I currently have it set, so I can send email from my [email protected] instead of [email protected]. This is done through the web ui on my current domain name, provider, gandi.net. What are the main differences between this arrangement, and setting up a Google Apps for your domain setup, where I'm explicitly listing in the dns records to point records to point to Google's app mail server?

The trick is that I don't want to have them have to change clients. Long ago I used Trillian... then Pidgin and now Meebo. But these are not solutions to the question.   • Getting a users Facebook profile url

    I am creating a registry site so similar people can find each other easily. I don't want to use Facebook Connect as the primary log in method or use Facebook to store their information. I'll be creating a database on my end to store that info. For security reasons I won't be displaying the users address, phone number or email address so I wanted to provide the next best way for people to connect with each other, this is where Facebook comes in. Normally I would just ask them to type their Facebook URL in a text box but I don't think most people know what their url is which is why I think I need to use Facebook Connect. So here is my idea..when the users signs up there is a check box that when checked signifies they are allowing people to find them on Facebook. I assume once they click the register button that a Facebook Connect popup will show up asking for permission to access their Facebook account. When they "allow" it, then I can get their profile url. All I need is their Facebook profile url, I don't want any other Facebook features or information. Is Facebook Connect the best thing to use for this scenario? Is there an easier way? Several months ago on the Facebook Connect site their used to be examples of doing this, but all the documentation has been rearranged and changed and I can't seem to find the information. Any help you can provide would be great!

  • Can I use Google Apps for mail but Exchange for calendar, tasks & contacts?

    My parents' domain is registered with Google Apps (standard edition). Currently, the only service they are using is email (which they access via IMAP in Outlook). I'd like to register this same domain with a hosted Exchange service so that they can sync their Exchange calendar, tasks, and contacts with Outlook as well. I'd like to keep their email on Google for a couple of reasons. Is this possible?

    Hi guys, I recently launched my web application and set up google analytics to monitor it. For some weird reason google analytics shows a 49.7 percent bounce rate - I'm quite suprised as to why and how is this possible. My web application works well - I've never been bounced off even once whenever I visit it from any browser. What's going on I have no idea what to look out for here?

    I am trying to put Facebook connect button on the site and once connected display connected username. But for some reason following code goes into some infinite loop during first connection, and then works fine unless I delete this app from my facebook profile which causes freezing again. I use these scripts at work when I encounter a coding problem that (for some reason) hasn't been answered at StackOverflow, and don't want to see sites like experts-exchange.     I have a request for enhancement for Google Chrome, but don't know where to place it. I checked http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/list but it seems to be only for bugs. I use the spelling check quite often, but I need to swap between english and spanish all the time according to the website. Since chrome can detect the webpage language, it would be great to have the spell check set to that language by default.

    I've got Chrome running on my Linux netbook, it's great and, unlike the Mac version, the 'Create Application Shortcut' option isn't greyed out. So I created one for Gmail. The 'applications' get stored at ~/.local/share/applications but I haven't managed to launch it yet. If I use Chrome in terminal $ google-chrome ~/.local/share/applications/google-application-reallylong-randomname.thing It opens the file in a new tab in Chrome and helpfully downloads it for me! Anyone got application shortcuts working in Linux?

  • Able to connect by SSH, but not x2go

    I am having trouble connecting to a remote server with X2GO using a DSA key. Connecting works fine over SSH, but when I try to connect with X2GO, it goes immediately to the username/password box and doesn't want to use the private key I specify in the options. If I select "Try auto login" it appears to try to connect and then I get the following error: No public key matched Access denied. Authentication that can continue: publickey It was working previously, but I reinstalled the client OS and since then I am unable to connect. I copied all of the SSH keys over from the previous installation. I also tried deleting my ~/.ssh/known_hosts file and adding the key to ssh-agent with no success, but the key is definitely added correctly: $ ssh-add -l 1024 b9:3d:e5:ef:48:ea:fc:c6:6e:45:89:b5:35:e7:58:39 server.com_dsa (DSA) Note, if I enable password authentication on the server, I can connect fine, however I would like to use publickey. Any ideas how I can connect with public key authentication?
