Hi,
can anyone tell me if it is possible to display an ArcGIS dynamicMapService on GoogleEarth via the GoogleMaps API? It works fine with KML but my services are only visible on the 2D maps.
Any ideas?
I have a query that is very recently starting to throw:
"The built-in indices are not efficient enough for this query and your data. Please add a composite index for this query."
I checked the line on which this exception is being thrown, and the problem query is this one:
count = self.vote_set.filter("direction =", 1).count()
This is literally a one-filter operation using appengine's built-in backreferences. I have no idea how to optimize this query...anyone have any suggestions? I tried to add this index:
- kind: Vote
properties:
- name: direction
direction: desc
- kind: Vote
properties:
- name: direction
And I got a message (obviously) saying this was an unnecessary index.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Hi. I'm in the middle of developing android app using google map. My question is - how to store coordinates with google map and display them later on? I know how to use canvas, how to draw it etc. but I want to store those coordinates with google map - just like with the google maps feature on internet. When I log in I can see points I've put on the map straight away. Can someone please tell me how to do that? There must be a way. Any answers greatly appreciated!
I'm trying to use Google Sites to host an Eclipse P2 site.
However, Install New Software fails to the site because the features and plugins directories are not found. It seems that Google Sites only simulates subdirectories on FileCabinet pages.
Is there an alternative Google Sites approach?
Or is there a way to set up a P2 site without subdirectories or so that Install New Software will reference a zip file?
Any alternative recommendations?

I have tried everything possible.. unminified all javascript, still can't get the map to load properly inside the tab.
Trying to use this custom code too with no success
jQuery('.tabs-shortcode > ul').bind('tabsshow', function(e, ui) {
if (ui && ui.panel) {
jQuery('.mapp-canvas', ui.panel).each(function() {
var id = jQuery(this).attr('id');
if (id) {
window[id].resize();
}
});
}
});

I'm trying to add new google-play-services_lib in my old project,
due to which R.jave file is removed from the project.
Also, as soon as i remove google-play-services_lib, i get my R.java file back.
minimum sdk version is 11.
I'm referring to following link:
https://developer.android.com/google/play-services/setup.html
I am following these steps to add library as a project ==
Right-click on My project - Properties In Android-Library section click Add select recently added project - Ok
then aapt.exe has stopped working and R.jave file is removed from the project
If I have an entity derived from db.Expando I can write Dynamic property by just assigning a value to a new property, e.g. "y" in this example:
class MyEntity(db.Expando):
x = db.IntegerProperty()
my_entity = MyEntity(x=1)
my_entity.y = 2
But suppose I have the name of the dynamic property in a variable... how can I (1) read and write to it, and (2) check if the Dynamic variable exists in the entity's instance? e.g.
class MyEntity(db.Expando):
x = db.IntegerProperty()
my_entity = MyEntity(x=1)
# choose a var name:
var_name = "z"
# assign a value to the Dynamic variable whose name is in var_name:
my_entity.property_by_name[var_name] = 2
# also, check if such a property esists
if my_entity.property_exists(var_name):
# read the value of the Dynamic property whose name is in var_name
print my_entity.property_by_name[var_name]
Thanks...
I have been reading about app engine but I still dont know what I can and cant do with it in a android application.
Basically what I want to do is be able to create/manage a database in the cloud that the app can pull down and update the local database if needed. Creation and managing would be done outside of the app by me.
I dont know much about all of this as I am just getting started with it but I already have an application made, I just want to add this feature to it. I have never written any sort of Web Service calls or anything either but I have used them to get data and such
Can this be done? Any tutorials out there to help me out?
I have a GWT + AppEngine application that lets users create online polls. I want to let the poll creator choose from a variety of themes for his poll. We will save the theme a poll creator chose on the server and whenever a poll respondent access the poll he will get the questions with the chosen theme.
A theme for us means a set of 4-5 colors which we will use to style the poll page. Our client side application is a GWT application with styles set inline in UiBinder templates elements, for example:
<ui:style>
.header {
background: color1;
padding: 6px 6px;
}
.anothercssclass {
background: color2;
padding: 6px 6px;
}
</ui:style>
Please suggest how we can set the color1 and color2 from the theme saved on server. Please note this is NOT a GWT module theme question.
Just to confirm what I think I understand from reading about use of google APIs in RIAs (FLEX 4 and ActionScript) there is no way to connect to blogger API for example, directly from RIA because of google's crossdomain.xml file, right?
So if I want to use their APIs to get some data like content of my mailbox or list of posts on my blog I have to have some code running server side and RIA would just use that code as httpservice to collect data from google?
Or maybe I got it completly wrong?
Is there a good way to do this? I'm writing an extension that interacts with a website as a content script and saves data using localstorage. Are there any tools, frameworks, etc. that I can use to test this behavior? I realize there are some generic tools for testing javascript, but are those sufficiently power to test an extension? Unit testing is most important, but I'm also interested in other types of testing (such as integration testing).
I would like my page action to be activated for all the outgoing links from a certain page. How might I go about doing that? I've gone over the docs to no avail. Any pointers would be appreciated!
in my chrome extension I got an div, which I will add to the body of the current tab. I am listening to chrome.tabs.onUpdated. If this event is called, I execute a script inside content_scripts. In this function there I´ll wait till the document is ready with jQuery $(document).ready(...).
I try to access
$("#div").length
and sometimes it returns 1 and sometimes 0. It should added to the body, if it´s not already there.
For some strange reasons, the onUpdated event is called twice on each page reload. Actually I found no way to check safely if the div was already added.
I came up with a good solution for a client showing a google map iFrame using the normal google maps embed. Only problem? They want the links inside the iFrame to open in a new window instead of there on the page.
So, I used the static API to come up with a static image of a map and have that link to the google maps site with target="_blank".
Great, but they don't get the pretty draggable map.
Is there a way to do what I want using the google maps API? I'm reading the API documentation but without actually trying it I'm not sure if it can be done, and would love it if someone with some experience with the API can point me in the right direction or just tell me why it's WAY not worth the effort.
I want the map to be opened on full-screen. I've tried this:
<div class="b-firm-map-content" id="map"></div>
<a href="#" onclick="test2();return false;" >full screen</a>
function test2(){
var width = $(window).width()-3;
var height = $(window).height();
$('#map').css({
'width': width,
'height': height - 40 ,
'position': 'absolute ',
'z-index' : '900'
});
}
but it result in:

http://pixs.ru/showimage/Snimok1png_4265065_6065745.png
My map not completely displayed.
And if not, why not?
The following index always fails for me, even though I had thought I could have a sort order with a list property as long as the index didn't sort or match against any other properties.
- kind: Foo
properties:
- name: location_geocells
- name: time
direction: desc
If such a composite index is allowed, are there any reasons that this might be failing for me? Do the existence of other indices on the same model increase the likelihood of this failure? Does the combination of a sort order with a list property require more than N entries, where N is the number of values in the list property? (If so, how many does it require?)
There is jquery on the page my script is trying to access, and the code I am trying to execute runs fine in console.
However, when I use chrome.tabs.executeScript on that single tab, it says that $ is undefined.
How can I fix this?
Thanks for the help!
I have no clue what I'm doing wrong here! This should be working I believe. I'm writing a chrome extension and this should get the current tab's url and set the html of #current-tab to the url (for testing purposes). The code successfully gets to the callback, but it says that tab.url is undefined when I put it in an alert box, and it does not put it's value in #current-tab. Here's the code I have:
$('#get-tab').click(function(){
chrome.tabs.query({"active" : true}, function(tab){
for (var i = 0; i < tab.length; i++) {
alert(tab.url);
$('#current-tab').append(tab.url);
};
});
});
Can someone help me fill in the blanks with native JavaScript?
function getHeading(lat1, lon1, lat2, lon2) {
// Do cool things with math here
return heading; // Should be a number between 0 and 360
}
I've been messing around with this for a long time and can't seem to get my code to work right.
in order to dynamically create a form, i have to find the property types of a model's properties at runtime.
appengine docs says that Model.properties() will return a dictionary of properties name and their class type. when i use this method in my code, only the name is returned and the classtype value is always empty.
