    - by YsoL8
Hello. I have this error appearing: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/ondesign/public_html/ywamleicester.org/index.html on line 1 Which I think is a php error. However, the site in question is an out of the box iweb design with no php in it. I have no idea what could be doing it.

  • when will ruby 1.8.6 be retired?

    - by Derick Bailey
I can't seem to find any info on this... when will ruby 1.8.6 be 'retired'? ruby 1.8.7 is much more functional while maintaining syntax compatibility, and ruby 1.9.1 is significantly better all around... any idea when 1.8.6 will be retired?

  • How to keep iPhone app out of iPad store?

    - by Eric
I have an iPhone app that I have started to turn into a universal app, however the process is not complete and I want to release an update to the iPhone version. I know that you can specify device capabilities in the Info.plist file to restrict your app to certain devices, but how can I do this to prevent the unfinished universal version from appearing in the iPad store? Is checking the LSRequiresiPhoneOS BOOL entry (in the Info.plist file) enough? Thanks!

  • Is DateTime.ParseExact() faster than DateTime.Parse()

    - by Nassign
I would like to know if ParseExact is faster than Parse. I think that it should be ParseExact since you already gave the format but I also think all the checking for the Culture info would slow it down. Does microsoft say in any document on performance difference between the two. The format to be used is a generic 'yyyy/MM/dd' format .

  • Change/Update a pane using python wx.AUI

    - by Dan
I'm using wx.AUI and having a bit of a problem managing panes. Once you have created a new pane using AddPane(), what is the syntax to update or change the pane? I've seen the SetPane command but I can't find any examples. Can someone direct me to an example? Or perhaps it makes sense to use some command to delete the pane and create a new one? Thanks in advance for your time.

  • Extension Methods - IsNull and IsNotNull, good or bad use?

    - by Jaimal Chohan
I like readability. So, I came up with an extension mothod a few minutes ago for the (x =! null) type syntax, called IsNotNull. Inversly, I also created a IsNull extension method, thus if(x == null) becomes if(x.IsNull()) and if(x != null) becomes if(x.IsNotNull()) However, I'm worried I might be abusing extension methods. Do you think that this is bad use of Extenion methods?

  • Switch Statement in C#

    - by pm_2
Does anyone know if it's possible to include a range in a switch statement (and if so, how)? For example: switch (x) { case 1: //do something break; case 2..8: //do something else break; default: break; } The compiler doesn't seem to like this kind of syntax - neither does it like: case <= 8:

  • "Register My Computer" on a website

    - by user279521
I am working on a secure web site, that will allow the user to register their computer, to avoid answering the primary security questions. Is this just placing a cookie on their machine, and checking to see if the cookie exists? Or do I need to retrieve the client machines ID data?

  • Visual Studio - "{ }" settings

    - by Xorty
Seriously, I don't know what to google. Here's the thing, I like this java-like code writting: if (condition == true) { doSomeStuff(); } But VisualStudio "helps" me with his own "style", which I don't like and I am unable to change (after rather big time of desperate checking all settings :/) if (condition == true) { DoStuff(); } I obviously want the "{" char to be in same line where condition is ... I am using MS Visual Studio 2010 professional Any help appreciated!

  • Inno setup, How do I check for an app and set install directory based on it?

    - by JustSmith
I'm installing an extension to an application and it needs to be copied into the same directory. I want the setup script to look to see if the app is installed by checking for it's register key and getting its installed directory and set the install path that is shown to this path. My questions are: Can I check a registry key with the installer before they user gets to the directory selection screen? If I can how to I change the text in that box?

  • Outlook - check email address type

    - by Chris Gunner
I am trying to make a macro in Outlook that will scan the To: list for a certain text string, and spit out a message if all but one (or two, etc) addresses have it. Is there a simple way to do this? Essentially, I am trying to write something that'll avoid being able to send a restricted message to a bunch of people with the string 'xyz' in the address, if one or more do not have it. AutoComplete makes this difficult, without checking through one-by-one.

  • How to redirect within a monad in Yesod?

    - by Squazic
I'm currently using the fb package to write a Yesod app that takes data from Facebook. In my Handler, I've managed to get the first step of the authentication to work, but I need to redirect to the url that getUserAccessTokenStep1 returns, which I've defined as fbRedirUrl. I'm having trouble with all the monad wrapping and type checking to make sure I can redirect to this url. getAccessTokenR :: Handler RepHtml getAccessTokenR = do withManager $ \manager -> do FB.runFacebookT creds manager $ do fbRedirUrl <- FB.getUserAccessTokenStep1 redirUrl [] liftIO $ print fbRedirUrl

  • How to properly document programming languages?

    - by roydukkey
Where can I find information on how to properly document a programming language? What I mean is that there seems to be a standard way to document code. php.net and api.jquery.com seem to document there code the a similar way. For example, the trim() description on php.net. string trim ( string $str [, string $charlist ] ) And likewise on jquery.com .animate( properties, [ duration ], [ easing ], [ callback ] ) Does anyone even know what this syntax is called?
