  I am trying out Ubuntu 11.04 on a netbook. I created a live USB to boot from using this: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ and the system boots up into Ubuntu from the USB stick, great! bad news is I am presented with a login form.... I did not set a password so I have no idea what it could be.... username: other password: I have tried no password, no luck... I'm trying to create a blacklist so I won't use any of the data associated with privacy sensitive words or short phrases. Example sensitive words or short phrases might be associated with sexual or illicit activity. I know that privacy and sensitivity are in the eye of the beholder, but I'm looking for any established list or solutions of this nature.

  I'm trying to determine the best possible schema.org type to declare for the content section in the template of a content management system, which will handle regular news posts for small, local hospitality businesses. The type should represent the content of that page, which is likely to be a wide range of things. The description for Article pretty strongly encourages its use to be limited to the articles of a publication. For purely semantic reasons, I'm not sure if Blog is appropriate in this case -- businesses won't be creating typical "blog" content but are more likely to be writing about upcoming events, special deals, awards, etc. Would Webpage be appropriate in this instance? Although I'm a fan of the schema.org concept, I frequently find myself unsure how broadly or narrowly I'm meant to infer the meaning of a type. In such cases, is it safe to use a high-level element, such as CreativeWork, or does this blunt the usefulness of the markup?

  One of my friend accidentally deleted gnome-panel top panel. First I tried to restore using gnome-panel --replace but did not succeeded then I re-install gnome-panel after a clean uninstall but results are same. He is using Ubuntu 13.04 (Gnome Classic fallback (No effects)). I saw few old solutions for similar problems, mostly for 10.04, but those stuffs are of no help. I want to get back the whole panel as it was with all icons and indicators.

  Good news for our Telco ISV partners who want to leverage virtualization technologies such as SDN and NFV: We just announced that Solaris 11.2 will integrate OpenDaylight SDN, and that Oracle will join the OpenDaylight project as a Silver member. The integration will allow customers to improve service quality and take advantage of apps-to-disk SLAs through compatibility with a wide range of SDN devices, applications and services. It will also allow them to use a common and open SDN platform with OpenStack to manage Oracle Solaris-based clouds. The OpenDaylight Project is a community-led and industry-supported open source platform to advance SDN and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).

• Ad networks that will serve via HTTPS?

  I've built a website with 160K page views per month that serves every page over HTTPS. The recent FireSheep news will probably increase the adoption of "HTTPS everywhere" but it's been very hard to find ad networks and affiliates that will serve their content via HTTPS. I don't want to use these because I don't want my visitors to get "broken security" notification from their browsers (and of course, relevant ads would be a leak of private information). I'm tired of spending a ton of time signing up with ad networks and affiliates only to find out down the road that they don't support HTTPS (e.g. AdSense). Can anyone suggest any options or provide a pointer to a list of these somewhere?

  Let's say I'm tracking a conversion like the following: View product > Customize > Finish order When I push the the above events, I also push a product ID and name attached to it, hoping that I could segment by that, but I can't figure out how. Now, I've run this beforehand: sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r) and the folder named linux-headers-3.13.0-24-generic exists already in /usr/src Any solutions? • Problems after upgrading from 10.04 to 12.04

  I upgraded to 12.04.1 from 10.04 recently and am running the Gnome Classic (no effects) desktop. I spent a couple of days tweaking the appearance and behaviour but there are two issues that I can't resolve. The mouse cursor frequently disappears, especially when scrolling through web pages or hovering over links/icons with tooltips. Moving the mouse brings the pointer back but it vanishes again almost immediately. Note I don't have unclutter or Parallels installed. The screen no longer fades to black when left idle for too long - it just cuts out. Bad news when watching content online. Any tips greatly appreciated. Cheers...
