  • WCF web service: response is 200/ok, but response body is empty

    I am creating a WCF web api service. My problem is that some methods return a 200/OK response, but the headers and the body are empty. In setting up my web service, I created an ADO.NET Entity Data Model. I chose ADO.NET DbContext Generator when I added a code generation item. In the Model.tt document, I changed HashSet and ICollection to List. I built my website. It used to be that when I coded a method to return a List of an entity (like List<Customer> or List<Employee> in the Northwind database), it worked fine. Over time, I could not return a List of any of those, and could only grab one entity. Now, it's gotten to a point where I can return a List<string> or List<int>, but not a List or an instance of any entity. When I try to get a List<AnyEntity>, the response is 200/OK, but the response headers and body are empty. I have tried using the debugger and Firefox's Web Console. Using FF's WC, I could only get an "undefined" status code. I am not sure where to go from here. EDIT: In trying to grab all Areas from the database, I do this: [WebGet(UriTemplate = "areas")] public List<a1Areas> AllAreas() { return context.a1Areas.ToList(); } I would appreciate any more methods for debugging this.     Hi, I'm developing a Work item Custom Control and I need to use the standard VS's Merge Wizard for items in source control from my code to allow to user choose the target branch, resolve conflicts etc. I'm pretty sure it's possible in some way (even through the reflection), but I just can't find the proper class in any of VS client assemblies (Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Controls.dll, Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.dll).     Greetings! Last semester in college, my teacher in the Computer Languages class taught us the esoteric language named Whitespace. In the interest of learning the language better with a very busy schedule (midterms), I wrote an interpreter and assembler in Python. An assembly language was designed to facilitate writing programs easily, and a sample program was written with the given assembly mnemonics. Now that it is summer, a new project has begun with the objective being to rewrite the interpreter and assembler for Whitespace 0.3, with further developments coming afterwards. Since there is so much extra time than before to work on its design, you are presented here with an outline that provides a revised set of mnemonics for the assembly language. This post is marked as a wiki for their discussion. Have you ever had any experience with assembly languages in the past? Were there some instructions that you thought should have been renamed to something different? Did you find yourself thinking outside the box and with a different paradigm than in which the mnemonics were named? If you can answer yes to any of those questions, you are most welcome here. Then i have the Form1 class lets call that E(Visual) I want to print out the private members from A on the visual form "E" in a Listbox If i try ex) this-listbox1-items-add(X.veichles[i]-getBrand()); it complains that veichles is a private member in D. How can i get around that?

  • Live Folder: browser intent error

    I'm trying to make a Live Folder with URIs. The intent I set to the Live Folder items is an Intent{Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse(url)}. I have verified url is indeed http://www.google.com (for testing purposes). But when I click the item in the live folder I get an error message: "Application is not installed on your phone." I guess I'm missing something, but I have no idea how to make the browser launch.

  • Giving event control back to xaml/callee to access check/uncheck

    Hi All, I've scoured the Internet but my search-foo must not work if it's out there cause I just can't find the proper search terms to get me the answer I am looking for. So I turn to the experts here as a last resort to point me in the right direction. What I'm trying to do is create a composite control of a text box and a list box but I want to allow the control consumer to decide what to do when say the checkbox is checked/unchecked and I just can't figure it out... Maybe i'm going about it all wrong. What I've done thus far is to: create a custom control that extends ListBox expose a custom DP named "Text" (for the Text box but it's not the important part) craft the generic.xaml so that the list items have a default ItemTemplate/DataTemplate inside the DataTemplate I'm trying to set the "Checked" or "Unchecked" events expose 'wrapper' events as DPs in the custom control that would get 'set' via the template when instatiated As soon as I try something like the following (inside generic.xaml): <DataTemplate> <...> <CheckBox Checked="{TemplateBinding MyCheckedDP}"/> <...> </DataTemplate> I get runtime exceptions, the designer - vs2010 - pukes out a LONG list of errors that are all very similar and nothing I do can make it work. I went so far as to try using the VisualTreeHelper but no magic combination I could find would work nor would it allow me to traverse the tree because when the OnApplyTemplate method fires the listbox items don't exist yet and aren't in the tree. So hopefully this all makes sense but if not please let me know and I'll edit the post for clarifications. Thanks to all for any pointers or thoughts... Like I said maybe I'm heading about it in the wrong way from the start...   • Float: left not showing up after a certain point.

    http://test.jptgraphics.com/products?cat=APPAREL This works fine in Safari but shows incorrectly in the latest version of Firefox ( was fine in 3.5) and in some versions of IE. In the middle column the product thumbnails drop down below when the 'float: left;' parameter is used. It is as if it is being escaped by a tag from that point forward no 'float: left's work and all the items are centered moving forward.
