    Hi guys, I'm creating a On-Screen keyboard for my application, and it supports skins as well. Here's what I'm doing with the skins, I have a folder which contains some images and a xml file which maps the images to the keyboard, I want to be able to have the folder as a zip file like in Office 2007 (.docx) and iPhone firmwares (.ipsw), I know I can simply zip the folder and change the extension, what I need to know is how to read the files in the code.   • Can we turn on the iphone's number keyboard WITHOUT using type=number?

    I'm making a webapp, and I'd like an input field to show the Iphone's number keypad. I understand that type=number will make the keypad show the way I'd like. The trouble is that type=number does not support placeholder text. So if I would like this: Expiration Date: [eg: 2010] I can not get it to work, and also show the right keyboard. Is there a way to force the iphone keyboard into number mode without using the number input type?

  • What could cause a huge packet loss in Ubuntu 9.10, for both wired and wireless?

    I was previously using 9.04 fine (and in fact, I am posting this from my old 9.04 live cd). I tested the following install steps in a virtualbox vm prior to following the sames ones to upgrade my laptop: Download/burn ubuntu minimal cd (12mb one) Install ubuntu minimal sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get ubuntu-desktop ubuntu-standard In the VM worked fine and I found myself with a working 9.10 ubuntu, network worked fine and I was able to test my backups and DropBox without a hitch (host was 9.04). When I followed the same steps on my laptop, everything worked up to after 9.10 being installed and working. As far as I can tell, everything besides eth0/wireless works. For some reason, I am unable to access the internet. Ping reports that over 99% of packets get lost (over an hour or so of pinging). This means for example that if I try hard enough, I can load a webpage but only at the cost of much patience... This happens both for a wired and wireless connection to my wrt310n (updated with latest firmware). At first I thought that it could be related to the ipv6 issues ppl have been experiencing however even after disabling ipv6 at the kernel level (through grub), I still get the issue. I do not think this is related to DNS issues or the likes since even when I ping my ISP's gateway IP, I have the same amount of packet loss. No DNS resolving should be required there. Access to my router works peachy with no packet loss there. I've tried different MTU values but to no avail. Note that this issue affects every web-enabled application: firefox, ping, synaptic, etc. The same hardware/router combo works with 9.04 but not with 9.10. In fact, when I did: sudo apt-get ubuntu-desktop ubuntu-standard after 9.10 minimal was installed, it downloaded over 400mb of packages without a hitch so my guess is that one of those packages either in ubuntu-desktop or ubuntu-standard is causing havok. Thoughts?

I installed android and the touchscreen works but still lots of other bugs. Oh well, stuck with Windows 7 and not happy about it. Will keep trying, but too much time wasted already.   • How do I remove the on screen keyboard from the logon screen in Windows Remote Desktop Server 2008 R

    The on screen keyboard (OSK) from the "ease of access" tools pops up on EVERY connect to the server, even if you have not activated it. I can't seem to find a control panel or reg setting to switch it off. It is VERY "in your face" for linux users who connect at lower resolutions and do not provide all credentials, but have to type username and password. I'm running a 2008 R2 Terminal Server/Remote Desktop Server.

The problem is, I believe it is also giving more power to my keyboard and trackpad. And now, neither devices are working at all, yet they work on Mac OS X.     My goal is to instead of buying 4 separate basic PCs (plus the obvious peripherals), buy just one fast PC and the peripherals. I'm wondering if I can use a more powerful computer, say, one with core i7 and plenty of RAM, with 2 video cards (total of 4 monitor outputs) to run 4 or more virtual machines (WinXPs) so instead of having 4 individual machines, I'll be having just one. However, the catch is, is it possible to have a pair of mouse and keyboard + input/output audio for each of these virtual machines?

    I have a Korg Nanokey, and I'd like to make it produce sound in ubuntu. I've read that means I should be using Rosegarden, and that Rosegarden uses JACK, but does not install it. (Although checking out Ubuntu Software Center, apparently some components of JACK are installed by default?) I understand there can be a lot of work setting up JACK without it fighting the default sound server. Can someone give me a step-by-step method for what I need to do to plug in my midi machine and hear music when I press keys as simply as possible (without messing up pulseaudio, ie, so I can still access Skype and ordinary desktop stuff)? I'm fine installing JACK, but I'd like to sandbox it a little if it has the chance of messing up regular desktop.
