  • Exception when deploying a JSR 286 portlet into WebLogic+WebCenter 11g

    I get the following exception when deploying a JSR 286 portlet into Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (to deploy it later in Oracle WebCenter 11g): <19-ene-2010 13H32' CET> <Error> <oracle.portlet.server.containerimpl.PortletApplicationImpl> <BEA-000000> <Error al procesar el archivo "/WEB-INF/portlet.xml" en la lÝnea 6 columna 68. org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'portlet-app' The error message is in spanish. It means: "Error processing the file "/WEB-INF/portlet.xml at line 6 column 68" The portlet.xml of my portlet seems to be correct and I've deployed it in other portal servers. So I don't understand the error message.   • VMWare ESX Updates - Which to Apply?

    Wondering what more experienced ESX admins typically do... I just brought our ESX hosts up to 3.5 Update 5 (Yes, I know we're behind still). I then applied the "Critical Host Updates" baseline in VMWare update manager, and found that we're still short on 14 "critical updates". My question is, do most people go ahead and apply any update flagged as critical, or do they evaluate each update one-by-one to determine whether or not the issue that has been addressed is likely to affect them. In the SQL Server world (my alma mater, so to speak), we regularly apply service packs, and sometimes cumulative updates, but we only apply hotfixes when the issue that they are targeted towards affects us. Does the same logic hold fast in VMWare land?

Feels like a hack. Has anyone got a better approach? I don't like this because I have to read in a 125k string into memory. Is it valid rss to include "complex content" like that - a script block inside an element? Thanks.

  • MacBook Pro Boot Camp SPDIF passthrough?

    I'm using Windows 7 through Boot Camp on a unibody Macbook Pro and am having problems using the SPDIF output. I get the expected Dolby Digital or DTS in some movies, but in other movies and in games (Source engine, StarCraft 2) where the output is enabled to 5.1, the output invariably shows up as Dolby Pro Logic, which means (I think) that passthrough is not enabled. The boot camp drivers for the sound card don't have any sort of control panel, and the Windows settings for enabling DTS and Dolby seem to work when I test those outputs in the sound settings. Is there some other setting or utility I can use to enable SPDIF passthrough for all programs?

What I need to do is add a HKLM entry as well as the registry entry for the program to show in the start menu.     Hello, I'm trying to connect to an oracle database with sqldeveloper. I've installed the .Net oracle drivers and placed the tnsnames.ora file at C:\Oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\Network\Admin. I'm using the following format in tnsnames.ora. dev = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.XXX.XXX)(PORT = XXXX)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = idpdev2) ) ) In sqldeveloper, when I try to create a new connection, no tns names show up as options. Is there something I'm missing?

  • Custom Control Not Playing Nice With PropertyGrid

    I have a class that is implementing a custom ToolStripItem. Everything seems to work great until I try to add the item to a ContextMenuStrip at design time. If I try to add my custom control straight from the ContextMenuStrip the PropertyGrid freezes up and will not let me modify my Checked or Text properties. But if I go into the ContextMenuStrip PropertyGrid and add my custom control through the Items(...) property, I can modify the custom control just fine within that dialog. I'm not sure if I'm missing an attribute somewhere of if its a problem with the underlying code. Here is a copy of the CustomToolStripItem class. As you can see, its a very simple class.   • Outlook plugin/macro - "Got the wrong bob"

    I want to develop a feature in outlook similar to 'Got the wrong bob' feature in Gmail. I want my plugin/macro to check the addressees when I hit send and want to alert me if I have included wrong person. I need some ideas about how can I build the logic for this feature? Or how should I go about it? If such plugin is already there then even better.. P.S.: I have already checked SendGuard and it is not of much use in this case.

    If I start ant compile in JDeveloper all classes are compiled successfully and copied to the classes folder. But if I run ant compile from console then no classes are copied to the classes folder. Does anyone know why?
