• apache tiles ordering problem

  I have a problem with the order of rendering tiles. The menu gets rendered first and then the body of our webpage gets rendered. Each tile has it`s own controller that handles everything that tile needs to do. There are two forms. One in the menu and one in the body. Each one changes something in the menu and in the body. The problem is that if a form in the body changes something the menu gets rendered first and then the body controller handles form things and puts data to session, but menu is already done and the session was empty. I cant turn body and menu around becaouse there are other forms that work the other way around. How to deal with this problem? I do want every tile to have its own controller that deals with everything that tile does.

• Multiple unrelated in JasperReports

  I am using iReport with JasperReports. I want to include multiple subreports that have unrelated sql queries. I would like to be able to put these all on one report. The problem I am facing is that when I leave the master report sql query empty, none of my subreports have any data. There isn't really anything that the master report sends to the subreports since they are unrelated. Basically how do you throw multiple unrelated reports together into one report.

• Walking a hierarchy table with Linq

  I have a table with two columns, GroupId and ParentId (both are GUIDS). The table forms a hierarchy so I can look for a value in the “GroupId” filed, when I have found it I can look at its ParentId. This ParentId will also appear in the GroupId of a different record. I can use this to walk up the hierarchy tree from any point to the root (root is an empty GUID). What I’d like to do is get a list of records when I know a GroupId. This would be the record with the GroupId and all the parents back to the root record. Is this possible with Linq and if so, can anyone provide a code snippet?

• chained msi's/Bootstrapper/prerequisite?

  I have a few component msi packages that need to installed together to form the end application. The problem is: the components that make up the package can be updated and the component relaunched on the http file server.What approach should i take? The installer that i am writing is the 'master' installer. Which needs to be able to read what version of each component is installed on ther client machine in order to perform an upgrade only on that one component. Also if the application is installed for the first time the installer will download and install all required components. I am using Installshield 2009. I have looked into chained MSI's but the master installer is empty. as it needs to be as lightweight as possible. I have no idea how to write a bootstrapper application and my company perfers that i use installshield to write the installer. I have researched - and apparently pre-requisites are not meant to be uninstalled.

  I am experiencing some very odd timing behavior from a function I wrote. If I wrap my function inside another empty container function, it gets a 3x speedup. > tic; foo(args); toc time elapsed: ~140 seconds >tic; bar(args); toc time elapsed: ~35 seconds Here's the kicker - the definition of bar(): define bar(args) foo(args) end Is there some sort of optimization that gets triggered in MATLAB for nested function calls? Should I be adding a dummy function to every function that I write?

• mod_xsendfile serving download.php and not the filename

  Hello, The apache mod_xsendfile is a good solution for what I want but its not working properly. In firefox it serves the file but as download.php (name of the file with the code in). In safari and chrome it serves an empty file. • System.Interactive: Difference between Memoize() and MemoizeAll()?

  In System.Interactive.dll (v1.0.2521.0) from Reactive Extensions, EnumerableEx has both a Memoize method and a MemoizeAll method. The API documentation is identical for both of them: Creates an enumerable that enumerates the original enumerable only once and caches its results. However, these methods are clearly not identical. If I use Memoize, my enumerable has values the first time I enumerate it, and seems to be empty the second time. If I use MemoizeAll then I get the behavior I would expect from the description of either method - I can enumerate the result as many times as I want and get the same results each time, but the source is only enumerated once. Can anyone tell me what the intended difference between these methods is? What is the use-case for Memoize? It seems like a fairly useless method with really confusing documentation.

• jQuery AJAX get request - cannot see returned data

  I think I am missing something obvious here, but I can't figure it out. I expect the following HTML to alert a response from the server. But, the alert is empty. I can see in Wireshark that the expected response is coming back to me from the server. • SQL Filter Multiple Tables Data

  If it matters, I'm using Firebird 2.1 database. I have three tables, one with keywords, one with negative keywords, and the other with required keywords. I need to be able to filter the data so the output has just the keywords that meat the stipulation of not being in the negative keyword list, and IF there are any required words, then it will require the results to have those keywords in the end result. The tables are very similar, the field in the tables that I would be matching against are all called keyword. I don't know SQL very well at all. I'm guessing it would be something like SELECT keyword from keywordstable where keyword in requiredkeywordstable and where NOT in negativekeywordstable Just a side note, The required keywords table could be empty which would mean there are no required keywords. Any help would be appreciated. -Brad

  Using the jQuery $.post function, if you send a null value, it arrives at the server side as "null". Example: Javascript: $.post('test.php', { foo : null }); PHP: var_dump($_POST['foo']); // string(4) "null" I understand why this is so, but was wondering the best way to work around the limitation? Should you: Loop through all the variables in JS before you send them and replace with an empty string? Interpret "null" as null on the server side? Don't send the variable at all? Something else?

  Hi all - when I look up the syntax for .data(), it gives examples like this: $('body').data('foo', 52); I am doing AJAX loads and I was wondering if it is possible to store the incoming html using .data() so once the content is loaded, I would not need to do another AJAX load if the same link is clicked again - I would check to see if the .data key is empty. Would something like this work?: To load the contents of a #ajaxdiv into storage: $('body').data('storage', div#ajaxdiv.html()); To test if the data has already been loaded: if $('body').data('storage') != '' { div#ajaxdiv.html($('body').data('storage')); } Thanks in advance!! • FDF-files not opening properly

  We have created a servlet that provides a FDF file for our clients. The FDF file is created by iText and the output looks fine. Whenever we open the FDF either from the Servlet, or from a local file, AcrobatReader starts, asks if the PDF should be downloaded, we allow that and then we see the PDF - without the values we filled in the form. One thing that seems strange is, that regardless of the Browser, we get prompted about what to do with the PDF file that Adobe has tried to load. Anything else that clicking "open" will result in a empty Acrobat viewer window. I suspect that Acrobat forgets what to do with the PDF - but I have run out of ideas. Anyone got an idea where to look further?

• Problem with access to control properties in Multibox

  I used multibox-component to create lightbox-similar div. But I faced problem. I placed textbox with id ‘tbx_position’ in that div. I entered some symbols in textbox and then tried to read value via javascript-function (it had to alert document.getElementById(‘tbx_position’).value). Every time that value was empty. There is example of it. Furthermore, if I place in the div asp:Button, server OnClick-eventhandler doesn’t catch fire. Is any idea, what’s reason? Thanks.

• [SCORM 2004] the cmi.total_time parameter does not return anything.

  I am programming a SCORM 2004 product. I can update the session_time, it works. I can set the status (passed, failed, etc...) I also can get the cmi.location time. No problems! But I don't succeed atingt get the total time (cmi.total_time). I have tested on 2 LMS: On Ganesha the API.GetValue('cmi.total_time') is an empty string. On Moodle the API.GetValue('cmi.total_time') is just a "P". I do have the correct logs with correct session times. EDIT. I also try on cloud.scorm.com and cmi.total_time returns each time PT0H0M0S.

  Suppose a simple phrase "In" in English needs to be interpreted as "" - empty string in Russian. Is is possible to specify that in the .po file? What normally happens if you set msgstr "" - you'll get the untranslated key, but I want to get nothing in that specific case. Here is a use case: I have underneath a giant search bar a set of buttons to select questions (for a Q&A site) from particular scopes - like so: (in English) In: [all] [unanswered] [my own] (in Russian I want) [???] [??? ???????] [???] It just sounds more natural.   The argument to my function f() must implement two different interfaces that are not related to each other by inheritance, IFoo and IBar. I know of two different ways of doing this. The first is to declare an empty interface that inherits from both: public interface IFooBar : IFoo, IBar { // nothing to see here } public int f(IFooBar arg) { // etc. } This, of course, requires that the classes declare themselves as implementing IFooBar rather than IFoo and IBar separately. • Select a data template by item type programatically in WPF

  Hi all, unfortunately the WPF ToolbarTray does not support binding to a collection of ToolbarViewModels (Correct me, if I'm wrong). Thus I want to create the Toolbars programmatically. So there are two tasks, which I don't know how to do: Select the data template based on the item type. Instantiate the data template as toolbar Both should do the same as WPF does, when we use ItemsControl with an enumerable content and empty template. I used reflector to anaylse what WPF does. Task 1 is done by FrameworkElement.FindTemplateResourceInternal, but this is internal, and I couldn't find any public methods to acomplish the task. Of course one could enumerate all resources and match the data template data type property, but this seems sub-optimal. Who know's how to acomplish these tasks?

• Why do SQL connection leave parameters in?

  While coding with sqlite everytime i always had the exact number of parameters and when i executed the query i always had 0 parameters after it. I kept using the cmd object and it worked fine. Now while porting to use sql server (2008) my SqlConnection has parameters left over from a successful command. Why? I seem to be able to create tables without the problem (then again i may have use a clone of an empty cmd since i use recursion). Does SqlCommand always leave the parameters in after a query? This always breaks the following query unless i do parameter.clear(). Should i create a new SqlCommand object? or use parameter.clear() each time? I'm somewhat confused.
