• How to upload files and store them in a server local path when MS SQL SERVER allows remote connectio

  I am developing a win32 windows application with Delphi and MS SQL Server. it works fine in LAN but I am trying to add the support for SQL Server remote connections (= working with a DB that can be accessed with an external IP, as described in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;914277). Basically I have a Table in DB where I keep the DocumentID, the document description and the Document path (like \FILESERVER\MyApplicationDocuments\45.zip). Of course \FILESERVER is a local (LAN) path for the server but not for the client (as I am now trying to add the support for remote connections). So I need a way to access \FILESERVER even if of course I cannot see it in LAN. I found the following T-SQL code snippet that is perfect for the "download trick": SELECT BulkColumn as MyFile FROM OPENROWSET(BULK '\FILESERVER\MyApplicationDocuments\45.zip' , SINGLE_BLOB) AS X With the code above I can download a file on the client. But how to upload it? I need an "Uppload trick" to be able to insert new files, but also to delete or replace existing files. Can anyone suggest? If a trick is not available could you suggest an alternative? Like an extended stored procedure or calling some .net assembly from the server.

• How can a link within a WebView load another layout using javascript?

  So I have 2 layout files (main.xml, featured.xml) and both each have a single WebView. When the application starts "main.xml" loads a html file into it's WebView. In this html file I have a link that calls javascript that runs code in the Activity that loaded the html. Once back in this Activity code though I try running setContentView(R.layout.featured) but it just bombs out on me. If I debug it just dies without any real error and if I run it the application just Force closes.   I'm trying to develop a new feature for our vb.net order entry system. At the moment I provide an assisted paypal login which loops through transactions and copies the transactions. My program then looks at this data and copies it into text boxes. The operator then approves and saves the record. So my code uses IHTMLFormElement and loops round form elements and adds values. However I only really use this to log in to paypal. See my code...   I'm adding hotkeys to a web application in order to enable keyboard shortcuts for our CSRs to use, to reduce injury and increase calls-per-hour. I'm using an ASP.net UserControl to inject javascript into the page and it's working great. I want the control to "just work", so that when hotkeys are assigned, using a declarative syntax, if the hotkeyed letter exists in the link text, it will be highlighted automatically, so the developer doesn't have to do anything, and also to maintain consistency in visual cues. Here's the code to assign hotkeys, if it matters: <uc:HotKeysControl ID="theHotkeys" runat="server" Visible="true"> <uc:HotKey ControlName="AccStatus$btnInvoiceEverBill" KeyCode="ctrl+v" /> <uc:HotKey ControlName="AccStatus$btnRefund" KeyCode="ctrl+u" /> <uc:HotKey ControlName="thirdControl" KeyCode="ctrl+p" /> </uc:HotKeysControl> I want something like: <a href="whatever" name="thirdControl">Make a <span class=hotkey">P</span>ayment</a> ...but I'm not married to the idea of injecting a <span/> in there if there's a better way. • How can I get HTML to link to a browser (or system) specified URL?

  Hi All, I'd like to be able to create a "HTML link" that the user can click on and be taken to an URL (location) specified either in the browser (preferences?) or system environment. Is this possible? Any suggestions on how to do it please? For example, it may look something like this (or alternatively it could be a clickable image or even a submit button): "Click here to go to your preferred news site." When the user clicks on "here" the browser would go to a location specified not in the HTML but somehow in the browser (preferences?) or some system environment variable (OS specific etc.) Of course, the user would have to set up this preference or environment variable (or have some local application or better Web page that could set it - when approved by the user). This is sort of like most OS these days allow you to set "preferred app" for image processing or playing media. I would like to set preferred Web sites for certain tasks. Thanks for any suggestions. • Run Reporting Service in local mode and generate columns automatically?

  Hi, I have a SQL query right now which I want to use with the MS reporting services in my ASP.NET application. So I created a report in local mode (rdlc) and attached this to a report viewer. Since my query uses parameters, I created a stored procedure, which had exactly those parameters. In addition to that I had some textboxes which are used for entering the params for the query and a button to call the stored proc and to fill the datatset which is bound to the report viewer. This works, I press the button and according to what I entred the correct data is shown. Now my question: In the future I plan to have multiple reports (which will be selected in a dropdown) and I wonder if I can somehow just call the correct stored procedure and according to the columns which are *SELECT*ed in the procedure, the columns are shown in the report. Example: I select report1 from the dropdown (procedure for report 1 is called), 5 columns are shown in the reportviewer. I select report2 from dropdown (procedure for report 2 is called), 8 columns are shown. Is that possible somehow? Thanks :-)

(Note that I'm using weakRef for the sole purpose of checking if the new'ed object is still around.) void Case_2() { var unusedLocalVar = new object(); var weakRef = new WeakReference(unusedLocalVar); GC.Collect(); // <-- doesn't have to be an explicit call; just assume that // garbage collection would occur at this point. Debug.Assert(weakReferenceToUseless.IsAlive); } The main change in this code example from the previous one is that the new'ed object is strongly referenced by a local variable (unusedLocalVar). However, this variable is never used again after the weak reference (weakRef) has been created. Question: Is a conforming C# compiler allowed to optimize the first two lines of Case_2 into those of Case_1 if it sees that unusedLocalVar is only used in one place, namely as an argument to the WeakReference constructor? i.e. is there any possibility that the assertion in Case_2 could ever fail?

• Is it possible to have WAMP run httpd.exe as user [myself] instead of local SYSTEM?

  Hello! I run a django application over apache with mod_wsgi, using WAMP. A certain URL allows me to stream the content of image files, the paths of which are stored in database. The files can be located whether on local machine or under network drive (\my\network\folder). With the development server (manage.py runserver), I have no trouble at all reading and streaming the files. With WAMP, and with network drive files, I get a IOError : obviously because the httpd instance does not have read permission on said drive. In the task manager, I see that httpd.exe is run by SYSTEM. I would like to tell WAMP to run the server as [myself] as I have read and write permissions on the shared folder. (eventually, the production server should be run by a 'www-admin' user having the permissions) Mapping the network shared folder on a drive letter (Z: for instance) does not solve this at all. The User/Group directives in httpd.conf do not seem to have any kind of influence on Apache's behaviour. I've also regedited : I tried to duplicate the HKLM[...]\wampapache registry key under HK_CURRENT_USER\ and rename the original key, but then the new key does not seem to be found when I cmd this > httpd.exe -n wampapache -k start or when I run WAMP. I've run out of ideas :) Has anybody ever had the same issue?

• Stopping process in /etc/inittab kills spawned process. Doesn't happen in rc.local.

  Hi, I'm trying to execute a firmware upgrade while my programming is running in inittab. My program will run 2 commands. One to extract the installer script from the tarball and the other to execute the installer script. In my code I'm using the system() function call. These are the 2 command strings below, system ( "tar zvxf tarball.tar.gz -C / installer.sh 2>&1" ); system( "nohup installer.sh tarball >/dev/null 2>&1 &" ); The installer script requires the tarball to be an argument. I've tried using sudo but i still have the same problem. I've tried nohup with no success. The installer script has to kill my program when doing the firmware upgrade but the installer script will stay alive. If my program is run from the command line or rc.local, on my target device, my upgrade works fine, i.e. when my program is killed my installer script continues. But I need to run my program from /etc/inittab so it can respawn if it dies. To stop my program in inittab the installer script will hash it out and execute "telinit q". This is where my program dies (but thats what I want it to do), but it also kills my installer script. Does anyone know why this is happening and what can I do to solve it? Thanks in advance.

• Why does the onclick function run on onclick, but not when I call it manually?

• Is there a way to sync (two way) tables betwen a mysql server and a local MS Access?

  Help me figure out a solution to a (not so unique) problem. My research group has gps devices attached to migratory animals. Every once in a while, a research tech will be within range of an animal and will get the chance to download all the logged points. Each individual spits out a single dbf and new locations are just appended to the end (so the file is just cumulative). These data need to be shared among a research group. Everyone else (besides me) wants to use access, so they can make small edits and prefer that interface. They do not like using MySQL. The solution I came up with is: a) The person who downloads the file goes to a web page, enters animal ID into a form, chooses .dbf file and uploads to a mysql database on the server (I still have to write php code to read the dbf and write sql insert statements from it). b) Everyone syncs from their local access database to the server. (This is natively possible from access but very clunky). Is there a tool (preferably open source), that can compare a access table to mysql table and sync the two (both ways)? Alternatively, does anyone have a more elegant solution? The ultimate goal is to allow everyone to have access to the most current data on their computers using their preferred database app.

  My system has started behaving strangely, intermittently locking up.   Possible Duplicate: How to Remove URLs from Google Search Engine We added a RSS link to our site for our content. Since then, our site visits have diminished. If a user is viewing the RSS feed, the link itself does not go to the actual article/content. Instead, each link goes to a main index - where the content may have changed, and the article they clicked on COULD be on that page, depending on its age. The RSS link structure is as follows: www.oursite.com/[search term]/rsslink/[title of the rss link they clicked on] I'm not trying to do anything black-hat here, but wondering if we're getting penalized for this somehow. If this is the case, could I do something like permanently-removed on all /rsslink/ pages?

• Why wireless adatper stop to work?

  today I correctly installed the driver for the TP-LINK TL-WN725N USB wireless adapter on my RaspBerry Pi (I use RaspBian that is a Debian), then I setted up the wifi using the wpa-supplicant as explained in this tutorial: http://www.maketecheasier.com/setup-wifi-on-raspberry-pi/ This worked fine untill this evening. Then suddenly it stopped to work when I try to connect in SSH and the Raspberry is on the wireless (or rather it should be, as this is not in the list of my router's DHCP connected Client) The strange thing is that the USB wirless adapter blink so I think that this is not a driver problem. If I try to connect it by the ethernet I have no problem. It appear in my router's DHCP connected Client and I can connect to it by SSH. • CentOS 6.2 Bridge Setup for KVM

  I'm trying to set up bridged networking with KVM on CentOS 6.2 to no avail. There are plenty of docs and tutorials about it, but they all seem to conflict or don't provide info specific enough to my situation. I just don't get it. I access the host via public IP "xxx.xxx.128.58". All other available IPs (/29) should be bridged and made available to the only KVM guest (running a public facing LAMP stack) that will be setup on this machine. The amazingly unhelpful NOC people assigned the extra IPs to eth1. Is this correct? Should br0 bridge to eth0 or eth1? How do I set this up? • What's the best practice for linking to/from guest posts on other blogs?

  When writing a guest blog for a site, I include a link back to my site - an inbound link. If I were to write a post on my blog publicising my guest post, that would mean there were reciprocal links, thus cancelling each other out, correct? If I made the link (on my blog) back to the guest post nofollow, would that cancel the effect, meaning I still get link juice from the guest post? Further down the line if the site I posted on as a guest wanted to write a post for my site, what is the best way for me to prevent re-introducing the reciprocal link problem?

  Hello, i got an webserver running and old version of gambio (xt:commerce fork). The error_log in the dir over the public_html is flooding with errors. About 30mb in 15min. How can I disable this log? I can't fix all the errors.
