  • How much localizations is too much for a game?

    We are making an RTS game and we intend to add localizations to all languages our players use. So far we have 16 locales and about 3-4 are being planned. Now some crazy ideas pop up from our community, players ask for "funny text" localizations. We have been already offered a pack that makes it for 1 of our languages. Now I was thinking where should we draw a line between official localizations which we include into the game and unofficial mods that players will have to install on their own? Obviously overcrowding locale selection menu with all sorts of funny locales (LOL-cat, redneck, welsh, medieval, simplified, etc.) for all the languages seems way too much. But is it really? What are the hidden pros and cons of having too much locales and how much is too much?

  • Uninstall Caribou?

    I just installed the Gnome Tweak Tool in order to change my icon theme to Faenza, but it seems to have installed some other program named Caribou, which I think is an onscreen keyboard program, with it. This is absolutely useless for me, and frankly, I hate the fact that it was installed silently and without my permission. When I go to uninstall it, it says that it's part of gnome-shell and requires the un-installation of that as well. What do I do?

  • How do I "print" to a PostScript file from LibreOffice Write?

    Using OpenOffice with 10.04 I was able to print to a Postscript file, but I find I can't do this with LibreOffice and 12.04 - print-to-file goes to PDF. I want this feature so that I can use a FinePrint-like tool called fprint to print .PS files in booklet form. When I print from other applications I'm offered the usual choice of printers, including print to .PS, but LibreOffice restricts my choice.

  • Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7 SP1 released to manufacturers

    SP1 went RTM today which means it will be widely available soon. According  to the Microsoft server division blog, the service pack will be available to Microsoft's TechNet and MSDN subscribers, as well as to Microsoft volume licensing customers, on Feb. 16, 2011.     I need to create a Windows installation USB drive from an ISO file. I used UNetbootin which seems to be the only tool that can write non-Linux images. The USB disk boots (sort of), but it gets stuck at the very first stage. A UNetbootin splash screen appears that keeps counting down from 10 to 0, and then restarts. The screen looks like this: Is there a way to make Windows boot from a USB image created on Linux?

After finishing the creation of meta-data, I checked via webmaster tool the result of my work and my a priori data are taken into account (see here).
