense). I feel I'm missing something fairly simple - What's the correct approach here to have CSS Intellisense work across the pages in the app during dev, and render fine in any deployed state? Cheers.   • Why would Silverlight be crashing in Release but not in Debug mode?

    I have a Silverlight App that has worked well in Debug and Release modes for weeks. It still works well in Debug mode. However, now when I run it in Release mode, it starts, shows me the screen, loads the data, then hangs, and the browser (Firefox) closes automatically. I've tried other browsers and each of them crashes, Chrome says "The Silverlight Plug-In has crashed" for instance.
